I am happy to see a renewed interest. I made a body and hood today and they turned out pretty well. I have not made much of anything for a few weeks and am out of practice. -
When the "solution" is the problem!

I moved to Arizona in 2000. They gave me a drivers license that is good till 2023. This year they decided to make everybody come in and get a new license with an updated picture. CHA CHING! Another $12.00 per person. Another way to suck more money out of everybody to fatten the state piggy bank ontop of the fee for an emissions test. And my new license is still only good to 2023. -
Really nice! That is some DAHM good work. pun intended.

Hi James, If I were moving there I would contact Dave Ramsey. Dave Ramsey is a Christian based Personal Financial guy and deep in the real estate market. He has a radio program where people call in and ask all kinds of financial questions about the messes they have made or inherited. They have a money guide called Financial Peace University and they can direct you to a good honest real estate person in the area as one of Dave's listed ELP's or Endorsed Local Providers. A person really has to jump through a lot of hoops to get on Dave's list. Dave is very rich! So, check out there website and give them a call. I am certain they will be happy to help you get settled in a new home or apartment and help you with your personal money matters too. Good luck. http://www.daveramsey.com/home/ -

Hi all, I learned about overcoming a problem painting resin parts. I thought I would post this here. I do some custom resin work for a guy named Mike. He asked me a question that I was absolutely useless to answer. So Mike asked Don the Modelhaus guy and here is what Mike related to me. Hopefully this will be important to you. Mike is a professional model builder and deals with mostly promo cars and is also a body and paint guy on real cars. I personally use the SMOOTH -ON TASK 8 resin. That resin is designed to withstand a good amount of heat. Greg Hi Greg, Don Holthaus came up with the solution to the stubborn mold release/paint problem on the resin hood. He said to bake the part for an hour or two at 125 degrees and that would sweat out any contaminates that were imbedded in the resin. It worked, I baked it, cleaned it with PPG 330 and primed it with a 2 part urethane primer/sealer with no problems. Made me a little nervous to heat up the part but it was only a hood, not sure I would do it on an entire body. No more resin parts or kits from sellers I don't know. I'll stick with Modelhaus or your stuff. Mike

Mark. You should join the Moonlight Model club and or the Cactus Car Model Club. Our Desert Scale Classic model show is coming up in April. We also do build sessions on Certain Saturdays.

It would be great if GM would put the light dimming switch back on the floorboard. My all time favorite joke but is outdated. General Motors announced today that it would be putting the light dimmer switch back on the floorboard of it's vehicles as there are too many(place favorite school name here, Purdue University for example) engineering graduates getting their feet tangled up in the steering wheel. -
There is a guy here at work that had surgery on his back and neck and is doing very well. My sister in law had back surgey and it went well too. She was mis diagnosed several times for whatever reason. She is a teacher on her feet all day long.

She is a beauty. Congratulations on a job well done.

I use Smooth -On Task 8. It will take a lot of heat and is pretty much chemical proof once cured. A body left in a hot car will not warp like the 300 series resin will. I am also using some Polytek Flex resin and their clear too.

OK, a 1936,,,,,, WHAT ?

I am constantly fascinated by all the steps and people it takes to build a car but more fascinating is the design and placement of all the massive equipment it takes to create the cars. I have seen movies of how the Hoover dam and the Panama Canal were built too. -

I tried to do an internet order one time and I could not get it placed. I just figured they were out of business.

Hi Scott, It's great to see you are starting a site. I do like the Smooth-On products. I personally moved away from using the 300. They have a resin called task 8. This resin cures harder than the 300 and will withstand a good amount of heat. It will become chemical proof as well. People building models and traveling to contests will appreciate this resin. I have made bodies out of the 300 that warped from just setting on the shelf. Really hot water will make it easy to change shape. I would be happy to send you a sample that you can try and you can do your own comparison. I made a tool for my job out of it and it sets in a Dodge Caravan most of the day. I picked it up after it was first made and set in the van in the hot Arizona heat and it did not flex one bit when I gave it a good squeeze.
