MCM Relaunch Update 11/6/2020
Ramfins59 replied to larrygre's topic in Model Cars Magazine News and Discussions
I received my copy in yesterday's mail and it is GREAT...!!! Wonderful to have it back again. Congratulations to all who made it possible. I'm looking forward to receiving MANY more issues? -
I put the final coats of clear on the '59 Dodge body for the Street Machine I've been working on seemingly "forever", and I put the finishing touches on detailing the resin interior from Modelhaus for it. I'll let the clearcoat dry for a couple of days and then I can polish it out and then apply the yards of BMF to the body. In the meantime I can finish up the chassis work and wheels...... This is gonna be killer...!!!
-
Yeah Mike...... I can't tell you how many sheets of BMF that I've used so far while working on all my 1950's cars...... and many more to come, especially when I get to working on the 1959 cars...!!!

Alan, I think I got the skirts from Modelhaus several years ago, along with the interior.
-
Hi Mike. If my memory serves me correctly, the Plymouth interior, I got from Modelhaus several years ago. For the Pontiac, I used and modified an AMT '57 Chevy kit's interior, and for the Studebaker, I used an AMT '53 Studebaker's interior.

That looks pretty good Sam. -
Thanks guys. Bob, I've also pretty much completed the cars for 1958, with the exception of Desoto. I just haven't posted pictures of them in groups as yet. I also have 5 cars done for 1950, 7 for 1953, 2 for 1954, 10 for 1955, 12 for 1957, and 8 for 1959. I still have to complete all of those years and then post those groups together. It's quite a daunting project to complete, but it is a lot of fun. Also, finding and/or making room to display them all is a project unto itself.

Group #5 for 1956...... Plymouth (a rebuilt Johan promo), Pontiac (a rebuilt Johan promo), Studebaker (a rebuilt AMT promo).
-
Group #4 for 1956...... Mercury (a Modelhaus resin kit), Nash Metropolitan (a diecast), Oldsmobile (a rebuilt Johan promo).
-
Group #3 for 1956... Desoto (a rebuilt Johan promo), Dodge (a Modelhaus resin kit), Ford (an AMT kit).

As a lot of you probably know, I've been trying to assemble all of the American made cars for each year of the 1950's. I use plastic kits, resin kits, rebuilt and detailed promos, and diecasts for cars that weren't made in kit or promo form. The first year that I've been able to complete so far is 1956. This is the first "group"...... Several pictures of each car... Buick (an AMT promo), Cadillac (a Modelhaus resin kit). I still have to take pictures of the Corvette, Lincoln and Thunderbird to complete this group... Stay tuned...... also for additional completed years. Thanks for looking in on this.

The EXCLUSIVELY '32 Roadster/Cabriolet ONLY thread. Show us what you got!!!

I'll play too. Here's a '32 full fendered roadster that I built about 20 years ago using the Revell kits and some AMT parts. The flamed seats are completely done with flocking. -

I'll play... Here's the '32 Ford 5 Window Coupe that I finished up back in February. This is the First '32 Coupe that I ever built.

Great work John. I'm also working on one of these kits, but I'm making it into a 1952 Chevy using grille & bumper conversion pieces that I got from Modelhaus before they closed up. I also have to modify the side trim on the rear quarters, and the taillights.
