  1. Just a guess here, but I think you'd be almost sure to break the glass while trying to cut and sand it smooth. You can make your own applicator if you can get hold of a doctor's syringe. Take out the plunger and cut the plastic body to whatever length you want.
  2. I agree that the Korean car makers have advanced by light years in a relatively short time. They don't take a back seat to anyone anymore.
  3. The front end needs to be reworked... it's a bit too busy and "designy." Get rid of the weird fake scoop things on the sides for starters.
  4. Is this your usual tiny model, or 1/24-25 scale? BTW... gotta agree with Dave. The wheels, um, well... another choice might have been more, uh, appropriate. But hey. That's just one man's opinion...
  5. FWIW, I don't remember ever seeing a tire like that before.
  6. I think I remember him saying that he lost it...
  7. Next time I'll type slower so you can keep up!
  8. You guys need to check out Bill Coulter and Len Carsner's feature on building a Hemi Dart in the current issue of MCM (#161). Bill built a strip version, Len did one as delivered from the factory (gray primer and fiberglass front end).
  9. Yeah, I didn't bother to Photoshop it out. "Museum" could mean anything, it doesn't tell you what the car is.
  10. Remember-don't post any hints or answers here. PM me with year, make and model. The answer: 1950 Opel Olympia
  11. Ok, people... I think we've gotten just about all we're going to get out of this thread. And do we really need to know about Chuck's "wild gesticulation?" No problem, no violations, no harm, no foul... I just think it's time to put this one into the archives... don't you agree? Next topic, please...
  12. Nicely done, but I seem to remember that they came with the bumpers either painted body color, or a flat finish very dark gray, almost black... I don't remember them with light gray shiny bumpers.
  13. Cranky, you need to study up on your phrases. It's "shiver me timbers."
  14. Yeah, but don't you do it in "British?" As in "Buggers, that blasted part doesn't fit"...
  15. Why worry about it? It's a hobby, not a job. If you don't feel like building right now, just don't build. I sometimes go for years without building anything. If I don't feel the urge to build, I just don't, and don't think twice about it. And when I do get the urge to build, I build. It's pretty simple, really. Why worry if you don't feel like building anything right now? Who says you always have to be working on a project? If your hobby is a source of stress, you need to get a different hobby! Build when you feel like, don't when you don't, and stop worrying about it.
  16. If you mean the chrome trim, the best way is to use Bare Metal Foil. http://www.bare-metal.com/Using-Bare-Metal-Foil.html
  17. Very nice and clean, nice sharp foil work. I like it!
  18. Very nice, great details... but those wheels could reeeeeally use a black wash to bring out the detail.
  19. If you see it, report it and we'll take care of it.
  20. It's a rule you have to abide by. The forum software edits out certain words.
  21. Final vote: 3 REAL, 50 MODEL. I really thought more of you would be fooled, but I guess not! Yep, it's a model, all right. You guys really got this one!
  22. All you need to replace the oil cap is a piece of round styrene rod. Even a piece of round sprue will work. Or any old thing in your parts box that's about the right size/shape. Very simple to do.
  23. That site has nothing to do with the real Tamiya.
  24. Just curious, but why do you strip the chrome parts and then go and "rechrome" them with Alclad when they were already plated to begin with? Seems like a lot of extra work just to get back to where you already were...
  25. Wow! After that looooooooooong response, you must be beat!
