The website says "Created from 'Modern Era' tooling." So... does that mean a more-or-less accurate kit (besides fury's observation on the seat)? Exactly how old is this "modern era" tooling?

A lot of typical over-the-top auto show stuff there. I do like the Smart scooter and bicycle, though!

The previous posts pretty much cover it, but remember to run the wires so that they "sag" or droop realistically, like on a real engine. The biggest mistake people make when they wire a distributor, after using wire that's way too thick and out of scale, is that they run the wires between the distributor and the cylinder head in big round loops, which is not the way it looks on a real engine.

You can sell anything on ebay! There's a buyer for anything you can imagine, individual kit parts included. Sell what you want, how you want. Either way, there will be buyers.

I don't think the one in your link is accurate... it's too similar to the current car, and from what I've read the new Viper is a total redesign.

From Autoblog: Chrysler has already confirmed that the next Viper is on its way in two years' time, but showing it off this early is a clear indication that work is well underway. There's still some debate about what powertrain will be fitted to the thoroughly updated Viper, but early reports indicate that the same 8.4-liter V10 could carry on, possibly with the inclusion of Fiat's MultiAir technology to reduce emissions and boost output over 700 horsepower. An entry-level V8 option is a possibility, and there's little doubt that Dodge is tapping Ferrari's engineers to advise on everything from handling to steering and stability control systems.

From Edmunds: At a meeting here of Chrysler's U.S. dealers, CEO Sergio Marchionne, who also heads Italian automaker Fiat, said Chrysler will introduce 17 new or redesigned models over the next two years, including a replacement for the Dodge Viper, which was phased out of production this summer. According to The Wall Street Journal, dealers "gasped and applauded" when Marchionne unveiled a "sleek redesign" of the Viper.

Has anyone seen any renderings, spy shots or anything visual on the newly designed 2012 Viper? I read that it was shown to a bunch of Chrysler muckety-mucks and they whooped and hollered when they saw it.

You never know where a particular topic might wind up... No harm done, though. A lot of interesting posts were made regarding OOB and contest judging in general. Hey, it's a model car discussion board... so we discussed...

I agree with Rob. Painting trim is iffy, and on top of it not very realistic, because silver paint just doesn't look like chrome trim. Get some Bare Metal Foil, read the directions, practice on a scrap body... once you get the hang of it you'll never paint chrome trim again.

How can that be? How can parts that fit fine before now be 1/4 inch off? BTW, I've built that kit and had no problems.

As long as you're giving credit to the source I don't see any problem posting them here. Of course I'm not a lawyer...
