Ed- All American Models hasn't been around in a long time. It was run by Art Anderson who posts on this board. I still have mine unbuilt in the box. I guess the way to find one would be to post a search agent on eBay. That way when one is listed you get an email. I find AAM things on the 'bay on a regular basis.

lookin' good Rob! My Manx is still strewn across the bench! I don't know how AMT expected kids to build this darn thing! I spent an entire evening getting the front end assembly to fit. That involved cutting things apart, adding pins, and shortening shocks. I have been too busy at work to get on the bench and had three visitors from China this week. That was like meetings all day, entertain all evening, drop them at the hotel, drive a hour and a half home, sleep, then do it all over again! So now I'm sitting by the pool with a cold one and enjoying the new board on my phone !

Yea, the Kitchen one is the one for the '57 Ford. I need to get one of those myself since I want to turn my '57 sedan into a meter readers car. I even have the correct decals done already. Ken does a bunch of unique engines, and for Chevy 6 fans, he makes the correct air cleaners for those.

Welcome Jeff! I know how it feels to be a Ripp Van Winkle of the hobby! I gave up stamp collecting for the most part around 1980. Recently I found a board and am amazed at all the things that happened and changed in that hobby in the last 35 years as well.

Weeds! I go through all the gardens every week (more like constantly) and man, there's friggin weeds a few inches tall already. This is especially a bad season since there's been lots of rain followed by heat and sunshine. If weeds were worth money I'd be a millionaire!

Pretty organized there Geoff! And I wonder why I recognize each and every part there!

For all the other goodies, I'd give up the "Preview Post" button. It's necessary on another board where once you hit "Post" it's permanent, but you can edit your post over and over again without worries on this board.

The Resin Kit is a Phantom. It uses the '53 Starliner and the Wagon didn't come out until '54 with a different Grill Ford Country Squires, Volvo 145 / 245 wagons and a Type 2 VW bus would let me build all the usual vehicles we rode in on school field trips as a child (I grew up in the pre-minivan world). Ed, maybe you're thinking of another kit... I'm talking about the All American 1954 Conestoga. There may have been a Modelhaus or Flintstone phantom sedan delivery later on

Why is it.........................??
Tom Geiger replied to gatorincebu's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
On the old software, I had to be really bored to look at the board on my iPhone... now I will do so all the time! Just what I needed, another bad habit! -
Maybe it's a Ranchero part!

New Content, top right just below the search bar. Or the star if you're on mobile. I don't think the switch is to attract younger members directly, it's so the site works better on mobile devices which are being used more and more by users of all ages, especially younger people. One change I really like is that you can now quote a reply with a quote in it and it shows them both, the old way just quoted the single post, so sometimes you'd lose the context of the quote. Yes that is a really cool feature. And one I just discovered is that when you are looking at a list of threads, like your "New Content", after you view a thread and hit the back button to go back to the list, it now has that thread marked as read. The old system didn't do that and you had to know where you were on the list and hit refresh every so often to see what you had read.

Thanks John, you are right about that kit. I tried to hide the fit of the windows by frosting the edges to look old. Now you shouldn't have said that! I was all set to post congratulating you on the glass delamination!

Big thank you to Gregg for the forum

and maybe show a little love in return? Subscribe to Model Cars Magazine! Online Subscription Form I always bought mine from the hobby shop as an excuse to go to the hobby shop, but recently decided to make a visible show of support! -
nice pick-em-ups! I have a couple of those early 60s Fords that I just haven't gotten to yet. I did want to cut the integrated bed off one to make a step side myself!

White "Pet Dairy" truck
Tom Geiger replied to bonehead23's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I like the Russian candy wrapper! Not your everyday truck logo! I know you saw it and your first thought was, "this will look so cool on a truck!" -
Big thank you to Gregg for the forum

Agreed! Thank you Gregg for providing a great board. And to Harry for sorting it all out! -
That's the situation with the software upgrade I'm involved in! It has become a major project because the company ignored the small incremental software updates for the past five years. They could've done the incrementals almost invisibly and for little cost. Now it's time to pay the piper!

Mine is working fine in Chrome and that's all that matters. If you don't have Google Chrome, it's a free download and it works much better than IE everywhere! On the old system my "View New Content" button didn't work for my account (it worked fine if I wasn't logged in) and Dave couldn't figure out why. Now it works fine! Which is a great thing since that was always the first thing I'd hit when I sat down to view the board. Notifications never worked for me. I just received two notifications from PMs so that's also a good thing. A lot of the functions now are labeled more clearly, and are easier to use. And it just rocks on my Iphone! Good upgrade! We have to keep moving forward. More people are using mobile devices as their primary. And there are those little things that Gregg is figuring out one at a time. It was best to bring up the system, then implement them one at a time. Otherwise if he brought up the who shabang at once, and it didn't work, it would be much harder to troubleshoot. If you don't keep up with software releases, soon enough your application won't work on newer browsers and operating systems and will fall out of support. At work I'm involved with a major software upgrade across all the manufacturing sites. The version is 5 years old, running on obsolete servers that are in danger of failing, and the software version just fell out of support. There is no way we could stay that way. The new version answers many things that are lacking on the old system and we're taking the opportunity to add new functionality. And there are folks still screaming bloody murder that they want to keep the old system!

I have a curbside mailbox but if a package is too big, my USPS carrier will walk all the way up the driveway and to the front covered porch. UPS is another story. They'll back the truck up the driveway and toss it onto the pavement from the drivers seat! I had a box roll under a car and not be noticed until it got soggy!

What did you see on the road today?
Tom Geiger replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There was a Hubley Nash Metropolitan back in the day. It has been done in resin by R&R and possibly Modelhaus. Steve- you call that a rust problem. Here on the East Coast that thing would be rusted away right up to that first crease line! -
Would you just Love to see this? I would
Tom Geiger replied to Sledsel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dear Revell- Please find my check for $500,000 enclosed to tool up and market my '68 Ford station wagon kit.... I will need some notice before you ship my 10,000 kits to my house... -
Yes, the dryer sheet solution is universal, the stamp collecting folks do the same thing. Receiving things from smokers is a big deal on the eBay boards. You'll actually see disclaimers on auctions, and some folks will post "From a non-smoking home", or "I smoke but not in the house or eBay room". You could mention it in your feedback to warn others.

Forum e-mails, Notifications, Etc.
Tom Geiger replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yea Pat, I have a big "4" on my chatroom. And I got that same error message. Harry and Gregg said that we weren't getting a chat room and so be it. Sounds like trouble anyway. My email notifications never worked on AOL and I don't think it works now. My "New Content" button never worked on the old system but magically works now. So I'll take that one, and it covers the email notifications I don't receive! I get them from another non-modeling board and they're a pain in the tail anyway!
