  1. I have noticed on the past couple of models of mine that during the build paint is getting worn off. It's not like I'm I'm banging these things around. I primer paint and either dull or glosscoat my parts what can I do to prevent this?
  2. I'd like to know what solder you used also
  3. No there are stupid questions and they are only asked by stupid people lol. I was working in the meat dept. and was onced asked what part of the cow the pork chop comes from seriously though another couple term you see here are LHS local hobby shop NNL No Name luminares ( I just learned this one after 2 yrs it's model shows around the country) Purple pond is a common term for purple power which is used to strip paint.
  4. One thing that makes a model shine for me is also when I can sand out the back of a grille.
  5. Off valve covers head me scratching my head
  6. I'm a beginner also well not really I've been in the model building game for years but just started getting serious about it the past couple. I agree whole heartedly with the others. Photoetched parts are useless unless you have the detail skills to back them up. I got some beautiful photoetched paets for a buick grand national from another user but I have put off building it. Because with my skills those parts would stick out like a sore thumb.
  7. I learn something everyday
  8. I'm looking at shooting testors laquer emerald green on a couple different bodys. I'm wondering what color primer should I put down? On the lamborghini I just painted flamming orange , I used gray but when I went to shoot the underside of the engine cover I didn't primer and in hindsight I should have primered the whole car in white. Should I use white for the green? I thought I read somewhere to use silver for metallics is that true?
  9. When I locate my jaw that hit the floor i'll be able to say WOW!
  10. In your opinion what is one detailing feature that really brings out the look of your models. Me I like washing the grill it gives it that depth it should have. But what is your favorite thing
  11. What ever it is it will be to rich for my blood
  12. I got a free bottle of testors clear part and window maker cement the other day. I've never used it before because I normally use my friend Elmer. I thought I'd try it out by making a dome light for my demon. I made a bezel then I squeezed out some of the cement. is this stuff supossed to be this thick? it looks like thick snot. Excuse the description but that is what it looks like. I don't know how you'd make a window with this stuff. Is this normal for this stuff or did I get a bad bottle?
  13. Very interesting I can't wait to see what you decide
  14. I can't wait to see this one come together

  20. I laid down a beautiful coat of flamming orange on my countach then I laid down a coat of clear laquer. I made the biggest bone head mistake after that. I forgot I sprayed it not long after I picked it up and was holding it to glue some parts on that was when I noticed I had left my hand prints on it. Is there anything I can do without stripping it? Can I sand them off and throw a clear coat on again.
