  1. Nice box top collection. But there is at least one more not included. The "Topless Pickup" version.
  2. They take away accuracy, and narrow the interior of it. Especially the flood/bed. They are more susceptible to warping in a way that requires cutting them apart anyway to straighten. IF they Can be that is.
  3. My Pumpin' Iron issue only had the one grill & hood. It Was opened missing the tires, but there did not appear to be sprue locations that were missing such large parts.
  4. I love this too. Love Wagons, but this is one of the best.
  5. Thanks. They do need to go through the Car/Truck wash though. They are Very dusty due to age!!!!
  6. I have a Free Demo of this or v1. I have the CD/DVD of 18 Wheels Of Steel--Hard Truck. I too use the keyboard, but want a steering wheel controller. I have not really tried Euro Truck yet.
  7. here is the MPC 72 Annual box. One of these was my First version of this era Chevy/GMC Pickup kits!!! Still have most of it.
  8. I believe for the most part the cab is the same in all kits. I know the Parking lights for th 72 are Still in the grill/bumper divider bar!! Also, Though the Pumpin' Iron box art shows the Li'L Red grill, I believe it came with the 79/80 instead. I need to dig it out, but do not remember it having the round headlights of the 77/8 Li'l Red. I built one with the Monogram 1/32 scale Mack CF Pumper body . I got the kit Cheap due to being open and missing the tire.
  9. I have one of his castings. a 60 Olds 98 Convertible. Not the best. It has a Thin Skin filled with Bondo. That fill was still Soft years after getting it. The front grill, bumper, headlights,Rear bumper, Tail lights and Boot cover are all cast in place. The chassis was a Flat plate with locators for brass/copper/metal tube axle mounts. When I got it the windshield frame was broken. I have replaced it and the chassis with the parts from a Monogram 59 Impala.
  10. Believe it or not, There IS a Landmaster in the works!! However, Not many here will want one. It will be PAPER!!!!! I believe the scale will be 1/43 at least on the first offering.
  11. Ertl re-issued these under the AMT name in the 80's. They included all the 'Gangbuster' parts, but not the decals. I got all 3 in the series Licoln Sprt-Touring, Chevrolet Cabriolet, & Chrysler Imperial Convertible. I also have a Stock only MPC Connisouer's Classic issue of the Lincoln Roadster. AMT used the Connisouer's Classic name on their re-issue too. The Ganbuster parts include separate Bullitt rittled windows and radiators, Figures, guns, knives, hand grenades, etc. The Chrysler had a Safe, Briefcase with cash, and a second one with jewels. The Lincoln Touriing a Violin case, Alkie can, 12 clear Bottles and 2 cases for them
  12. Here are a couple pic's of the Ford LN Race car transporter. This is an Original Richard Petty Team set with the Dodge Sportsman Kit Car Petty Enterprises was to sell these for MoPar. Not sure how long they did or if they did I opened all compartments, hinges are cut from 1/16 inch Copper tube. I added the steering too. Paint is Testor's 1208 rattle can. Built Back when New!!
  13. I have the Pontiac & Nova Convertibles as well as the Stock issue Falcon hardtop. Some of the inaccuracies I can see, some I can't. I am disappointed in 2 factors in the Falcon. First, Both THE Bonneville & Nova has Steering kitted, while the Falcon doesn't. Second, The Tires in the Falcon should be the same as in the Nova, (Those match the tires on an Original AMT 64 falcom Promo), but are slightly taller. I can fix both of these. Cut the steering gear apart and assemble with pins to make it movable, and replacing the tires. But I would like to trade the Hardtop for a Convertible before I start modifying it. I have the ALF Pumper too. I would love to get more of that one. The Hobby shop I go tit at ordered it for me, and got a second to put on the shelf. I like that place, but can't get to them as often as I want. He discounts Plastic kits 10 or 15% out the door. They are firstly a Fiber-glass Boat manufacturer. The Shop is in front of the factory. Also, he is in Delaware, NO sales tax!!!
