  1. Here's something you don't see every day, if at all. It's my "Dressed Up" SMART Car. I picked up this Revell kit (#1327) from a vendor at the Maryland NNL back in 2000. I found it in a plastic bag at the back of a shelf in my model area and decided that it would make a fun little side project in between some others I have going on. Well, it wound up holding my attention for the last few weeks. It's painted Tamiya Metallic Red with a White roof. The only chrome pieces in the kit were the headlight buckets, the center grille, and the mirror faces. All the rest of the chrome on this little guy was done with either BMF or Molotow pens (Front & rear lower body panels, wipers, mirrors, window frames and wheels). I used embossing powder for the interior carpeting and some flocking for the seat & door panels. All of the interior chrome trim was done with the Molotow pens. I also added an interior mirror, visors and a dome light. This was a fun little project and is as cute as heck... Thanks for looking in on this, and, as always, any and all comments are welcomed.
  2. Thanks again guys. Yeah Tom. I'm very much looking forward to seeing you again at that great little show you're hosting.
  3. Looks like a fun and "different" project...... Different is always cool.
  4. Sorry to hear of Gary's passing. Does this mean the end of Galaxie Ltd. ???
  5. That's a great looking Merc Al.
  6. I thank you all very much for your kind words and wishes. My wife and I went to Ditka's restaurant in Robinson for a combination 50th Anniversary (back on December 28th) and Birthday dinner. Our daughter and her husband gave us a $250 Gift Certificate for Ditka's as an Anniversary Gift. We used every penny of it...!!! I started off with a couple of Dirty Ditka's (Vodka Martini with Bleu Cheese stuffed Olives), Jill had a Raspberry Smash Martini. We each had a giant shrimp cocktail. I had an 8 oz. Filet Mignon with Bernaise sauce and a loaded baked potato. We shared a bowl of mushrooms sauted in wine. I washed that down with a glass of Merlot. Jill had a steak with brussel sprouts. My dessert was creme brule and an Irish coffee. Needed a forklift to get to the car...!!! It was all absolutely yummy.
  7. I've been retired for 10 years now. The Mrs. still works, because she wants to. I keep the house tidied up and try to spend at least a couple of hours each day at my bench. I don't always get a whole lot accomplished, but lately I've been on a roll. I finished 4 models so far this year and have another 3 "in the works". It is amazing how quickly the hours fly by.
  8. Thanks a lot Carl. I'm looking forward to a good day and maybe a good dinner out with the Mrs.
  9. I wholeheartedly agree.

  22. Great work Tom. I've been trying to accomplish sort of the same thing with some of the models that I've recently finished, and am still working on. It feels great to finally finish something that's been hanging around for a while.

  24. Welcome to our plastic playground Vincent.
  25. Absolutely fabulous build Steve. I think I've said previously that my first car was a '67 Ford Galaxie 4 door in almost the same color scheme. I built a model of it about 25 years ago with the help of a departed friend, but it didn't come out anywhere near as beautiful as yours. Great job.
