  1. Do you have this turned on?
  2. Hobby Town franchisees need love too. The one we had closed. It was in a foo-foo shopping center in a foo-foo suburb and the owner claimed that the rent was too high to sustain the RC and craft business.
  3. I was in one of my local HLs on Tuesday, and the shelves were full. It was all the stuff they have had for a while, but they obviously were freshly restocked because there were multiple copies of everything. I think that the 64 Plymouth was the newest thing they had, but it was restocked. I still haven't seen a Supernatural Impala in any HL since the two I saw in June and didn't buy.
  4. How many of us got the Polar Lights saucer? Agreed, "Ed Wood" was amazing. And....... We..... Have.... Derailed..... Another ..... Thread...... I don't think I can point to a worst movie in a theatre. I attended many Rocky Horror screenings in the late 70s and I saw a double feature with "Flesh Gordon" and "Reefer Madness" around the same time. Really bad movies, but they were fun. Warning: Do NOT Google "Flesh Gordon" unless you are ready for the results. It was kind of a parody soft-core thing that was so stupid it was funny.
  5. Anything Ed Wood is pretty funny with 21st Century goggles on. I don't know how they were received when they were released. Badly, I suspect.
  6. I have a small 5 gallon compressor that I use for 1:1 car and bicycle tires. A few years ago I decided to get the adaptors I needed to use it with the H and I never looked back. It's great not to have to hear the little tankless compressor I had before constantly rattling away.
  7. My house was built in 1979 and the builder installed Delta which was still in place when we bought the house in 1993. As we have remodeled and upgraded, all the new stuff has been Delta, except for one Moen. The Delta single handle "diamond" cartridges have a lifetime warranty that I have already taken advantage of.
  8. good Scotch afterward
  9. There are a fair amount of pics online if you search for LTD instead. There is a YouTube walkaround video of a red LTD in Alberta but the perspective is wonky on my monitor. It makes the car look too short and the point on the rear window exaggerated.
  10. The only airbrush I have ever owned is the Paasche H that I have had for probably 35 years. Like Pete, I use "stinky" paints and employ a similar method of cleaning it. It is simple to remove the nozzle and needle to soak in acetone for a deeper cleaning. I have probably shot acrylic through it at one time, but I don't remember it being an issue for cleaning. It's a single action, which I prefer for getting the paint on the body evenly with little effort. I can't offer any advice for a dual action if that is what you want.
  11. Haven't they spoiled?
  12. Sending her to college somewhere in The Maritime Provinces?
  13. We have four really nice kids on the cul de sac (two households) and we made up some special trick or treat bags for them that probably cost nearly $10 each. Then we hid. I don't think there was much action anyway. Lots of over the top decorations though, and there was an official HOA scavenger hunt for the kids to do instead. Go look for so and so decoration on so and so street, and record the house number where it is, blah blah. Seemed to be a good alternative to ringing doorbells, but kids like immediate gratification and the winners won't be announced until tomorrow.
  14. Not a MOPAR expert, but I think that the trim level represented by the door panels and rear seat pattern would have a high back bench that would best be built out of three kit buckets and some styrene. Same thing for the AMT 71 Duster. The low back bench with separate headrests had a flatter, taxicab surface.
  15. He is on here and has done some amazing stuff for other members. I agree, I think Rico may be your man.
  16. This might be an opportunity for a Fisher Price "My First Resin Casting" project. Seems like a fuel cap on a sprue pipe would be pretty easy to do multiples of.
  17. I use the evil eBay shipping calculator and print the labels. Most of the kits and other things I have sold have gone to the other side of the US, but I sold a JoHan to someone about 50 miles away. Wouldn't have been fair to charge him the $14 it was costing to send stuff to the East Coast. The eBay calculator takes distance into consideration.
  18. December 29, 1978. Doobie Brothers and Norton Buffalo at Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento. Bunch of friends had tickets, but I was scheduled to have my wisdom teeth out, so I didn't buy one. As it turned out, something fell through on my surgery, and my friend Karen came down with bronchitis, so there was a spare ticket. Crummy nosebleed seats, but no "smoking" was required for 18 year old me to attain an amazing buzz secondhand. I actually fell asleep, which is something that is my natural reaction to loud noise to this day. Calaveras County Fairgrounds used to put on a "Mountain Aire" concert every June, and we went in 1980 and saw them again. Amazing day. My (then) 120 pound body received quite a sunburn from running around all day in my 1980 OP shorts and nothing else. Got the poster, and hung it in the garage at my parents' house. I sold the place in 2004 after my dad died, and the buyers' home inspector asked me about it. Turns out that he was there too, and also received a sunburn from wearing too little clothing. He asked what I was going to do with the poster, and I told him that I was probably going to take it and hang it in my garage. He offered to buy it, but I wound up giving it to him. As a side note, a former local radio station used to put on concerts at several venues in town. Green Day was supposed to appear several times, but all they ever did was disappear. Each time that happened, the concert went on as planned, but without Green Day. And the radio station gave out free tickets for the next concert that Green Day promised to appear at. Well, the first one of these concerts had an opening act from San Diego that was amazingly 80s punk in the 90s and very high energy. We had no idea who they were, but enjoyed the opening set probably more than most of the other bands. We saw this group a few more times locally, but they quickly moved from opening act to headliner. You may know them now as Blink-182. If I ever get around to building a diorama or a garage photo background, I will definitely have a Mountain Aire 1980 poster on the wall. Just because.
  19. give him penicillin
