Kevin, MAYBE you can use the boot from the AMT/Ertl 70 Challenger? It comes with a convertable boot in case you build it as one. Hth.

Actually, Harry makes a good point about the "Floating Alternators". If you just START doin it NOW, you'll get USED to doin it and it'll be a natural thing to put brackets on em, an Harry'll be a happy camper, an your alternaters WON'T be "Floaters" no mo!!!!!

If you use the small red plastic tube from a WD40 can, you can do the same thing. Just put your finger over one end, dip the other end in the kicker, and once you have it in position, just remove your finger from the end and the kicker will flow out acting on the glue. There was a company that sold glass tubes for doing the exact same thing.

In over 50 years of modeling, I have NEVER smashed a model. I like them too much. I've blown 'em up with firecrackers, rolled 'em down driveways INTO oncomeing traffic, and flat out set them on fire,even, but i've never lost my temper at one and smashed one. Even as a kid, if it got on my nerves and it wasn't going the way I wanted, I just walked away and came back later. I just couldn't/can't see smashin something I paid good money for. But hey, that's just me, an you all already know I'm weird!

Not to be picky Phil, but the exhast pipes are on the opposite sides of where they should be. They should run under the driveshaft hump, alongside the the driveshaft. Still a good lookin job so far, keep it up!!!!

Weren't those cast from the old Aurora"Monsters of Hollywood" series of kits? They had the Phantom of the Opera, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon too. NICE detail painting!

If you can't find plastic peices, maybe you could use some small diameter aluminum tubeing. Just flatten the ends of it, drill a small hole in it, and pin them in their proper location. They'd be ALOT stronger than plastic, and you could polish it to a nice shine! Hth.

Richie, the MPC 69 Camaro is really NOT all that great a kit to start with! If you REALLY want a NICE 69 Camaro, the Revell Camaro, in any of it's varients is the best place to start. The body lines on the MPC Camaro are almost as bad as the old Monogram 1/24th Camaro. As for your question, The Camaro, for 69 came with anything from a straight six to the 307 V8 to the monster 427 L-88 all aluminum big block. Hth.

Not to be picky, but if your GOING to draw attention to the chassis with extra detailing, you need to remove the company trademarks from the chassis, it'll clean up that chassis, and WON'T draw attention from all your nice detail painting. This is NOT a dig, just some free advice. Your doin a GREAT job so far!

AS crazy as it sounds, I once painted a 68 Barracuda with Kiwi Liquid Shoe Polish! Used a q-tip for a brush too. Came out pretty nice actually. The polish was thin enough to flow VERY smoothly onto the bare plastic, an left NO q-tip strokes at all. This was back in 68 and I no longer have it to show. But, as they say, "Adversity is the mother of invention", an you can come up with some pretty weird stuff when you have to. IF it works, all the better!!!

Actually got a coupla Turbo's from Shucky just to try doin something like this! Those lil mustangs are pullin some INCREDIBLE times usein twin turbos! Yours is lookin ALOT like I HOPE mine will!! GREAT job so far, it's lookin REAL good!!!!
