  1. I haven't seen the Chevelle or the Boss 302 at any of the HLs around Sacramento. Our lame-o LHS may have had them and sold out, or maybe never had them.
  2. I didn't invent the idea, but I like to dust a light coat of clear after I mask. It helps to seal the edge from bleed under when you spray the next color.
  3. Where do you live? Mother in law used to live off of Willow Creek Road near the Safeway, Hastings, etc. She would have soiled her knickers to see that much snow!
  4. Yes, it was a whiter white than the brownish Wimbledon White. The way I understand it, the real pace cars were Pace Car White, the 260 powered parade cars were Wimbledon white, and the special edition 260 powered coupes were Pace Car White.
  5. pigs and ballerinas
  6. A friend had a 1:1 from 1977-mid 1980s. I would buy a resin version (or a reissue) and build it like Jon's. We "Tow'd" it from Sacramento to Phoenix and back in summer 1978 with a 440-powered '70 Town and Country. Boy, we burned a lot of gas.
  7. because they're FAT
  8. I have some clear flat acrylic paint that I use.I put a light coat over the top as well. Never thought about white glue. Wouldn't Future make the powder somewhat glossy?
  9. No, they're Koalas
  10. Paul Hettick has one of his amazing 59 Nomad kits on ePay right now.
  11. happy little trees
  12. Steve, IIRC the old Autolite battery cap color denoted the power (amperage) of the battery. I can't find a decoder ring, but you should be fine with red.
  13. Five, I think? 116 for sedans, wagons, and Elkys vs 121 for the Vista Snoozer and Buick Sportwagon I think.
  14. I may have missed something, but who is casting these, and what kit is it designed to work with?
  15. And I got mine yesterday. Pretty much zero flash and nicely cast. It isn't terribly clear in Ed's pictures, but the kit comes with inside door handles, armrests and window cranks.
  16. No 68 Chevelles nor 69 Boss 302s up here in Sacramento yet that I have found. Our one remaining LHS is pretty lame as well.
  17. Looks great David. I think that I may have to look for one of these.
  18. and Panko breadcrumbs
  19. None. Yet. Eventually I would like to build a Mr.Norm 69 Charger funny car (first 1/25 kit I built by myself and bought with lawn mowing money). Also like a Motor City Stockers 70 Chevelle, an AMT 57 Ford, a new tool 70 Coronet built in the colors I built the original in, an Autocar dump truck, and a 69 Impala SS 427 convertible built to modern standards. Some of these aren't difficult to find, but I just haven't done it.
