  1. Very nicely done! To make a great model a bit greater, you might consider adding the brackets that the hood straps attach to, instead of having the straps just hanging there connected to nothing...
  2. Rather than going through the time and effort of sanding the whole body, you might just want to strip the paint and start over.
  3. There's something funny going on between the wheel and tire on the left rear.
  4. Yes, the blood transfusions was the sticking point, you are correct. And yes, a shame.
  5. Dick Trickle? Seriously?
  6. I agree with Hugh... it's looking very good. Nice work.
  7. PS: Doug, you need to update your avatar! It has white mirrors now...
  8. And how much better looking!
  9. Looks like he shoved the pills down his throat by himself. What I read is that he had severe hip pain for years and really needed hip replacement surgery, but his religion didn't allow surgery. And he was apparently pretty devout so he refused to have the surgery that he needed and instead relied on strong pain killers to get by. Not exactly the doctor's fault if the patient refuses to have the surgery he needs. And not the doctor's fault when the patient takes more medication than prescribed.
  10. I agree... the seats do look pretty good! But I question your color choices... gray carpet would have worked better with gray seats. Based on my reference photos, RR interiors were generally color-coordinated... brown seats, brown carpet...gray seats, gray carpet...black seats, black carpet, etc. But I guess since these cars were highly "customizable" by the buyer, there is no strict right or wrong. But just from a visual standpoint, I think the seats would have worked better if they were gray.
  11. I agree, the clown wheels have to go. Such a beautiful car (and model) deserves a classier set of wheels.
  12. Sure is dark in here. Let me turn on the lights... Oh, now I see it! Very nice.
  13. Same here. What a total waste of time, electricity, washer, etc. Just when you think people can't possibly get any more stupid... along comes one even lower on the evolutionary ladder.
  14. Autopsy reports that he died of a "self-induced" overdose of opioids (pain killer).
  15. I'm leaning towards buying it. Leaning really far...
  16. Everyone needs to look at that photo and see that the raised rib around the windshield is the rubber windshield gasket! 99.999999% who build a model Willys leave that raised rib clear. I see it constantly. Why would you think the windshield glass has a raised ridge around it???? Paint that ridge flat black, fer cryin' out loud!!!
  17. Ok, I have to admit I don't know too many people who had a toy camel!
  18. And that is the model, not the real car!
  19. I see you went with the wiring looms. Nice.
  20. Ray... a good way to simulate a spinning prop is to cut out a disk of clear acetate or sheet styrene.
  21. The Aventador kit is available in several configurations/colors... coupe, roadster, orange, white, black, and this one. This is the one I want. Just have to convince myself that spending $500 on a model kit is a good thing right now... my business is in the toilet, so spending that kind of cash on something so completely non-essential seems stupid. Is stupid. But man, when I see those photos...
  22. My point is that I don't believe we have some sort of duty to bring kids into the hobby, any more than people who are into woodworking or scrapbooking have a duty to bring kids into their hobby. Kids will (and should) find their own hobby based on their own interests. Not based on my interests.
