Many of the safety devises we have today were on the Tucker then, They include: safety glass winshields, padded dash, seat belts, disk brakes , just to name a few. The car The big 3 said that all those things implied that the car was not a safe car. And make no bones about it the big 3 would love the telsa to go the way of the tucker.

We need a '60 El Camino
ranma replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Since Both the wagon and the el camino were both kits at the same time, would they not be two diffrent molds and not one? I got a copy of the 60 El Camino and a resin copy of the 60 wagon. I would love to see both reissued as "old" new stock ( Vintage box look) but molded in white. -

New idea for Mobieus Lonestar
ranma replied to lapazleo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sorry but International Havester don't produce trucks under that name since 1985! It became Navistar, and now is knowen as Navistar International. The harvester name and logo are used by Case IH. Also Most Navistar trucks are special ordered in one way or another. More than likely the Lonestar pictured above was a special ordered truck. -
Two day's ago: Johan 64 Cadillac convertable plus a sealed Cannon ball run Chevelle. Yesterday: MPC Pontiac Fiero GT (red car on box) plus a 76 Chevy Vega Promo (molded in green).

World Record Semi Truck Jump

They said it landed hard and blew one of the front tires upon impact. Makes you wonder how much damage the rest of the truck substained. -

Just when you thought GM's recall's were bad. Now Chrysler/fiet recalls 500 thousand trucks, because the computer system can be hacked into. -

I'd go with black. Most GM engines in the late 70's were a light blue. -
There is a guy who drives one of those Oldsmobile wagons Here in Van Wert. Pain'ts faded on his but the car still looks good. Revell culd retool the alternomad and make the Chevy caprice wagon while supplying the grill and such for the road master and Oldsmobile wagon. Roadmaster and Olds tags as well as the caprices could be decal's.

Hope this thread don't turn ugly. But I my self would like to see: 1. 59-67 Impala wagon kit's 2. 59-64 ford country squire Kit's 3. Brady Bunch Plymoth wagon 4.70-77 Chevy, Pontiac or Oldsmobile wagon's I know some will say wagons are stinkers and why model companies should not do it, But with the suscess of the 57 Frod Del-Rio it could happen!

ranma replied to unclescott58's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Before it was round 2 Ertl had a 800 number to call them about a problem, They didn't just send the part you needed but the whole kit.! -
Revell discontinued Del Rio wagon.
ranma replied to kingiguana's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Steering wheel is easy! just add a horn ring, that is not hard to do. any modeler can add it to this steering wheel! -
Red and the gold ones are listed on their site $49.99 due later this year. Rather have the white scout traveler though. Doors open along with the tail gate, But the hood is cast closed.

Leepu + 81 Camaro = Ugly car. Leepu + 72 Ranchero = Even worse ugly car. Leepu + japanese car = more ugly cars. It looks like Leepu loves pointy fronts on his cars.

S series international
ranma replied to chris02719's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
All of the Transtar series of truck kits had plenty of chrome. But that's not the reason the S-Series weren't a big seller. The Paystar 5000 kit's also had less amount of chorme, and there was several diffrent issues of the paystar. They were as follow's: Cement mixer, Dump truck, logging truck, and just a plain paystar 5000 truck. The biggest reason the S-series failed was the extra long frame it had in the kit form, the box clearly showed a shorter framed s-series truck. The S-Series had three veration's that were kitted, those were the F-2575, F-2476 and F-2478 dump truck. Just because the truck was a big seller in the 1:1 did not equate to it being one in 1/25. As I stated before the first reason this kit failed was the long frame, sencondly for the F-2575 the grill was wrong as well. These trucks go together very well when being built, I myself am lucky that I have four of them built in my collectiont Of IH trucks.
