I just learned of this kit this last week and it's on my wish list. You've done a great job with yours. If i ever get it and build it to look half as good as yours, I might be happy.

Thank Del. I am planning to work on the seams. This was just the first primer shot for a mockup and to see all the imperfections. Won't use bothe green and purple together. Not for this build. Good idea on the spoons though. Will help me decide. Today was mostly engine work. -

Thanks everyone. Richard - for the color I'm thinking a flat mint green? I'd like a dark purple too. Haven't decided. JC - the wheels come with the repop kit. Tires are from Modelhaus. Jason - the coupe top aligns very well with the body. Comes with the trophy series version of the kit No re-scribing of doors needed. -
Here is something I just started. Quick mock-up and the beginning of the engine work

display areas
IceMan Collections replied to l88 chevelle's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have 5 of these and with the exception of one single display case for a kit I built for my daughter, which is in her room. I think these are well worth the investment and helps to stay organized. -
To say I pick ONE model to work on next seems a bit crazy. I have at least 3 projects I'm continuously working on. a few more that I"m also "working" on. If I get bored, it goes back into the box and on the shelf. But like many have already posted, I might see something in a magazine or something on the road and I wonder if I could build something similar or it gives me ideas for later.

"There's an a-- for every seat!" - anonymous Ebay is an online merchant that gives everyday folk the opportunity to make money. It does hurt to see great vintage kits parted out but it does pay more than selling it as a whole. People are on there to make money. It's like anything else we buy. We just don't talk about it because we have been used to paying certain prices everyday. We buy electronics, clothes, groceries, all which may cost cents on the dollar to manufacture and make. We shop around to find a better price. Most of us are on a budget. Would I rather get a complete kit, yes. Do I always have the money to spend on those, nope. Will I buy a part to complete a rare kit, yes. Will I buy a part from a recent kit that will cost me 3x what the kit is worth, nope. Are there people that are willing to pay more for a single part, than find the complete kit and pay less, yes. Bless their little hearts.

How to get your Christmas tree home
IceMan Collections replied to IceMan Collections's topic in Model Cars
Thank Don and Gaute. Gaute - I tried to get a bit of brown, dirty sludge right behind the wheel wells. I was afraid of messing it up so it was definitely not as strong or "dirty" as it could have been. Maybe I can go back and add some more. Thanks for the picture. I know what you mean about all the salt. Starts eating away at the paint too.- 41 replies

How to get your Christmas tree home
IceMan Collections replied to IceMan Collections's topic in Model Cars
Carl, John, Ken, Mark, Bo, Charlie, Gene, Richard, Mike, Ron and Tom - Thank you so much. I appreciate you guys taking time to leave comments. Mark - I didn't think about that. Probably using a wet brush to remove some of the snow from the middle of the hood would capture that effect. John - Christmas is already everywhere. I wanted to make sure I beat the deadline for the MOTM as well! Charlie - The snow is from Woodland Scenics pictured below. Tom - You're right that using tape would have given me a cleaner line. I didn't think of BMF and it would've helped a lot because I used the same paint I used on the body so it was thin and it seeped through the blue tape I used on the door panels. I also see what you mean about the seat belts. I will try that next time. I didn't even think of the style. I love how you added the thickness though. Also noticed that my seat belts are a bit longer than they should be. I appreciate the tips.- 41 replies

Outstanding. Those wheels fit it just right. What does the lettering on the rear windo say? Something something Customs? Any pics of the chassis or engine?

Jaw-dropping! Excellent work. Best Lotus I've seen built. -
Nice details. Great job overall.

Oh I like this. Is it a curbside build or do you have shots of the engine?
