I have the Harbor Freight ones that Rick J. has.

Don't want to make this sound political, but.... I worked for an auto parts company from the time I was 19 to 26. There was a Vietnamese guy about my father's age who worked in the warehouse and shipping that most everyone really didn't like. He really could be obnoxious, like starting revving the forklift when you were on the phone, etc. If he didn't like you, he went out of his way to make it known. For some reason, he took a liking to me. I took lunch earlier than he did, and I used to eat at his desk and watch his little TV with his blessing. I always cleaned up after myself (cleaner than when I started) and put the TV back on whatever channel it was on when I started. Over the years, we chatted a bit and he opened up. He was from the North, but was never sympathetic to the Communists. He went to university in the South in the late 40s and wound up as an officer in the South Vietnamese Army. He was a Colonel in 1975 when Saigon fell and was one of the people evacuated by the U.S. He threw his uniform overboard because he knew it was dangerous to be caught wearing it. Someone gave him some other clothes. It was over a year after reaching San Diego alone before he saw his wife and two kids again. He didn't know if they were dead or alive. His son "Mike" was my age and was always very nice to me when he stopped by the warehouse. I know that some of you guys served in Vietnam, and I don't want to make this story about the war. Only that this humble little man had been through so much in his life opened up to me and taught me a lot about being grateful for whatever little bit you have. I learned far more from him that I did from my own parents.

Both of our daily drivers have blind spot alert/cross traffic warning. When you are the one backing out and can't see around the van/SUV it's a really nice feature. It can "see" oncoming traffic before you can.

I hope you have found a good vet there. The M.I.L. had a string of different idiots in Prescott with her cats. One of the cats developed some type of aggressive cancer at about 6 years old. The estimate for treatment was in the thousands and the outlook wasn't good even with that. She decided to euthanize her. After it was over, the vet started giving her ## for not at least "trying" to save her.

Drag City Castings...

I don't generally build that type of stuff, but I bought the 53 Ford pickup interior from him. I was blown away by the quality of the parts and by the fact that he seems like a truly nice guy! -

Maybe you can find a 1:1 somewhere to guide your scratchbuilding...... ?

I imagine that some of it would be the same. Chevrolet moved the compressor to the other side for '69 though. You might be closer to the Pontiac setup with the '68 El Camino parts.

It has been $4.35-$4.50 for regular here for some time. Thankfully, I have been working from home since March 2020 so I am not driving much. One tank per month (10-11 gallons) is about all I use.

What did you see on the road today?

A Centurion? Horrible mash-up between an F250-350 truck and a Bronco? -

And this is the only example I know of the 69-up setup that has the A6 compressor on the driver's side, driven off the P/S pump. This could be adapted to numerous 69-up Chevelles, Impalas, and pickups.

Forgot that the "new-tool" AMT '62 Thunderbird has A/C. I think that is the only time a Tecumseh/York style compressor has been done in styrene.

Revellogram 72 Cutlass and I believe that one of the ex-Lindberg 67 442s had A/C as well.

My 3 is a 6MT, so it doesn't have this: https://www.mazda.com/en/innovation/technology/env/i-eloop/ Variable output charging systems are very much a thing now though, including alternator clutch hubs that can decouple them when the electrical load is low. Mazda's capacitor was just a little larger than the one they are selling in Bill's link though, LOL.

I no longer want to be a USPS customer.
Rodent replied to Brutalform's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
It might be UPS Mail Innovations. UPS picks up the package, transports it, and hands it off to USPS for final delivery. Seems to take forever and the packages seem to sit a lot. -
