  10. Norm Veber (Replicas & Miniatures Co of MD) makes a set of 8 or so different resin Master Cylinders, which include several dual bowl ones. I think the price is under $10.
  11. Welcome to our plastic playground Walt.
  12. Welcome to our plastic playground E.J. I moved from Bayshore, L.I. to western PA. 13 years ago because it was just too expensive to live there anymore due to the high R.E. taxes and Utility costs.
  13. As has been said above, being retired and receiving Social Security and managing to squirrel away a small amount each month, I'm feeling more fortunate than a lot of my fellow Americans. My wife is also receiving S.S. and is working at a local bank. Being 73 and recovering from recent heart surgery, I'm in that "vulnerable" group healthwise. Other than spending some time on my back deck on warmer sunny days, I haven't left my house since I returned home from the hospital back in March. I haven't done much modelling unfortunately, but look forward to getting back into it. I check in on this Form on a daily basis just to keep up with things. I'm hoping that everyone stays healthy and well as we work our way back to what I'm sure will be a "new normal".
  14. Welcome to our plastic playground Brian.
  15. I haven't left the house since I returned home from the hospital & rehab after my surgery. I'm in what is considered the "high Risk" category due to my age and various medical issues so being "sheltered-in-place" is no big deal for me. I'm waiting for the urge to get back into working on models again. Also looking forward to being able to go to our favorite Mexican restaurant (Emiliano's) again, whenever that will be. Thankful that we're staying alive and somewhat healthy.
  16. Thank you all again for all of your very kind remarks and well wishes. I'm feeling pretty good overall, but just still don't have a lot of energy. I'm getting around OK mostly with a cane, sometimes with nothing. I folded up the walker last week and feel pretty secure getting around without it. I don't really even miss the cigarettes at this point although I do think about them at times. I'm keeping my weight down to 172 lbs. even with picking at some chocolate now and then. I'm sort of proud of myself for my will power over the past years.... I've lost a bit over 70 lbs. over the past 2 years and kept it off (I started at 245 lbs.)...... I haven't used a drop of salt on or in my food since last September (I used to salt everything before I even tasted it). I haven't had a cigarette in almost 2 months so far. Here's hoping that all this "good stuff" continues.
  17. I thank you all so very much for all of your kind words and well wishes. I look forward to eventually getting back to my modeling bench.
  18. Hello everyone... I'm happy to report that I made it through my heart surgery, not without some drama, but I'm now home and recuperating nicely. The triple bypass surgery was back on February 26th. After it was done they moved me from the Recovery Room into ICU. There my right lung collapsed and they had to fix that. Then my heart stopped beating for about a minute and they had to do CPR on me to get me running again... That explains why I had such pain in and around my rib cage as they most likely either cracked or broke a couple of ribs. I spent 2 weeks in the hospital and then they sent me to a Rehab Facility for a week to get me up and moving again. I am home for several weeks now and have finished with an in-home Physical Therapist. and an in-home Occupational Therapist. I still have a visiting Nurse coming in once weekly to check me out. I'm extremely thankful for all of the prayers and well wishes from everyone, and especially for the talents and skills of the surgeons, doctors and medical staffs who worked on me and helped me through this ordeal. Another side note...... I had what I'm hoping was my last cigarette on February 25th, the day before my surgery. Please stay very well everyone.
  19. Hi David. I've used Molotow pens to touch up bumpers and grills, but have so far only fully "chromed" the grill & bumpers on one car...... the '55 Mercury that I just recently finished. I didn't paint them prior to chroming and I could have done a better job of smoothing out the resin pieces before applying the Molotow ink. I used the 2mm pen using long, slow strokes to let the ink "flow" and almost "bubble" as it is applied. I think the 4mm pen would be better for chroming large areas, but I "misplaced" mine and will have to get a new one. Try not to go over the same area twice until after the ink has dried for at least a day. Then I let the pieces dry for almost a week before handling them, but there were eventually some "duller" areas from repeated handling of the parts to get them properly positioned at final assembly time. Overall I'm pretty pleased with the way they came out.
  20. I can totally relate to the "fear of dentists" Johnny. As a young teenager I had a wisdom tooth pulled and all I could remember was excruciating pain.... back before the days of good numbing of your mouth... I swore I'd never go back to a dentist. Well, after about 40+ years, and missing and broken teeth, I eventually "bit the bullet" (pardon the pun) and had the few remaining teeth and pieces of teeth removed and now have full upper and lower dentures. I can now eat whatever I want (corn, nuts, etc...) and I sometimes kick myself for not having done it sooner in life. Yeah, having to use denture adhesive sometimes several times a day (especially for the lower dentures) can be a pain in the butt, but, I'll never have to go back to a dentist again?.
  21. That is a gorgeous model Rodney.
  22. Welcome to our plastic playground Tony.
