  1. Sweet, glad you like it.
  2. Sam, I would suggest "Aircraft Stripper" from an auto supply store for diecast parts. Noel, the Hubley Fords had no plated parts as far as I remember.
  3. I think these have both been replaced by two versions of the new 7.3L pushrod engine.
  4. cure for M.S. !!!!!
  5. Cake! Champagne! Styrene!
  6. It's Carl's birthday!
  7. tastes like chicken
  8. Clean Marine heads
  9. That's a good idea, and I have four different sizes of nail clippers. I have several hemostats on my bench. I find them useful for holding small parts, and you never know when you are going to sever an artery with the X-Acto knife......
  10. He goes by camaro69 on the board. I believe that he tooled up the '63 Ford hubcaps for a member here.
  11. That's our friend Rico from the board.
  12. How do the wheels attach? I don't see a picture of the reverse side of any of them on his site.
  13. Made this kale / sausage/ gnocchi thing that I have made before. Baked a pesto / parmesan quick bread this afternoon that accompanied it.
  14. Not sure if I will ever attempt to use this paint, but this thread has turned into an informative resource on it.
  15. The 1:1 chassis were pretty close to identical. Maybe someone has both kits and would look? Both my original S10 and Syclone kits were re-homed some time ago. The 4wd uses torsion bars and the 2wd uses coils. I just remembered that the front frame area of the AMT S10/Sonoma is different than the Blazer. The same is probably true with the Revellogram kits.
  16. Harbor Freight has a set of round leather punches that I find useful for round gauges. I am not adept with scissors and round shapes.
  17. Just because everything is there and hooked up, it doesn't mean that it is working. Also, the tailpipe test is just a small slice of what is being emitted over the course of the day (Hello, diesel defeat devices?). I like the MY 2000-up test that they do now. No tailpipe test needed. Let the OBD-II system do its job.
  18. You don't see that many Gen 1 versions around here. They were all probably exiled to central Oregon after failing multiple emissions tests, especially the carb and TBI versions. The second gens are all over the place, in fact there is one in my driveway.
  19. The used car manager of a dealership i worked for said the same thing. "There's an a** for every seat, and a seat for every a**".
  20. My mom was friends with the dealer principal of one of the local Ford dealerships. They had known each other since they were in their twenties. He was really good to my parents and always had a promo up his sleeve for me. I built these two Hubleys for him in the early 1970s. He is long dead, but I was surprised to see them still on display a couple years ago in the showroom, along with a bunch of memorabilia and promos. They recently completed a big showroom remodel. I haven't been in there since, but I hope this display case is still part of it. The only other Hubley I ever had was a Packard Roadster. It went to Battle Creek, MI on a trade deal with one of our forum members. Very simple kits, but I think they hold a place in many of our hearts. Makes me want to prowl eBay for another woodie.
  21. It never ceases to amaze me how our friends who do not live in North America and are not likely to have ever seen the 1:1 car in person can just NAIL a build. I have seen this over and over, this one is no exception. Great looking build and photography!
  22. Motor City Resin Casters offers the Kurbmaster van kit that I think would make a fun food truck build. You probably already know this, but you may get more results for dollhouse accessories if you look for "1/2 scale" (as in 1/2" to the foot.) We modelers know it as 1/24th but dollhouse folks more commonly call it 1/2 scale.
