The next show at MCCC is in APRIL. They have two every year. One in April, and one in November. Great, isn't it????? -

Joe, Still haven't messed with them! Bought them quite a few years ago. Built the Humvees, but not these. -

Thanks for the info guys. I thought that was one of the differences that helped tell them apart, the Scamp had TWO small rectangular lenses per side, and the Swingers had ONE large single lens per side. Randy, that Swinger is from Scale Coachworks, It should have the decals for the stripe and "Swinger" name on it. I have two of those and they both came with them. I got mine from Mike's Miniatures, he sets up at Detroit NNL's every show.

Got one. Shows JUST how goofy these things have made me! Believe it or not, I only bought it for the side scoops. Turns out, they're WRONG. Usual R/M laziness. Would it have been SOOOO much trouble to mold them PROPERLY???? The Shelby's side scoops have a FOUR sided scoop opening. Similer to the front of a SixPak scoop. The ones in the kit are molded with THREE sides, no bottom lip, like a Hemi hoodscoop. Thats flat out WRONG! Nuthin I cant fix,but it woulda been nice to have it done RIGHT. Still like ANY Shelby(for the MOST part) but like the Cuda, Which Donn already noticed was a bit taller on the distance between the belt sculpture line to the shoulder sculpture line seems to be about a X-acto saws width TOO tall. Still, they're tryin so I'm buyin. I'll fix watevers wrong with them, TO ME, and just keep on buildin! Glad to see some NEW kits, PERIOD!!!!

1/25 Revell '70 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda 2'n1
george 53 replied to MachinistMark's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Tim,it looks like there is a small very prominent flare molded into the rear wheelwells. It looks like it foiled nicely, but did you need to kinda reduce it in size, or rather how far it sticks out from the fenders sides? I matched it up to a mint 70 MPC Hemi Cuda and they DO stick out from the car a bit. NOT BAD, but compared to the MPC kit, they ARE rather large. Did you mod it to foil it, or didja just build that rascal out tha box for photo shoots? Either way,Daddy-O, your came out GREAT!!!! Oh, and guys, Tim is a member of the DMCC, and were PROUD to claim him as ours!!!!(Unless DAAM gotta hold of his ol butt TOO!!!) -
My cousin owed one of these. A B-5 blue "White Hat Special". White vynil roof an white interior and a 440 automatic. That rascal could RUN for the boat that it was!

Resin casting parts - legal?
george 53 replied to Jantrix's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Ha, THAT'S a good one! There are ALL kindsa guys out there casting stuff that OTHERS are selling on THEIR own, only to have THEIR products copied by the low lifes! There are PLENTY of them on E-Bay! Still, if you DO copy someones work, at least have the balls to admit it! I've gotten stuff that I KNOW is copied, but the ORIGINAL is no longer available. -
It's JUST as nice as the swinger, bit I noticed the TAILIGHTS are NOT divided as they should be on the Scamp. No big deal, it's still a REAL NICE lookin car!

Used tape for a fabric look on interior.
george 53 replied to retired & glad's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Great tip, Richard! I gotta roll of that in my med box! Never woulda thought of it! Looks GREAT! Thanks! -
I don't think I've EVER waited more'n a week for my stuff! MAYBE 10 days, but no more. Modelhaus is ON THE BALL!!!
-
BUT, they ARE kinda weird. Don't know if it's NATURAL or the fumes from the resin, but basically, they are harmless. No, must not be the fumes, cause they're weird even when they're NOT in the Batcave!

DAAM and DMCC put on a GREAT show! Be there or be square!!!!!

An buisness issa BOOMIN!!!!

Sam, you DO KNOW that ALL FACTORY hoods for the AAR's had the slight buldge in them about 1/3rd of the way up the hood from the front, (Kinda even with the top of the scoop opening), din't ya? Thats ok if ya din't caz at this scale ya probably couldn't see it, but it IS there! WHY it's there has never really been explained to me,though. But it is.

I like your Crown Vic. I built one just like it. It makes me kinda crazy that Lindberg DIDN'T pop it as a FULL detail kit, it's THAT nice! I have another one, just waitin to see what I can use for an engine compartment before I start cuttin on it! i heard a Taurus Sho e/c would fit, but NOT without allota work ,to me. I DO like those wheels!
