  1. There are 2 versions of that 69 Olds, The 442 W-30 And the Hurst. also the 68 Road Runner is the original form of that 69 GTX. The GTX is available in 3 forms. Convertible, Hardtop and Pro-Street hardtop. Their 66 442 is a nice kit, and also available in both Hardtop & convertible issues. The Hardtop being re-issued recently Don't over look the 60 Ford Starliner. The recent re-issue has Both Stock & custom/Street Machine parts in one box this time. Their 71 Duster is also a Modern tool and Muscle car appropriate. I see 70 Camaro in his list not 69!! Completely different car. That one I do not have!!
  2. It is, That is the one I have, it definitely is NOT the Arii/Imex kit!!!!
  3. I do believe the Viper in that set is a 92 aka First year or Proto-type from Just before sales started. Most of these sets were simply leftovers stuffed into a larger box. Some of the sets have a flag on them stated that one of the 3 kits is Exclusive to that set. The SnapFast set is one example. The 66 Fairlane GT/GTA Promo Was only offered as a Kit in that set. I have that one myself! There were several from AMT Hot Trucks, Classic Fords 57 T-Bird & Fairlane 500 + 63 Galaxie Sportsroof, Classic Chevy's 58, 63 & 64 Impala's, another Chev set with 64, & 67 Impals, plus a third I forget.
  4. The Pamphlet I have lists all Plymouth & Dodge engines from 1928 to 1960 as Aluminum Aircleaners are listed as black. It also states colors could be reversed black engine with aluminum/sliver aircleaner Valve covers could also be black on aluminum engines, aluminum/silver on black. Dual/tri-carb aircleaners are listed as Gold.. But this was listed as factory. Not sure how good his research was back then. Use Frame captures, watch the movie to determine Christine's engine color.
  5. Revell Of Germany also boxed them. The Rev kits only came in the Regular color option. I have the T-Bird with a Red body. Let me see if I have any of my Gunze Sangyo collection uploaded to my Photobucket. I have SEVERAL of these kits!!!!! Ok, just uploaded them. Here is the regular Blue body; Here is the lower production "Red" body: The boxes shown are Original issue "Hobbies Unlimited", where I bought the Built one, Closed 25-35 Years ago!!!! I Built it NEW, along with the other 2 kits at the time the 59 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz and Impala convertibles. Sold the Impala about 10 years after building it!! Check the Gunze Folder. It shows ALL kits offered, though not all issues of each. The 55 Nomad & 57 Bel Air are the 2 hardest to find. The 57's interior is Not correct for either Coupe Or convertible. The 57 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham uses the 59 Eldorado's chassis & interior only having new side panels!!
  6. Maybe as long as the put the Stock parts back in them. Most of those Old Full functioning kits have been altered to Hot-Rod status and can not be built stock anymore. I would not mind having a few of those again.
  7. Here are the few I have in my photobucket; The Camaro & Torino outer front are the Last issue kits. The AMX & 36 Ford center front, Chevelle, left rear, yellow Jag & 48 Ford are Junior Collector's early 70's issues I believe the black Mustang is an original issue
  8. Depends on what you like or want. The Original 71 annual issue of MPC's Chevy pickup that included the Wedge has 2 options. Chrome (reverse) open steel rims or the stock hubcaps You could use the Dodges rims/caps if you have enough, or anything else you like. Open steel are the easiest to find. So many kits had them Lug pattern is something to think about too is they will be seen. Most Open rims are 5 lug, but 6 lugs were likely more accurate on a heavier Pickup like this will represent
  9. For the "Holiday" hardtop, yes you will need to use the roof from a 62-64 Chevy. You have the 63 & 64 from AMT and all three 62-64 from Revell to choose from. I had plans for one myself(use to be one in the area car club), but the Holiday grill is also different from the Starfire. Backup lights were still just an Option then. The Holiday I photographed did not have them. There is a Pair (Coupe & Convert) of 63 Starfires from a Del. seller on the bay right now for One bid.
  10. My was a bit of a Glue bomb too. I glued the Spider web hubcaps over top the stock ones!! Wish I could find more of the parts from it though!! I would like to try to restore it!!
  11. The Factory engine color was called "Golden Rod. so Yes the E400 engine came from the factory Yellow!! The E475 was green. I replaced the cast belt with thin rubber strip. "Spider Legs" is one Brand I got. I saw it in that former 'Enthusiast' mag some years ago. What I have is actually for Bow string muffling not fishing tackle as in the mag though. I made my own mounts for the Generator & Power steering pump. Guess I need to get close up pic's of those and the belt. Have to find a friend with a Good camera first though!!
