From Edmunds:
At a meeting here of Chrysler's U.S. dealers, CEO Sergio Marchionne, who also heads Italian automaker Fiat, said Chrysler will introduce 17 new or redesigned models over the next two years, including a replacement for the Dodge Viper, which was phased out of production this summer.
The next-generation Viper is due in 2012, dealers were told. Until the dealer meeting this week, Chrysler had dropped numerous hints about a possible Viper successor but hedged on dates and details.
According to The Wall Street Journal, dealers "gasped and applauded" when Marchionne unveiled a "sleek redesign" of the Viper.
