    Not offbeat, but my mom's uncle lived near a Woolco. They always had a decent selection of discounted kits (never pay sticker price) and a side trip there was a treat after hanging out with Joe and Anna.

    I think this kit lost its molded-in exhaust when it became a modified stocker and they had to tool a new system when it was put back as a street car.

    The spouse planned an East Coast fall color trip in 2016. One of the stops was Lenox, MA. Once I found out how close we were going to be, I requested a side trip to Stockbridge and Great Barrington (Arlo owns the church where Alice and Ray Brock lived). Great fun!

    Yesterday, actually. This old beast looks pretty good for its age. Obviously a repaint, but it is surprisingly straight and non-rusty.

    The ship has sailed as far as styrene is concerned IMHO. If the kit industry had been in 1953-54 what it became in the early 60s, these would have been kitted for sure. By the time SMP/AMT came around, these were just old cars.

    Yeah, Tamiya Racing White is close enough to Wimbledon White for government work. Yes, use white primer under white paint. If you are talking about the molding at the rear of the Laser stripe like in Keef's pic, that is a GT item. Cobras didn't have them. Maybe that is why you saw some with and some without?
