  1. I will be watching this one too. I started one of these conversions with an original issue. Now with the kit back out, I want to do more. One thing for anyone making a Stock Ambulance or hearse. The Step Bumper in the kitwas not offered untill the 60 model year. Too bad that AMT/Round2 did not tool up a Standard bumper for this re-issue since they did see fit to include the decals from Both the First & Second movies.
  2. I want to do one with the Aeromax too, but it will be White. Hopefully that is! Alan Kulwicki's Championship rig. The reason the AMT Race trailer is not very accurate is that it Never was a Race hauler. That is their Allied Van Lines Trailmobile van with the Bill Elliot decals and some interior parts added. Notice 2 doors on Each side instead of a single on the right side in most. They also offered it as the Kraco Cart/Indy car hauler. Most of the Semi trailers for the teams by then were 45 footers, while the AMT Moving van is only a 40 footer. The insert only has room on the car deck for One car, when teams carried 2 up there. I have one of those Coors/Elliot trailers and only plan to use the decals on a scratch-built one The 1/32 scale Monogram Transporters are more accurate I have the K-Mart Andretti Indy set and both Texaco Havoline Davey Allison & Hot Wheels Kyle Petty nascar sets. The Davey Allison set has a Lounge in the front of the trailer, while the Andretti set has a mini-machine shop with tools like a Drill press, etc
  3. He means Smoothside (Non-stepside){Wide-side}. Like Chevy/GM's Fleetside Fleetside has become the 'Name' we use for that type bed. Like we say Kleenex for facial tissue(Nose wipes) Or that Dirty 'G' word when they mean Internet Search
  4. How many Unemployed have one?? I don't get Social Security, SSI, etc. Mom & Sister do, but not much. I get a few dollars a week during Grass cutting season!! Too many places here have closed, No hiring!
  5. For Ordering instead of finding them in a Hobby Shop, I will need a US location., and one I can MAIL (Snail) order from. I do not have any way of electronic payment (Unemplymnet) so must send a Postal Money Order. The One friend whom I traded Christmas & birthday gifts with has stopped doing that, so I can not ask for paybay or similar Gift cards. I Do like that G4 6 wheeler!!
  6. If it was the Hasegawa Caddy, it is a KIT, Not a Promo. Only Jo-Han did the 66 Caddy Coupe De Ville Promo. Hasegawa offered 5 US 66 Cars in kit form. Cadillac Coupe De Ville, Thunderbird hardtop, Buick Wildcat, Pontiac Bonneville and Chevrolet Impala (Actually, from what I have seen, the Chevy is a 65) All are Curbside. The Dash is not accurate. it has a "T" profile with more curvature on the top that the face which is Flat. The detail is a decal!! Interior upholstery is identical in most kits with the only differences being the rear sear area due to roof line. Chassis is also shared between all 5 kits. Hubcaps/rims are shared in most too. The tires are nice BF Goodrich narrows with separate white-wall inserts I have 3 of the kits. Wildcat, De Ville & T-Bird.
  7. I too like many of these. But, where will they be available from in the US??
  8. This flatbed trailer is scratch-built. That is a Lindberg Chrysler Cordoba climbing onto it!! Here is a Small Rescue Squad. First box was made with 'Plastruct'. New unpainted one is Evergreen!
  9. Not sure I want to show any of mine!!. WOW!!!!!! 1/32 scale Mack CF Aerialscope 1/32 scale American LaFrance Pioneer cab Aero-Chief Snorkle (Only the tires/rims & Yellow portion of the front fenders are kit pieces!) Mack CF Heavy Rescue; Very incomplete Emergency-One 135 foot Stratospear Ladder truck; Both Mack builds are based on the Monogram/Revell 1/32 scale Pumper kit The Snorkle & E-One are completely scratch-built save for tires/rims. Lightbars in front of E-One are kit pieces too. Twinsonic is from Monogram Malibu Police car, Aeordyn is from MPC. It was in the Trail Patrol Chevy Stepside, Pursuit Trans Am, and Monaco Police kits. Rotators on the Snorkle are also Scratch-Built
  10. But, Like I said. Last time I looked for it at Michael's they no longer had it. Not sure if H-L has it. Due to no credit card (No Job!!!), I can not order on-line either!!