  14. Sounds like the "Travolta" Firedbird. Did it have the 'Whale-tail' type spoiler too??
  15. I Love this. But this is a SUNLINER Not a Starliner. Starliner was the Glass fastback. The Modern tool 60 Galaxie is a Starliner. I wish they would have re-issued this back when they announced it. Not sure what was wrong with the tooling that they dropped it.
  16. Revell Did do Jon's Pickup, Ponch's Firebird, The CHP Camaro (Marked but no lightbar), & the Kawasaki that they rode. I believe the Pickup & Firebird were Snap kits. I believe the Pickup with Plow Is from the same kit as Jon's or the Ice Patrol with Snow mobile I have the Bike. never did get the others. AMT/MPC Could do Face's Vette.
  17. Neither AMT not MPC had any CHiPs kits. Only Revell. The A-Team van can not be re-issued. that kit has been back-dated to the current issue, and soon to be re-issued Fire Department Rescue van.
  18. Yea it is different. Unless his had the side coming Straight down from the Belt line instead of following the curve. That is the problem, I Don't have pictures. I am not sure who I could ask either. My Grandparents are both dead, and most of the rest of the family no longer live on the Island.
  19. I like that!. Too bad they are not normally imported. I do have one, a Box van in the Decotora series. I believe It Is an Isuzu too. Not sure if I will use the Decotora parts or just build it Stock
  20. Use to be a White over yellow Suburban with those graphics here in town!!! Might have to try to bash one! Have to remember to remove the door lines for a rear left door though. Not a standard on Suburbans till the 73 re-design, I would rather do the 70 High-Top Ambulance from Emergency though!!!!
  21. The second frame rails are for a Semi cab. (Very Short--Think IMC Dodge L700) So you Want the stake bed chassis frame rails for that Rescue. I would love to do the Young Canopy cab from Neville Island, Pa. Too bad I have only a few hand drawn sketches with a few measurements. Not sure what happened to her. was at a scrap yard last time I was up there. I actually started one with the Napa box issue of the C, but had no measurements/pic's/drawings at the time. The canopy is different than all others I have seen pic's of. Hope to see this Rescue started.
  22. I would guess that since the real ones were so much alike, the kits should be too. Though, they Blazer/Jimmy parts do not mate up with the pickup kits. I need to take a few pictures, the Crew Chief Blazer box & GMC Jimmy Bushwacker box share an Identical side panel!! I have 2 of the Sierra Grande Longbox Fleetsides, and still can not build One!! Script is almost sanded off on the same side of Both sets of box sides/fenders and not much better on at least one of the other side, if not both also. I have the AMT 70 Chevy Pickup box. Got a Near mint grill and some other parts in it I did get Most of a "Californian" Custom Toronado!! I have 2 67's 1 is a resin conversion, the other Original I have a complete 69, and at least 3 partials I am not sure if I have a 68. I have one of the Racer's Wedge 71's. It was started/painted, and 2 or 3 of the stock hubcaps are damaged I have 2 M-K Blazers and 2 of the Super Parts Pack Wedge/Open Road! Ithink I have 3-4 Built of the 72 Longbox Stepside, besides the one unbuilt, and 2 Heavy Pedal. I need to inventory all those!! Got a BIG parts lot off a Wacko 'bay seller. He could not believe no one bid against me!! There were Cooter's parts in there. Even have a Cooter's to restore!! Oh, One thing I forgot to add before, The Cap/topper in the AMT 69 was first offered in the 68 Hunter's Special re-issue of the 63 F-100!!!! I Have one of those caps!!!
