  1. My birth year isn't part of my profile on here. Not trying to hide anything, just decided that putting my full DOB on da interwebs wasn't a good idea. Eisenhower was president when I was born, and my Chinese Zodiac sign is the same as my avatar.
  2. No clue. That is definitely the front crossmember for the stock suspension. I had a 1:1, and the motor mounts, lower control arms, coil springs, and rack & pinion all mount to it. Don't see what you are supposed to do when using the coilovers and tubular lower arms.
  3. Finally got one yesterday at Hobby Lobby. It was the only one they had and it was occupying the space for something else.
  4. Forgot about the 72 Cutlass convertible.
  5. Email coming at you Snake. One of my many stalled projects is making a Malibu SS L79 convertible out of the Z16 kit. If you strip the chrome from the rear panel, you can reshape it to look like the Malibu panel. The PE set has the part between the tail lamps and all the scripts you need. Half round plastic makes the chrome molding around the perimeter. The hardest part was narrowing the rear seat and making the quarter trim panels. You could always build the one of one beige Z16 convertible of legend and lore.
  6. This is the time to mate an AMT 69 body to the Revell 68 chassis.
  7. I have a spare 65 GTO roof that either you or Bill can have if you want it. In case you both want it, whoever speaks up first gets it.
  8. AMT\ERTL 70 Monte Carlo 71 Duster 71 Charger REVELL-MONOGRAM I think the 66 Impala has A/C
  9. need opposable thumbs
  10. I have ordered random things from China and Taiwan on eBay, and it has always come much quicker than they say. My LHS doesn't have any X-22 either, BTW.
  11. Friday I got the re-released 71 Duster, and four boxes of Girl Scout cookies.
  12. 396 with a 2-barrel was available in the full size cars and wagons in 1969 only. I believe it was rated at 265 HP.
  13. Anyone know if a set of headers that fit the AMT Duster kit reasonably well? I guess SBC headers would suffice due to the center exhaust port arrangement.
  14. Last weekend I was doing some chassis/interior painting for a Revell Chevy truck. Tamiya paints and Testors Metalizer mostly. It was in the mid 50s and raining, and I was painting on my front porch. I got cocky and primed the roof section, then a coat of Tamiya white. Looked really good! Another coat of white and TS13. I was afraid it would blush because of the rain, but it looks great. No dust when it is raining!
  15. http://www.superchevy.com/features/sucs-0732-chevy-l79-engine/ https://www.chevelles.com/forums/45-chevelle-tech/307270-68-chevelle-l79.html Apparently. Linkee number 2 shows a Concours L79 which has to be rarer than chicken lips.
  16. I hope someone will come out with the standard hood and a PE kit soon. I would like to build a Malibu L79.
  17. I *hope* the donor cars were unrestorable. The Cadillac was a 1-of-99 Eldorado Brougham by Pininfarina, and I would hate to see a restorable Nomad lose its roof. https://notoriousluxury.com/2013/11/23/1959-1960-cadillac-eldorado-brougham/
  18. I was going to mention that you can buy directly from Tamiya in California, but I went on their site and saw that many of the 10ml bottles show "sold out". Guess it's time to buy extras of your favorite colors when you find them.....