  11. The Last re-issued 78 Pace Car was Monogram's (Revell box) 1/24 kit. I have one. MPC also did that kit. In fact, MPC had 3 different box art kits for the 78 Vette. Annual, Pace Car, & Silver Anniversary. I have 2 each of the Silver & Pace Car. and had one of the Annuals molded in Yellow. I am not sure if I still have that yellow one.
  12. Yea. You mix it into a Clear paint carrier.
  13. Lets try something. http://www.round2models.com/images/models/mpc779/product.jpg The Picture plaques standing behind the Sub. The parts are the hinge plates for these
  14. One of the Annual CM mag's showed doing this with a 63. All the builder did was remove the floor of the 63's Tub interior, then modify it slightly to fit the 60's floor pan.
  15. Dupont first showed off their "Chrome-Illusion" Paint on Jeff Gordon's #24 at the "Winston" Allstar race a few yews ago. It changed colors showing 5 different colors depending on direction of light hitting it. There is a Pick-up here in town painted with it!!. Looks Gold, Blue, Purple, Red, Green, depending on angle of sight/Sun light on it Michael's Use to carry that "Pearl-X" powdered Paint mix, but I have not seen it in the past several times I have been there. I have not looked for it at the Larger Hobby Lobby yet.
  16. I have too many of those 2 piece tires. I replaced them on many builds. They are in the Red issue All Features 57 Bel Air I have in the 3 car 53, 55, 57 set. I used AMT Firestone Supreme's on one I built in 79. Sold it about 10-15 years later. I think I used Patra red on it.
  17. Does it have to be paired with the Kit Car to have those decals again?? But, We Are getting a Number of Petty re-issues lately, so I was wondering if the LN Race car hauler would be one of them too?? Whether separately or teamed with the Kit Car makes No difference to me!!
  18. I Might get one or 2 again myself. I wonder if the LN hauler will be re-issued with the Petty decals!!??? Be nice to build one painted actual Petty Blue instead of Testor's #8!
  19. Ganassi is DEI not Everingham. The is why they went "Chevy" Cars Number 42 & "1" And yes. RPMS is only Gillette/Everingham--Robert Yate Racing with Richard's name on it. Yates is why The Everingham team changed to "Ford" labels.
  20. We get the G70's in a few kits. Not white walled, but we have gotten them. The F-70's were in the Model King 70 Pontiac Bonneville convertible with Boat. Agin not printed whit the white walls, but we did get them. I was surprised about that though, I thought they had been altered into the similar size Polyglass tires in many mid-size cars since the mid 70's. I too would like to see them white walled again. I would also like to see MPC's original Power-Cushion's re-issued. How long before we get the Firestone Supreme's with Redlines on one side & Whites on the other?? Or even the Blue/Red or Blue/White option??
  21. Well, I told a lot who said that about the Old tool All working features Revell Tri-5 Chevy's, I will Take all you have if you don't like them!!!!! I built this "Woodstock" issue when New. And it is very Easy to fix the doors. Just remove the molded pin on the male hinge piece and make a new hinge pin with a straight pin. the cap of the pin on top will prevent the door from lifting off. (If you correctly glue/epoxy it to the male hinge part mounted to the body
  22. I thought the COT & The previous car Were Generic bodies branded by engine!!! They sure did NOT look like what they called them. At least the few I have seen this month Almost Look like what they claim they are. They Stopped being "Stock" cars Long ago!!!! I gave up on Francecar right after we lost Alan Kulwicki and France started all those design rules!!
  23. I finally got that Stock only Original 50 F-1. and have both the glue & SnapFast Original issues of the Chevy. I need to dig them, out!!! Yes, They are about the same vintage for tooling. I also prefer the separate box parts. Monogram/Revell's method of making the bed floor part of the cab floor & front fenders is interesting, but does block or at least make More work in converting the F-1 into longer boxes, or chassis configurations.
  24. If this is the one I think, The body is separate from the cowl because this kit could also build the Woody wagon. The Original issue had both the Sedan, & Wagon bodies in the box. The Woody was re-issued in the 70's as the "Woodstosck" kit molded in tan. I built that as a Teen(Early) will little trouble. I like the styeering and the Prototypically Corret Butterfly hinged hood in this kit versus AMT's one piece lift off piece. I used spare/extra Hood hinge pieces on my Fire Chief issue of AMT's 32 Vicky