  12. No 55-57 BOP paced the Indy 500. But Bonneville Bid in 58!!! 56 DeSoto Pace Setter Convertible 57 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser. Buick go the job in 59, Olds in 60. Want to see my Pace car Projects on the Buick & Olds?? I can show those, but I don't have the Bonneville yet. Yes I too would like to see some of these Buick/Olds/Pontiac's in Kit form. Especially the Safari wagon. Pontiac's Nomad!!
  13. I had the MPC "Vampire Machine" annual, so I too like this one.
  14. And That IS a Revell!!!!! Makes 2 out of 4 known (at least listed here) to be Revell!! I have one of those T-Bolt's too. Wish It could be built as a factory Stock Fairlane though
  15. The re-issues after MPC re-issused the Stock Daytona & Charger 500 have the 'Correct' Stock interior Also, the issue after the Fast/Furious "70" Charger have the correct body I have an unbuilt TV box art re-issue signed by Ben Jones "Cooter"!!
  16. My favorite car!! (Can't tell by my name can you??) I have a few of these started! Converting one of this issue to a convertible. Think I have a Ranchero, Villager wagon, and Limo in-progress too!! (I Beat your 'Class of 58' Here!! Class of 58 EDSEL!!!!!!)
  17. I have a few including a set with Tinted clear bodies. I passed all but that as it was the only Stock set. My W-M has a few on the clearance isle, but still at full price.
  18. No the ones I listed are not Revell. But This Cutlass Convertible Is and it does have the Transmission separate from the engine I am wondering if that means a different one is coming or even in the other issue of the kit. They Did add the Up top to it.
  19. I know of at least 2 others that offer separate Engine & Tranny. AMT's 66 Fairlane GT/GTA has both Manual (GT) & Automatic (GTA) Tranny/s so the Engine & Tranny are separate assembly's. Also the MPC 67-72 GTO's have the Tranny separate from the block. At least all the 67's & 72's I have do. And YES the 2 pc tranny is separate from the engine. Does that mean the other version of this kit has a Different Tranny??
  20. This looks like an original issue so the Interior tub is almost exactly as it was in the #71 K&K Insurance Daytona Charger Nascar. No stock upholstery detail at all. That issue did not include th rear seat. I added one from a Jo-Han Police Fury. I will watch this one.
  21. The Original used Tandem Singles. Only one of the 2 Model-King kits had that extra axle. For Duallys, you will have to modify both the chassis & Wedge body. Starting with the Dodge kit will make the changes easier. You may need to slightly narrow the rear axle, and either widen the body sides around them, or add Quarter round to cover the exposed tires Duallys would be almost manditory now due to DOT regulations, but back in 71 when this kit came out the Tandem Singles may have been acceptible Most haulers like this I saw back then were Single drive Duallys, not tandems. Also the ramp was more of a full width Deck than the narrow ramps of the kit.
  22. The Cooter's kit was never re-issued. It was in the line up for a while, but never came back. The Yellow/White built box art is the first of this truck to return after the Cooter's kit. And we have been told it is based on 2-3 different sets of tooling. ie; original bed from 72 Annual, cab converted from 72 GMC Shortbox Stepside kit. New Chevy grill, etc.
  23. Best thing they could do is go back to the 115 inch wheelbase car and put the early-mid 70's body's on them. That would slow them down AND keep them from Lifting into the air like they do now!! 71-4 Road Runner & 71-75 Charger for MoPar, 71-75 Chevelle/Malibu & 75-77 Monte Carlo for Chevy, 77-79 Cutlass, 70-77 T-Bird. You get the idea
  24. I have several of the truck kits too, but they are a completely separate series from the cars we have been discussing. The cars were all tooled up until 69 (Notice the Newest are the "Class-of-69"!!). The Semi trucks did not come out till 72 or 73. I have a Built Sears issue Pete & Fruehauf 40 Beaded van, a K-Mart with the same pair and the Pepsi set with KW 123 COE instead of Pete 359 conventional. Never got the Tow truck!
  25. The Model King AMT kit should be the old MPC kit. They issued it as the 1#5 Stapac/Sta-Power of Bobby Issac/Buddy Baker. I built one Many years ago. I do not think the Jo-Han kit still exists.
