  1. Yes, that is exactly what I had in mind. I have a Thunderbolt that predates the one you are showing. I have forgotten where I got the resin hood and bench seat, but I have had them for a while.
  2. Seems like an opportunity for the Olson Brothers. Hint hint. Malibu bench seat too. Wanna build an L79 !!
  3. Ordered some aftermarket model parts that showed in stock on the 9th. Got a confirmation email on the 11th that my order had been received and would be shipped soon. Now crickets. This vendor charges exorbitant shipping, so I decided not to pay $16 for what probably will be a small padded envelope when it gets here. Gotta start buying this kind of stuff on ebay or not at all.
  4. Scott @futurattraction casts copies of the original 67 upper shock mount. They are very nice!
  5. I am channeling No-Tox from 1973 or so. "Smells like lemon, sticks like crazy!" Yeah, no. Didn't stick very well.
  6. Had one of these in the stash for many years. Finally sold it. Often wish I hadn't. Could recreate this as a diorama! Hard to believe that these 1:1 cars were worth little enough at the time that they were used in the movie. Great build Randy!
  7. I know that this isn't what you asked, but I want to point out that the AMT kit isn't a Tudor sedan (bottom), it's a Custom Club Coupe (top).
  8. Are your engine/trans mounts ok? Powertrain flopping around excessively can damage the flex pipe.
  9. Went to a pub last night. Wonderful grilled cheese sandwich and I resisted ordering the potatoes. Nice hazy IPA to wash it down.
  10. I still have the original issue that I haven't built yet, so I probably won't get this reissue. Didn't know that about the 2006 reissue. I am sure that someone in the aftermarket will give us correct decals though.
  11. I have one eyebrow raised over the 70 "Firebird". I hope that it won't be missing the Trans Am graphics like the Road Runner was missing its.
  12. You are going to get a lot of different answers to this question. I tend to use Tamiya flats, depending on what the build is. The guys who build 50s cars will give you a different answer I am sure.
  13. Mmmmmm, tequila sunrise
  14. Hey David, have you ever had spaghetti squash? It's really good and better for you than soy! Cut it in half, seed it, bake it, make spaghetti out of it.
  15. These plates started out as a photo of my neighbor's rear plate, shot straight on with my phone (jpg). I cut out the plate itself using Snipping Tool in windoze, which makes a .png. I pasted the images into Word and used the gridlines in the "view" tab to make the images 1/2 inch wide. I printed it on photo paper with a Canon MX922. The front plate is the same image with the registration stickers edited out.
  16. I would like to see Revell do a stock Fairlane 289/271 from the Thunderbolt. I have a resin flat hood and bench seat, so all I really need is an engine to build my own.
  17. Just found another Hemi Orange that vomited on my workbench. Makes me anxious to get the 69 Boss 302 before my Acapulco Blue dies.
  18. Last week we had grilled salmon over stir-fried carrot ribbons and baby bok choy. Last Friday we made up a nice poke with tuna and salmon. Finding good mangoes and avocados at the same time is the signal to make poke. There was a guest over for the poke, so we had to use the Italian-looking bowls. We only have two of the ones we usually use for poke.
  19. They did offer me free paint (which I haven't taken advantage of yet). Maybe everyone should contact them with photos of their seeping cans.
  20. Doing a 66 Chevy PU in the same color. I had never discovered it until now, but it is a great color. Looks fantastic on the Mercury.
