OMG, this is the coolest van build I have seen!

In general I am not one of those people that have an obsession with facebook and hang on there 24/7. However, from time to time I follow certain post or current issue. We have this group that is HIP XXXXXX official. So people post anything from questions, looking for help or advertising local business. The latest that grabbed my attention was a picture of a bill from a local restaurant that had “sorry, I don’t have any extra money for a tip” on a receipt for $18 paid with a credit card. It was posted by the mom of a teenager who was the waitress. The incident aside, the comments and discussions that followed were just something that I just can not comprehend. The level of stupidity, ignorance and indifference mixed with entitlement and lack of simple common sense just blew my mind. It didn’t just irk me. It took me on a rollercoaster of anger, pity and a feel of no hope for humanity.

I had a crazy idea about that years ago, just never got around to try it.

Very nice. Perfect representation of today’s clean style. Stock body, monster motor and just nice modern wheels. My kinda muscle car.

I have also never seen this kit built before. Great job on it. I love the bright red engine contrasting the rest of the car.

Really cool build. The lights are impressive. I thought about putting light in models many times, but chickened out every time. LOL. I would love to learn how to do it. You should make a tutorial.

Ouch!. I've had plenty of moments like that. sometimes you just need to walk away for a bit.

I would join everyone else and say the same thing. Just get a new kit. For something like this where the kit is readily available and not all that expensive it's always the better route. And as it was already mentioned, you can have your first Tamiya kit. That's actually really important in my opinion. I have gifted, sold or simply given away a lot of models. But there are few that I am not parting with. They are far from great, but every time I look at them I can see how far I have taken my abilities.

A small update... Clear coat was just applied and it is curing. This means that this coming week I'll most likely have a rolling chassis. I can't hide my excitement about it. I need to finish this bad boy, so I can finally pay some attention to the two long roof Deuces I have started for the group build off.

So, I did not take any pictures, but I am super excited that I was finally able to put clear coat on my Trooper Mustang. It is currently drying, but once I take pictures you will understand why it took so long and why am I excited to be done with that part. Two full sheets of carbon fiber decals was no joke...

The last couple of weeks have been quite hectic at my house. My garage got flooded and a lot of boxes got soaked up. Many of them with models in them. The models are fine but the decals are toast on many of them. Worse, I had to deal with preventing them from getting moldy. To add to all that my kid is about to go off to college, which put my wife in "a mood", which...well...I'm not even going to go there... LOL! Orientation at his college, few dumpster fire situations at my work, stuff he needs for his dorm and him signing for a program which would mean he has to move in a week early (and moves the first payment due date forward) without telling us, has limited my bench time somewhat. However I still did quite a bit a progress on both my Mustangs, but I just have not taken much pictures. For starters I began work on the interior. I printed some cool modular seats, which are in tune with the carbon shell bare bones seats that all the rage in pro touring builds I see at the big shows. I had them sanded, primed and painted gloss black. I am no losing my mind trying to cover them in carbon decal, just so you can't see it at all in the interior. I need the black to cure well before I paint all the cushions light grey. The interior panels and the dash were painted with a greyish blue from SEM (best primer ever ?) which looked very in line with the ugly interiors of the '80s LOL. The door handles and the inlaid panels were then masked with Liquid Mask and will be painted light grey, which is what I see the most when checking out Fox Bodies online. This model has morphed into something different somewhere along the way and picked up few threads related to both my family and my kid's generation. One of those things are stickers. As I had mentioned elsewhere, my kid end up with an ex Metro Police Impala as his first car. One of the coolest things about that car was the rear seat. Or should I say the lack there of. His car has an "arrest me" molded plastic seat and all rubber floors. Basically you can hose the entire interior and just wipe it. He loves the rear seat and I gave him the idea that he can cover it with stickers. He loves stickers and has been collecting hundreds of them from anywhere from restaurants and breweries to car shows and skateboard shops. He has almost completely covered it and everyone who's seen it, thinks its cool. So my kid's car and his rear seat served as an inspiration for the interior in my Mustang Model. Which made me take a swing at his generation, who like to slap meaningless stickers on anything. My model does not have a rear seat, but the stripped down panel was covered with about 120 or so stickers from decal sheets from a variety of kits and some of them custom made. I think if represents the character of my kid's rear seat pretty good. It took me the better part of an afternoon, but I like it. The car will be also covered in a lot of stickers, most representing some my wife's favorite brands like DC Shoes and Monster Energy. Of course it will have some absolutely meaningless stickers and some sponsor decals. It is kinda race car, kinda show car, kinda drift car, kinda "hooked up daily driver". And I think it earned it's nickname "STICKERS".

They are really nice and fit quite well. I have a couple of them from when they were first offered. Get one, it's a great piece.

That was my thought too, but then I remembered that I have somewhere that Revell Super stallion Mustang, which has a cool supercharged motor in it. I still have not gotten to digging it out from the garage. I don't know if it will fit in my engine bay. Otherwise I do have a Coyote motor in my parts bin. I just wanted something as outrageous as the body kit under the hood. Your models seems to be coming along very nicely. Killer paint job too.

Looking good. I want to see what your engine bay ends up looking like. I still can't decide on an engine for mine.

That's really cool. I think everything just works perfect together. the chop, the color, the engine, the gold, the wheels, stance... It's got that "Gotcha factor".

Some great work on here. I’m seeing all these great builds and I’m starting to realize that I am falling way far behind. And I have four other models I’m trying to finish in the same time frame. This will be tough…

Thank you. This is strange, because from the countless car shows, cars and coffee, tuner mags etc., I have never seen a single Scirocco. Rabbits, Golfs yes, but never a Scirocco. Never seen one on the street either. I have even seen Yugos, which were the cheap Golf nockoffs.

Really cool. In a way this is the Corrado's granddaddy. I am happy Revell is making the Corrado and I wish they made the Scirocco too. Your model looks great. The custom "brow" hood is a very nice touch. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Scirocco was never sold on the US market.
