  1. I have an original built one around here somewhere. I am going to wait for the eBay "kit breakers" to get ahold of one and pick up a decal sheet so I can give it an overhaul. Or buy a sheet from Round2 if/when they have them available. My original is a clean build, but it is Testor Silver with Glosscote, so it has become green over the years.
  2. If any of his molds and/or masters are in usable condition, I hope that someone in the Detroit resin community can get them back in production. He had some interesting stuff, if it actually ever existed.
  3. Got us too, first time for me. I attended a "super spreader" work event last Tuesday, was sick on Friday, tested positive on Saturday. In the "what pleased me" department, my symptoms have been really mild. Spouse is a little sicker, but not much. Both on Paxlovid if that is worth anything. Hope you feel better soon Jeff!
  4. Glad the little guy is OK! https://apnews.com/article/angelfish-ct-scan-denver-zoo-f0ea8fe850a48b2bf48ec34a36d52fe8
  5. 1970s was the decade when compression ratios fell like Wall Street in 1929. (Glad that is over. Our Focus is 12.5:1 and the Mazda3 is 13.0:1. Yay for direct injection and computers)
  6. I think that Ford's biggest mistake is giving up the entry- and mid-range market. Sure they have the Maverick, but the Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, and EcoSport are gone, and the Edge and Escape are soon to follow. Selling fewer cars and trucks at higher margins is a noble idea, but their dealers around here are generally slimeballs that have no idea how to treat an Mercedes- or Audi-class customer during the sale or in the service department.
  7. Has anyone used a wash over it, like you would do on a grille/bumper unit in the grille?
  8. LOL, they will give you a Kuga diesel. At least you can compare and contrast.
  9. Don't buy too much. As soon as the replacements start arriving, you will find the old ones.
  10. Bill seems to have returned from his hiatus.
  11. Extra Virgin Oliveoyl
  12. Megaldon and Scooby Doo! had a "thermal event" today when the trailer they were in caught fire on U.S. Highway 50 in Sacramento.
  13. The "A" would signify that it fits the full-size cars too. If it was Mustang-exclusive, it would be "D1ZE". Ford seemed to use the "most senior" vehicle for their part numbers.
  14. Not today, but last Saturday. Lakeville Highway near Sonoma/Sears Point Raceway. RAM TRX and a Corvette racing, crossing double yellows, etc. No, I didn't get out my phone to snap a pic, this is a screenshot from the dashcam video.
  15. Thritto? And building models for about 11 years at that point. I don't remember if Target had landed here yet or not. They took over the old Gemco locations, but I don't remember exactly when.
  16. If the power is out at the gas station, you won't be getting gas either.
  17. When mine first started popping, I contacted them via e-mail. they were willing to send more (defective) cans, but is was case lots of the colors they still had available at the time. I passed.
  18. I have thrown away maybe $200 of the lacquer over the last few years. I was buying discontinued colors at the LHS just to have it in stock. They are on my "list" for sure. Except for Dullcoat, they have lost me as a customer for the rest of my life.
  19. Wow, nice! As a 19 year old import auto parts employee, I sold about $1000 (in 1979 dollars) in engine parts to someone who was trying to rebuild a gullwing engine after an ill-fated trip to Tahoe that resulted in overheating and a blown head gasket.
  20. Bill, this looks great. If you can get past "life", I really hope you can reboot Rookie Resins. You had so much cool stuff!
  21. I have been in Sonoma County, CA all week, and we ventured down to Marin County today. Sightings have been much poorer than usual. Some Jeep dealer must be having a BOGO special on Grand Wagoneers, because they seem to be the "cool" $100k SUV now. Take that, Land Rover! Coolest thing I have seen was today in Point Reyes Station. A tan early '80s Toyota Starlet with a surfboard rack and board on the roof. No pics, the sketchy-looking owner was nearby. On the same street, was a nicely preserved Westfalia Vanagon Syncro. No pics either.
  22. There is a pair of Ford dealerships owned by the same people near me, and one is a "commercial center (centre)". Oddly, they have about white 15 Mach-Es in the front. I guess someone ordered them for a fleet, but they seem kind of expensive for a government purchase. Local WalMart has an eTransit delivery vehicle, but it is unclear where they charge it unless it is behind the building. The reserved parking spot it lives in when not being used does not have a charger.
  23. Supply chain issues totaled a lot of cars. Insurance companies didn't want to wait for parts to come off of back order, especially electronic items like ADAS components, airbag parts, etc. Pay off the client, then they are on their own to find another car, and the old car goes to auction and becomes someone else's problem. I am on an industry forum, and many of the questions are about programming used modules because new ones are still not available from the manufacturers in many cases, or the wait is weeks. Also, high and extra high-strength steel is commonly used now and it typically can't be straightened. We had a drivable car totaled in 2018 because the driver's side front rail had a slight bend in it. Ford did not allow sectioning of that rail, so it added $10k to the estimate to replace, necessitating engine/trans removal. The pyrotechnic seatbelt and knee airbag deployed, but none of the others.
  24. Yes, it looks like a US Dart GT with a Signet front clip. I was wondering if this was another Plodge or if someone built it.
