Thanks for the lo down, bro. i saw the show before, but I don't really WATCH it, so that why i was aware of the Turboed Monte Carlo. SAw this truck, or one that LOOKS like it, on U-Tube, liftin the wheels an screamin down the track. Too funny/cool!!!! Yeah, keep the ULTRA sleeper look, the Wing just adds to the illusion. Put a little 25th scale IRON up there next to it! Get it? -
I've often wondered why most guys recommend useing black wash or India ink or whatever, when there are no black lines in those areas UNLESS it was a painted over black car. Not that it looks bad, it DOES define the lines, but I always thought a darker shade of the same color would be more appropriate. your little Dart came out pretty good!

John, nobody makes a standard interior for the 70 JoHan Roadrunner. Models By Hart, Vaughn Hart, sells a 69 bench seat interior for BOTH the JoHan 69 Roadrunner, AND AMT/ERTL Roadrunner. If you can get ANOTHER rear seat from a JoHan Roadrunner(I lucked out and found a few of them at the local toy show.)then you can make a front bench seat. I've done it twice now. It's not hard at all.REMEMBER the color of the Accent stripe on the front seat UNLESS it was a BLACK interior, had a contrasting color. I did mine in silver grey, as it was on the cars I modeled. -
Got the Ranchero just last month thru a Squadron Shop E-mail sale.. Only paid 21.99 for it. Then i get the Monthly Catalog, and it's on SALE from 50.00 to like 48 or so.On close out or like this is the ONLY way I'll buy a Trumpeter CAR kit.I have each one they've sold so far,( except the fire engine)and EACH one of them has some goofy little thing ya GOTTA fix. Nope, not at the prices they're askin! They better be as good as Tamiya kits for THAT kinda cash. Their AIRCRAFT kits are just jewels!

take the GTX emblems off the GTX and you've gotta RoadRunner!. I have Kenny's 70 GTX, and his 71 Scamp. Both are EXCELLENT castings.( you can get a JoHan RR grille from the modelhaus.) -
Whats the most you would spend on a model.?
george 53 replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
200.00 bucks. The most i EVER paid for a kit.Unbuilt 68 MPC Impala SS. Paid 160 for a 24th scale De Havalland Mosquito, the most I've ever paid for an aircraft kit. -
Our neigbor had one of these things. They were as big as a barge. They were HUGE!

Monograms 69 Coronet 440 six pack. Still a B-Body though. That idea of bulgein the fenders should work out real nice. I've seen it done that way on quite a few other body's. lookin good already!

The Batmozeen, for them nights when there's nuthin happ'nin in Gotham, the B'man can make a few extra bucks. -
To be honest with ya, i don't think the Hemi came with the "Ramcharger" cold air option in 68. i don't remember ever seein one with opened hood vents. In 69 you could tell if it was cold air by the red screens in the hood vents. Just an ol fart tryin ta remember. I could be wrong.

Check out Steve Kohler overt Star Models. He carries quite a few different casters and maybe one of them may have one. Also, Try Ron Andrews overt RMR resin replicas, he has quite a few big chevy cabs he might have one.

Oh YES, THIS is wat it's all about. i HAVE to agree with Harry that we should NOT have to do these mods OURSELVES for the price paid for the product. But since it's wat we got, an it's only plastic, CUT that rascal up! YOU sir, give me hope and knowledge that we plastic cutters are alive and healthy! i may not cut it quite as well as you, but I don't let that stop me! GREAT conversion, THANKS for shareing it!!!!! -
Gotta agree, It IS a great lookin job! Not a kit you see built up often though. You did a GREAT job. GREAT color!

Missing Link sells a BEAUTIFUL dashboard conversion for this and the 69 GTX kit. Comes with a modified dashboard, with the instrument panel removed and a beautiful crystal clear instument panel display that looks GREAT! Plus, he also sells a CORRECTED version of the 68 Roadrunner tailights, cast in translucent RED resin so you can dump those cheap chrome things AMT calls tailights!
