Nice build. I bought a resin body like this (with the same thing in mind) at a toy show with the hood molded in.Very nice clean white resin.Don't know who cast it, but it is a very nice casting. Yours came out VERY nice, I hope mine looks half as good! Great job.
WOW!!!!! This build is incredible!!! A 1/8th scale 68 Vette. WOW! Your also planning to build the Phase III Vette too? Man, THAT would be tha MOOK! This is already a beautiful conversion, an you'll DEFINATELY be the ONLY kid on the block with one(or two)! GREAT job!
I would imagine FINDING a 68 Skylark would be the first hurdle. I didn't know about Perry's 68, but R&R has one too. Like ALL R&R kits, it IS doable, but not without some effort. It does build up nicely though, it just doesn't FALL together like the better castings do, but it IS workable.
Oh, you mean Jimmy Beds!!! J/K we got them all over Deeetroy too, but i never knew 'em as Jersey Barriers! They WILL stop a car, but Semi Tractors don't have much trouble movein 'em!
Javier, THAT is a BIG crack, my brother! I myself would use a good liquid glue( I use Ambroid) and get that crack as smooth as I could, then repaint it. I KNOW you didn't want to, but sometimes to save a life ya gotta do what ya DIDN'T want to do. Just life Bro, just life........good luck.
I'm the same way, Luis. I got at least 3 different things goin at once! Probably why I never finish anything!!! But yeah, If one is gettin to me, I'll just walk away or just turn to another kit. It IS supposed to be fun, NOT a chore! B)
Thank you Harry, for that picture. Your plans for the orange peice are great. I was just thinking of a simpler method, but your LOOKS real good! An that's the point. I like it!
Bein how it's a Pontiac Sporty car, maybe you could use the 8 lug sport wheels that came in the 65 Bonneville/Grand Prix kits, keeping it all Pontiac in house. Either way, it sure is comming out BEAUTIFULLY! Very interesting idea.
Thor, That is TOOOOOO COOOLLLL!!!! I built one of these as a luxu-rod, came out nice, but THIS is tha MOOK!!!! Never saw one before, that's for sure. NOW I have! GREAT build, Imma keep watching this now that I found it! GREAT idea, YOU Rock!!!
Got mine Friday, an it was the usual good stuff! You guys are gettin better at this! Even the Post Office delivered the last TWO issues with NO problems!
Got mine yesterday and I was VERY pleased with it. I didn't mind the Hot wheels article, not MY speed, but ALOT of guys dig them. I Liked the Funny car article. All in all, ANOTHER GREAT ISSUE! Thanks,Gregg,Harry,Mark an crew!
When I saw the title I thought it was the old 60's era chopped 34 Ford sedan powered by an Allison aircraft engine. It thought, hey THAT would be cool, But THIS is even COOLER!!!! That think gonna be like 5 thousand horsepower!
GREAT job,Roger! Who's kit is it? Is it resin or did you mod an old JoHan kit? That Engine compartment is beautiful! LOVE that intake set up! VERY NICE! ;)
It's lookin GREAT Mike! I know it's a small thing, but those of us who were around then, and were surprised as heck to see how cheep they'd gotten, not realising that it was done that way to keep the weight and cost down, won't ever forget it! The VERY first 68 RR i ever saw was EXACTLY like the one your building, owned by a WOMAN no less!!!
Das REAL!!! I rolled one of these over at 14 . That thing was built like a TANK! All we needed to do was push out the roof in some places! But that car, dented roof and all lasted about another 10 years AFTER that! That's when America made REAL cars, and NOT these junk econoboxes that we make NOW!. It's REAL!
