1. I`ve found that Krylon crystal clear is terrible for drying into heavy orange peel. It seems that no matter how smooth and wet you lay it down when it dries there is heavy orange peel. Use the Testors like RHS suggested or Dupli-color clear enamel and you will be left with a shiny coat that is quite smooth.
2. You`d think by now they would have changed the trend from flying cars to floating cars.
3. I stumbled onto some of this at a Dollar store yesterday. Did`nt think I`d ever see it in Canada but The Great Canadian Dollar Store carries it. It`s not Purple but smells exactly like SuperClean or Purple Power and works about the same. At $1.25 for a 1 litre spray bottle you cant go wrong.
4. Super super clean looking! I allready like it.
5. Irony: The page took forever to load and then the video would not play. I refreshed the page and got the video to play but it kept freezing up. It got annoying so I just closed the page. I`m so glad I`ve got a Jeep, and not one of those Chrysler specials, a real live AMC.
6.

Cool thread for a cool car. And there are some very cool cars in it. Heres mine. I built it for a Cannonball last year that was set in the early 80`s.
7. Deadhead Miles Doc.....http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068452/I`ve never heard of it either but it looks interesting. I like trucker movies. Think I`ll have to watch it soon.
8. Thats funky! I like it a lot. Cant wait to see the finished product.
9. I used to have a 70 Bronco Sport with a 302 and 3 speed. It was such a cool rig. I still miss it sometimes and wish I had kept it but as fuel prices went up my desire to drive it went waayyyy down.I wish there was a model of it as well. I found this build a while ago...its incredible! http://www.offroadmo...splay&thread=48
10. Hahahahaha! Wow, so much for "tread lightly". I`ve got an old MPC Grrrrrumbler CJ somewhere around here in terrible condition. I`ve had it for 30 years or so. I put a 350 in it, built a cage and lifted it to the moon when I was a kid. I was looking at it a few weeks ago and thinking I should rebuild it as a King of the Hammers type race machine......one day. I also have a Lindberg SR-5 Toyota 4x4 pickup. Its very old as well and in perfect condition. Its in the same box as the Jeep. Very cool J-10 Jeff.
11. Looking good Seal, nice pick on the color. I painted a motorcycle that same blue a few years ago. It looks gorgeous out in the sun under a few coats of clear.
12. The flash free edition of the AMT General Lee with perfectly fitting bodyparts is also quite rare.
13.
Yes I was kidding, but facetiously kidding in reference to Richard Petty`s petty remark regarding Danica Patrick entering Nascar. He said Nascar is not a sport for women. Sounds like "King Richard" is way too stuck in the past. I`m not a fan of Nascar nowadays either (but I do dig that new Ford). I much prefer the 70`s and 80`s era. But just like the rest of the world you`ve got to keep pace with the times or you die. If Nascar was`nt developing new cars and expanding the sport they would only be watched by a handfull of cheap old codgers like us and no-one would be making a dime.....just like the old days. The irony of it is that the top speeds are`nt really much higher and they still cant get the cars to stay on the track any better....a flea down in the pits farts the entire feild goes sideways, upside down, end over end and it looks like little Johnny just spilled his bag of Skittles on the road. As much as I enjoyed my childhood of have dirtbomb fights, seeing how many of your friends you could jump over on your bicycle(helmet free)and living a life of no texting, video games, cell phones or reality shows, you have to progress with the rest of the world. Sadly, if you dont it will eat you alive. But the upside of progress is that were not stuck in our rooms building models alone with barely anyone to enjoy it with. Were now stuck in front of our Computer alone sharing it with the rest of the world
14. If you wet sand metallics you will disturb the top surface of flakes and it will look terrible when you clear coat it. The only way to wet sand ANY paint that isnt a solid color and have it look good in the end is to put a few coats of clear over it and wet sand the clear. The same theory applies to polishing without sanding. You`ll just end up with a crappy looking paint job. If your not sure what I mean paint a test piece with a Metallic, wet sand it and then put a coat of clear over it or polish it.
15. And what kinda racin lets in a woman?!?! A womans place is in the kitchen. Now who`s gonna fetch me a beer and make me a samwich when the race is on? Dang womens libers anyway!!
16. You can never go wrong with a Countach. Nice work!
17. The latest crop of perfornmance cars are incredible in every way. I was reading a Road and Track the other day and was shocked at the amount of cars that are posting 0-60 & 0-100 mph times that are close to big bore sportbike numbers. What I`m also liking is that the new GT500 AND ZR-1 perform just as well as the exotic Euro trash at 1/3 the price or more. Its about time.
18. That Bug Van at the top is too cool!! Makes me want to buy a bugvan model.
19. If you guys are shocked at what someone classifies as pro-built on E-Bay you should go onto a dating site and check out what some people classify as attractive.
20. Absolutely incredible!!! Easy to say that those are some of the most amazing build I`ve ever seen. I saw your coupe, the first pic you posted, on some car blog a while ago. I honestly thought it was a 1:1 rod the first time I saw the picture. If I hadn`t read the caption saying it was a model I would have never guessed it.
21. Thats awesome Erik!! Thank you very much.
22. Not one Smurf in site.....I`m very dissapointed.
23. I thought the same thing. It might be tough pulling that one off.
