  1. Briz, this car ACTUALLY EXISTS!!! In McAllen/Edinburg Texas, there's a guy who built it back in 90/91 to advertise his wrought iron fence buisness. It looks EXACTLY like THAT, It's even the SAME color!! He has a windsheild in it, but that's the only glass in it. It runs, the doors, hood and trunk lid all function, and it's pretty cool to see it rollin down the street. I last saw it in 94 when we moved my parents back to Michigan, but it sure is cool!
  2. Chris is right there Gary. Modelhaus is the ONLY guy I know of that even CASTS this kinda stuff. He has quite a few roof and windsheild sections for guys who are restorers. I think he's your ONLY game for that roof! Good luck with your build!!!
  3. Rick, I keep my decals inna zip lock gallon freezer bag, with two of those little barrels of dessicant in them. I've done this for YEARS an my decals are still in GREAT shape! I DON'T use the little pillow type, so I DON'T know it they'll mess with the decals themselves. I'm afraid that the pillows TOUCHING the decals can transmit moisture thru the wrapping onto the decals, hence my useing the little barrels. BUT they DO work!!!!
  4. So I'm assumeing it's decal set???
  5. Matt, them die cast models are Harry's forte! Now i just look at simple things to try a tell what it is. Like this one looks like there's no weight on the tires. Maybe they's run flat Michelin's???
  6. Uhhhh,Mick, what IS "Mr.Mark Softer", and will MRS. Mark Softer even LET ya DO IT???
  7. For a minute there i THOUGHT it was REAL! Then i RE read the thread and realised you BUILT the lathe!!! THAT is TOO COOL!!! If you could have it cast, I'm SURE it would have ALOT of buyers! I know I'd like one! BEAUTIFUL job. Whooda thunk of buildin a scale lathe? GREAT job!
  8. Jeff you clown, you KNOW ya ain't UPDATED yer site inna 1,000 years!!! Methusala usta order his models from you!!!!
  9. Around here, the insurance company MIGHT NOT even pay a claim off BECAUSE of the suspicious nature of the theft! The guys are right though, caz it was a FLAT OUT STUPID thing to do.Honestl he DESERVED it for being such an IDIOT! With the top DOWN no less! I had a 62 chevy impala that had the same type of ignition as that car, and if you DIDN'T turn the key to LOCK, it could be started without the key. Heck, even in lock, you could stick a screwdriver in it an still start it! This foo will have a good fight comin from the insurance co. what he did was plain ol ASKIN for it to be stolen!!! That bad boy is probably in the Phillipines by now!!!!

  11. Tom, they DON'T, WE do. Todays kids, at least ALOT of them need that "Want it NOW" kinda attitude, and you MUST build a model, an they loose interest really fast. It IS up to us older guys to keep them interested, and help them stay interested. Most kids don't have the patience for it, but for those that do, they'll have a lifetime of building pleasure to look forward to!!!
  12. Marc, just usein a 25th scale ruler, with 25th on one side a 16ths on the other, it measures out to about 7 inches long WITH the top half of the coil attached. You know, the tan/brownish top coil wire part. it's 5 by 5 inches square. They come two inna pack, WITH the Accel decals. It LOOKS pretty accurate, an it LOOKS like the super coil on Joys camaro. I just have this 25th scale ruler, so I appologise for not being able to give you more specific measurements. But they're cast in two seperate peices, and when they're assembled, the look purdy durn good! I HOPE this helps somehow!!!
  13. A HUNNERT YEARS OLD???? Holy Shamoly, your OLDER than MODEL CARS!!!!! Hope you have a GREAT day, and many more!
  14. Ron, I just checked overt the Modelhaus site, an sorry, my bad, i WAS wrong! He doesn't make one. But i do have the Jimmy Flintstone body, and it is a nice enough casting to start off on. If you can catch him at a show, he sells just the body for only 10 bucks! Ya can't beat his price!
  15. You might also try the Modelhaus. i THINK he has one also, and Don goes that extra length to MAKE SURE his stuff is accurate!
  16. Guys, I just got a few things, namely some Accel Super Coils, and MSD 6 boxes from Kris, and he thru in a set of Hemi DUAL PLUG valve covers AND the twin distributers to fire 'em. The castings are up to Kris's usual high standards, Nice an clean, with NO pits or bubbles to worry about, the Dizzy's are PRE WIRED and excellently cast, so you won't have any trouble useing them. Personally, I think Kris sells some of,if not THE BEST lookin distributors on the market! Check 'em out guys, I'm SURE you WON'T be sorry! I for one, am NOT!!!!
  17. TKM????? You sir are a SCULPTOR!!! To make a worthy representation of ANY kind with as Jeff puts it, "A bar of SOAP" takes TRUE courage! You Dun GOOD! If you can do that with a TKM kit, YOU don't need ta fear ANYTHING!!! AND your a better modeler than I! I wouldn't TOUCH a TKM kit, much less pay good money for one!!!
  18. TRucks??? Big or small, we got em! Down near the bottom of the index page you'll see a whole section just for trucks! These guys know ALL about 'em. Me I just drive a pick-up occasionally, so that's as far as I can go. But the other guys can probably build 'em in their sleep! Check out the threads by Tim Ahlborn, He's our Truck Master in residence!
  19. THAT would be GREAT!!! I remember he was talking about 5 bucks a set. I THINK you were gonna get TWO mini-men per pack. It sure would be nice to have em back, Tamiya's Campus Freinds are getting hard to find.
  20. Welcome Tom! You'll like it here i bet! there's a BUNCHA cool guys here that can help ya out with ANYTHING! Pull up a chair, pop open a favorite beverage, an just jump into ANY disscusion you want! the more the better!!!
  21. You did a REAL nice job on it Dan. You DO know that to make an ACCURATE 2+2 out that kit, you HAVETA remove about 3 scale scale inches from that kit. Use the custom rear tailight panel to replicate the PROPER tailights on it, and relocate the rear wheelwells once you've shortened the body. OR you can wait till my blood Ariel Hernandez comes out with his cast version of a PROPER 65 2+2 (which i mastered the body on) comes out. it's been in the works now for a while, but i think the wait will be worth it, he's added all the little things I couldn't, like proper 2+2 markinings and associated details. Yours came out NICE! I RELLY like the color!
  22. Sometimes R&R is the ONLY game in town, so if I REALLY want one, I'll bite! He casts the ONLY 70 Buick GSX in exsistance, so it was worth it to me. They DO need a bit of work, but nothing a person used to working with resin shouldn't be able to handle. SOME of his kits ARE near junk though, so IF you can't buy them in person, like FROM RAY, you should listen to ANY advice Steve can give ya. I bought his 53 Merc, and without actually cutting the body up to fix the porportions,it's a MESS! But, it'll stay on the back burner till i feel like messin with it, which is a shame, caz I really wanted to build it. It was the car I came home from the hospital in when I was born.
  23. Bill, THAT was hilarious!!!!!!! I LOVED IT! actually made me LMAO!!!!!!!
  24. Wasn't someone JUST askin about a Lenco??? Welp here's a perfect example of one! Looks GOOD !
