  1. Thanks guys. I don't print a lot of decals, but I have been doing it off and on for quite a few years. It's mostly stealing underhood decal images from online 1:1 suppliers and reducing them to 1/25 and printing on white. I am currently building a fun gift for some friends and want to put their company logo on the doors and their Instagram handle on the tailgate. I finally found a sheet of clear in my stash, so I can get this project handled. Except for the Instagram logo, it will be black on the clear. I am afraid to check out Micro-Mark for fear of what else may find its way into my cart.....
  2. I am not familiar with any of those brands. The LHS carried Testors and that is all I have ever used. I assume that the MicroMark stuff is probably good, but more expensive than others that may be just as good. Any suggestions on a brand you have had experience with? Right, I have an inkjet.
  3. Any tips on where to get decal paper? My LHS doesn't have any and my non-L HS doesn't either. Looks like that may be something that Testors is throwing into the fire with the rest of the modeling supplies. BMF sold some as well, but I am seeing it as mostly out of stock on my brief search. I haven't hit up all of the usual suspects, but it's disconcerting that it is disappearing.....

  5. Wow. Makes being irritated about not getting free tire air pretty small potatoes. You are way too young (looked at your profile) to be having these issues. Hospitals suck.
  6. Shoulda said OUR cars. We have the top trim levels of lower end cars, LOL. 2018 Focus (Titanium) and a 2016 Mazda3 (S Grand Touring). The Mazda uses an indirect system (uses ABS wheel speed sensors). Kinda glad that the Focus has a "dumb" system with individual sensors, as did the last one. That way I didn't have to buy yet another tool to train the sensors when the tires are rotated.
  7. I have a small Husky compressor in the garage with a long hose. I can check the tires cold. Both cars have the spare upside down, so they are a pain to check but I try at least once a year. Valve stem points down on the truck, so it's easy to check. Had a Ranger that pointed up. Had to drop the spare to air it up. This is also the same compressor that powers my airbrush. Three air pressure gauges in my toolbox and one in each vehicle. The TPMS systems in the cars aren't smart enough to tell you which tire is low if the light comes on.
  8. I really like these kit reviews that you do. Keep it up until you run out of kits!

  11. Are you going to have issues with neighbors that may be recipients of your paint fumes?
  12. I received the Ray's Kits Indy truck decals for the 1994 F-150 Lightning today. Bought them on The Bay November 2. Very nicely packed. Gonna scream if I mess one of these up, LOL.
  13. Okay, dollah fitty?
  14. Not sure what beef costs in Tennessee now, but a steak dinner and the gasoline to get there would be an expensive celebration in California right now. Happy birthday to one of our cherished brothers in styrene!
  15. If you are talking to me, I bought his Indy truck 1994 Lightning decal set. And he doesn't usually have much available on the eBay store.
  16. Awesome. Dad had an accident at work when I was 2 1/2 that left him disabled until I was around 5. He built some models during that time and I was fascinated. I credit him for me getting into the hobby. And buying me kits and paint.

  18. Yeah, I overpaid for a set on eBay a while back, but the quality is nice and he offers subjects you can't get anywhere else. It's only money, right? If I remember what he said on here some time ago, he has to go to the U.K. to get them printed.

  22. I once had a 77 "squarebody" GMC with semi-recessed wipers. I drove it a few times in pretty heavy snow (western Sierra Nevada snow is usually pretty wet) and found that the wipers would scoop the snow under the rear edge of the hood. I had to stop and clean it out occasionally for fear of breaking the drive gears in the wiper motor. Looks like they lost that feature in the 1981 restyle, going to exposed wipers.
