If you add a modern pickup truck, And three men at the still site you'd have Discovery channel's Moonshiners! as Mark and Digger used this concept this season on the show along with Jim Tom, They first made apple rye then hazel nut rum on their 2 still set up.

Modelhaus email response
ranma replied to khier's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What I think they are saying is That they are trying to catch up on the order's that they have had just before their loss of their son. It also say's that their site is open and order's are being taken,But they are letting you know that your order will take longer to fill. The death of their son was unexpected, and being such takes longer to come to terms with. Unlike the passing of both my late wife and my Dad, we knew they were going to pass, So it was easier to let go. -

ranma replied to rusty85's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Jada makes a die cast , And I seen a resin copy on a yahoo image search. As to who made the resin ??????? You could try to alter a Lindberg dodge dragon wagon van into a ford as the body looks simular to ford's -
It would be nice if the Oldsmobile would also come with a regular hood and 442 decal's

Question on which hood this is
ranma replied to Nova-ss's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
While frame weight might be diffrent, Keep in Mind that when Ertl made the 4070 a and the F-4270 kit they shared the frame. Thus the first issue of the Transtar II had the 4070 A frame/suspenision . The 4300 got the same frame/suspension from the second Transtar II, So using the 4300 kit would just be a frame update. One has to remember that International Harvester trucks (Transtar F Series ) ranged from 4200 up to 4370. You could also update the resin hood to the headlight design of the 4300 kit. Just by cutting the light area's out. When Ertl changed the 4270 into the 4300 they added the extra length to the hood and cut the headlight area for the new haedlights. The Extra length of the hood seem is visable on the Original 4300 release, Just check the underneath part of the hood. Also Keep in mind some of those trucks were special Ordered trucks and things were added or deleated depending on what the customer wanted. -

Question on which hood this is
ranma replied to Nova-ss's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sorry the Paystar is of the 5000 series. The 4200, 4270,4300 are all Transtar series. I don't know who made the resin hood, But you can use the 4300 kit to make the (4200) 4270, As they share the same cab, The paystars cab is simular but the fire wall is diffrent than the transtars firewall. -
Even though I did not have these kit's before, I did manage to get them because I always wanted these: original kits, 1958 Nomad, 1960 nomad, 1966 Johan Ambulance (got 3 ) and I just won a 1968 Cadillac Convertible off ebay. As for kit's that I had when I was young that long ago were destroyed, and since then I've replaced : Transtar 4070 a, Transtar F-4270, S-Series F-2575, Transtar II, Transtar 4300, and the IH Scout

Forgive me if I'm wrong, But didn't amt use a loaned kit of the mack cabover to make a new mold for the kit's reissue? If they could do that then maybe the 60 El Camino/Nomad would be reissued? Plus many kit's such as The 4070 A, Transtar 4270, and more. There are unbuilts out there that they could aquire to redo molds for new reissues.

He also run's a resin company called Scaled Visions (same Address as Reliable resin)

1977 GMC Pickup Engine Replacement
ranma replied to WigWag Workshop's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If you want a better detailed chevy engine, My choice would be getting it from the 66 Impala kit. Then just cut off the transmission on the engines, and glue the pickups tranny to the 66 Impala's engine block. I did this to one of the snow plow GMC 's that I had built. -
Thanks for all the kind remarks. Even though I'm not a ford fan I do like long roof cars!

ranma replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well It could be done as amt did with the Chevy 1500 silverado's They made the promo and full kit. so they could change the mold's and have opening hood, engine ect. Just a thought! -

I said that because someone else posted for revell to do one from the 60 impala molds. and yea I know amp,smp , both became amt products. Besides If the molds are in fact still around, I'd think it would be easier to retool them than doing that to the Revell mold's.