  23. The Die Cast is is completely different than the plastic kits. The GMC Jimmy & Chevy Blazer kits share ALL parts save the grill & Headlights. I have 2 of the M-K issues, and a Crew Chief, one of the Bushwacker, along with parts of the Thunderbolt 1 and others. Look at the chrome tree. The GMC Jimmy badges are Still there, as the 4 GMC headlights are still on the clear tree!! My first of this Pickup was the MPC Annual. Cheyenne. It also had the Tow Truck option. The Racer's Wedge 71 din Not include 2 chassis plates, only 1 with a separate axle to be glue over the spare tire, and the chassis narrowed in that area. I have one of those too. In fact, I have almost one of all of these kits!! AMT started using the Pin in a lowering block on their 69 Annual, while MPC used the Wire rod axle through ALL issues. I thought the Blue Rolling Thunder was the last issue of the Longbox stepside. I have both the 74 issue & Heavy Pedal versions. AMT's versions had Dual exhaust on the chassis, while MPC's had Single with a correct cross-over manifold. AMT's had a flatter single snorkle aircleaner beginning at least in the 69, whil MPC retained the more domed one without snorkle Though Heavy Pedal shows the same Tube grill as Rolling Thunder, it has a more stock grill though deep set in the frame, not flush. The Stock front bumper shown in the box art is not there, the heavy-duty one in Rolling Thunder is. Just checked DPMCC instructions. They do not have all of the MPC kits posted 72 only has the front page of the instructions, no box. the 71 only has one page of instructions showing the standard pickup bed, The decals, and 2 shots of the box I was wondering about those recent re-issue 72's. The Chevy grill is not accurate. Why are they so hard to find though? I see 5 different boxes since the 95 Yellow/White box art issue.
  24. AMT & MPC Both offered 67-72 Chevy Longbox Fleetside kits. Beginning in 69 it is easy to tell them apart, AMT's kit now had the Pins & separate lowering blocks. MPC's kit used the wire rod axle through ALL issuses I have several I can show this. AMT offered the Longbox Sierra Grande's from about 70 up Then sometime in the late 70's or early 80's came out with the Shortbox Stepside. Again I have a few in Both box art. During this time MPC offered a Longbox step side in 3 versions. 1974 issue is called Stepside, molded white, boxart has a Gold built. This issue included the Yamaha Trail bike. Second version of this kit is the "Heavy Pedal" This one was molded in black to match the box art. (I have 2 of this kit unbuilt) Last version is the "Rollin' Thunder". Kit was molded blue, again to match the box art. This time they added a "Sleeper Box" and custom tube grill in the stock grill frame Both this one & Heavy Pedal have a Heavy Duty front bumper. The Heavy Pedal issue still had a Stock 71/72 grill, but it was deep set in the frame, instead of flush.. Almost at the same time, we had the one time issue of "Cooter's" Hazzard Garage tow truck. The Heavy Pedal box has a 1982 copy write date. Cooter's was in that time line too. I do not know the date of issue for Rolling Thunder. I don't have that kit. There is No date on the Original issue Shortbox Stepside GMC, the second issue is dated 1990. It has a wire rod axle for the front like MPC's Chevy's always have, though with 2 position lowering blocks, but it has the single snorkle flatter aircleaner like other AMT versions since at least the 69. MPC's was always the domed unit with no intake snorkle (MPC never had lowereing blocks) The First most recent re-issue of the 72 Longbox Fleetside is dated 95!! The is the Yellow & white box art. Since this issue, they have the Pins for front axles. Also the grill is Not correct. It is too stubby Cut the grill & bumper apart as in the original MPC kit and there is a large gap between them if the grill is mounted at the top of the opening and the bumper in its correct location. There have been 4 total re-issues of this kit since 95, but it still is Hard to find & expensive. Other differences between the kits, AMT mostly had Dual exhaust, MPC single with the correct cross-over Manifold. I am now not sure the Last Fleetside re-issues started with the GMC Shortbox Stepside, but can not believe the Hazzard issue would have made the alterations to the tooling so glaring. Did you know Both offered the Tow Truck options from 67?? However, Only MPC altered the tow bed parts for the Fire Truck, and only MPC offered the Open Road Mini-Motor Home & Racer's Wedge versions.
  25. I have the DW version. Bought it new. As I understand it, Modelhaus actually used this die-cast as the starting point for his 4dr resin kit Not sure if he has done a 2dr.
