I had a few years with Ford myself, and we sponsored a few ASSET students. Some good, a couple that we asked to go away. I wish her well.

These huge ads on my tablet are unacceptable. They are bigger than the forum itself. Two for Tire Rack, one for Target, and the Google one appearing over the forum. Is there a way to set them to banners only? Edit: Now I have a floating popup from Nordstrom covering content.

Mike, Several of the vehicle manufacturers have their own training and apprenticeship programs. Ford's ASSET program is 24 months and you graduate with an AA. You train a few days per week and spend the rest of the time working on real cars with real Ford techs in a real sponsoring dealership. Unfortunately, the nearest ASSET program to you is in Cleveland. She could probably find a sponsoring dealership closer to home though. It's worth looking in to, and she will have an AA upon completion as well. That could be a leg up to higher education for when she gets tired of working on Powerstrokes in the snow. Or even business classes if she decides to open her own shop someday.

We still buy CDs. They get ripped to the computer and copied onto USB flash drives. The Mazda 3 and the Focus both have USB inputs to their infotainment systems and it is convenient to have 80-100 CDs on that tiny little USB drive. AFAIK, it is still legal to make a "backup" copy of music that you legally acquired.

Chris coated the bare plastic with Future. The plastic in mine doesn't look as good as his, so I think the body will get paint. I don't build Porsches, and I don't build 1/16th scale, but it appealed to me anyway. ?

Gotta remember we are talking about a Barris creation, not something from Harley Earle. -
I asked the same question a while back, and got no answer. I ASSume it is. HPIGuy did a build of one if you want to see what's in the box and how it goes together.

Got these yesterday from Burbank's Hobbies via eBay. The Porsche is nice enough. I wish Round2 would offer the Firestone Wide Ovals separately in a parts pack like the Polyglas.

Vince PMed me and told me it was yours. Very nice! I have a Modelhaus one that is way too thick and the scoops aren't open. It's a nice casting, but his master wasn't the greatest.

Is that true? Chrysler used to put white steering wheels in manual steering cars, and CHP didn't order power steering until 74 or so. I didn't think that CHP wanted white wheels, it was just that they came with manual steering. Mopar nerds latched on to the fact that the LAPD cars used in Adam-12 had power steering because they didn't have the white steering wheel.

What are you building? A 49 convertible or a 50 coupe? -

49 has an exposed fuel filler, 50 has it hidden behind a door. -
What did you see on the road today?
Rodent replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Whoda thunk that an extremely heavy wheel/tire package with the wrong offset would be an issue on a 200k mile Tahoe? Guess the ball joint separated? He dragged that tire all the way to the road on the right after the overpass. He also did an awesome job of keeping it in his lane.
