  1. Overall there are waaaaaayyyyy too many commercials on TV...... Every 7 minutes you get 10 commercials...... on every channel......at the same time......!!!!!! I get it that the various networks make their $$$$$$ on commercials...... but come on guys...... enough already...!!! Remember back when cable TV started, saying there would be no commercials...??? The cable subscribers would pay for it all...... Yeah right...!!! How long did that last??? And the cable companies keep raising their prices. I'm not a fan of satellite TV due to weather interruptions.
  2. Yeah I've had just about enough of this cold stuff... and so has my wallet... paying the gas bill for heat...!!! I'd love to move to a warmer climate area, but the wifey doesn't agree... She likes it cooler due to being hot all the time due to menopause.
  3. That's a sharp looking '40 Jim.
  4. Welcome to our plastic playground Paul.
  5. The best LHS in my area is Hobby Express in the Lowe's Shopping Center on Rte. 228 in Cranberry Twp., just North of Pittsburgh. They've got everything you could want in a Hobby Shop (Model kits, paints, glues, foils, plastruct, evergreen, photo-etched parts, display cases, etc.). They have toys, train stuff, military models, planes, and more... Bring a pocket full of $$$.
  6. Nice stuff there Barry...... Thanks for sharing.
  7. Welcome to our plastic playground Alex.
  8. Very nice work Jim.
  9. Welcome to our plastic playground John.
  10. Elmer's Glue, Tamiya Thin Liquid Cement, 2 Part 5 minute Epoxy, non-fogging CA glue, and clear enamel are all in the "arsenal".
  11. You can get non-fogging CA glue. I get it at my LHS. It is labeled as Gold or Super Gold. It does not fog chrome or clear parts. It is the only CA glue that I use.
  12. Welcome to our plastic playground Dana.
  13. I wholeheartedly agree Steve, although I don't go "detail crazy" on every model.
  14. Welcome to our plastic playground Tony, and also back to the hobby.
  15. Welcome to our plastic playground Rob. I also played Bass for years on and off with various "garage bands", but haven't touched my Fender P Bass in almost 15 years since we moved to PA from Long Island, NY.
  16. Thanks a lot for all of your kind comments guys.
  17. Great looking Caddy Jean-Phillipe. I love Modelhaus' kits. Too bad they're gone now.
  18. I noticed that too Tom. When I sign on to the Forum daily I usually check the birthday listing to see if I personally know anyone whose birthday it is. I've noticed that a HUGE number of those people in the birthday listing haven't visited the Forum in many years...!!! Maybe it's time to "clean out" the inactive ones...???
  19. I did too Tom and the stuff looks great for carpeting...... much more realistic carpet looking than flocking...... and you know how I love to use flocking.
  20. Yes, you would use thinned down (with water) white glue (Elmer's) to apply embossing powder. Embossing powder better replicates the look of carpeting.
  21. Thanks very much for your great comments guys.
  22. Good luck to you and your son Joe.
  23. Thank you for all of your great comments fellas.
  24. Thank you all for your very kind comments. Oliver, I'm sorry, but I don't remember where I got those tires. They are all resin pieces that I've had in my parts stash for a long time. I wish I had a few more of those whitewall slicks. I used my razor saw to cut the grooves in them to make them cheater slicks.
