Identifying vintage kits
george 53 replied to Furiousgeorge's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The yellow one looks to be a Lindberg 32nd scale 52 Chevy Fleetline sedan. The other two smaller ones are NOT American cars. At least none that I've ever seen, an I'mma ol fart. -
Tommy, I've found that if you add TWO strips of .10 thous, plastic sheet it the BACK edge of the 67/68 AMT Camaro's hood, it will fit the Revell 69 body very nicely. It's VERY easy to do.

The 67,68, and 69 hoods are ALL interchangeable, I know, I had a 69 Camaro till I gave it to my daughter. They ALL have the sculpture lines near the edges and in the center. they are exactly the SAME. The 1st Generation did NOT have a completely FLAT hood.

You, sir, are an ENGINEER in plastic! That is one HECKAVA project!. But if your goin by the blueprints, it should work in scale too! GREAT thinking and design on your part! I'm truely impressed by your skills. Your a VERY committed modeler! It's gonna look GREAT! -
Sure does, I got one too! They look good, don't they?

Why not these things
george 53 replied to raildogg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Roger, AMT never produced those kits. ERTL did. I do have the MF an JD tractors and farm wagon and disc cultivator. VERY nice detailed items, all! -
How often do you visit Hobby Lobby?
george 53 replied to dantewallace's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just saw this, well actually, i saw it a bit ago an i'm just now throwin in my two cents. Our Hobby Lobby honestly is as bare as Micheal's! They both have what, maybe a DOZEN kits to choose from, nothing NEW, like the 99 Mustang or 50 Olds or 57 ford, just the monkee mobile an 25th snapper peterbilt, an stuff like that. They have a few military kits, Planes an tanks an ships , but there's not a real big selection of AUTOMOTIVE stuff. They BOTH have a pretty nice selection of paint though. At least ours do, but they pretty much sux in everthing else. Our LHS closed up over a year ago,and things have pretty much dried up as far as local places to buy supplies is concerned. -

-
WOW! wat an idea! That sounds like a killer! If your gonna build the body like you did those hood louvres, it's gonna be even MORE kiler'r!(does that make sense?) You GO bro!!!!

IF you DON'T wanna try makein yer own, Chuck(yeah NOT likely, knowin you!) Cuzzin Al overt Ma's Resins sell a REALLY nicely cast 69 Toronado Bench seat. It was called the Strato-Back bench seat, it's a Bench seat, with individual bucket seat backs and a center armrest. they were standard on the Toro's and REALLY look NICE!
-
A BIG box! Nice job Sam, it REALLY adds life to an otherwise static model!
-
Isn't it NICE when ya finally BUILD that old kit?!? Oh yeah, thats gonna be a nice one for sure!

Waaaaay back in 1970, my Mom MADE my Dad take me out buy me a car(Or rather pic one out,caz I paid for it!!!)after he took back the 52 Chevy me an my big brother had put a 283 two spd automatic in. I picked a Cuda JUST like this one. Dad opened the hood an immideatly closed it. It was a 383 Automatic an he said NOPE, motors TOO big! I ended up with a VERY NICE 69 Nova SS 350. He said it was a small motor. It was a 350 4spd, but I DIDN'T drive it like I did that day/ I was a good boy. I've ALWAYS loved the 67/69 Cudas!!! Your is beautiful, I LOVE the color combo!!!!
-
Tommy, IF you can find the hood from the AMT 67/68 Camaro's, the can be slighty modded to fit the Revell 69 Camaro. They fit nice.
