  1. That's better...... Thanks a lot Joe. I just placed an order with BNL. Thanks again for your help.
  2. Thanks Joe, but I'm really not looking for Optima-style (round-chamber batteries).
  3. I can't keep "stealing" newer batteries from the few more modern car kits that I have, to use in "upgrading and/or modernizing" some of the 1950's cars that I build. Who in the Aftermarket makes good 12 volt batteries that I can "stockpile"..?? I'm not really looking for the Optima style batteries, just the 6 cap and/or the "rectangular" capped ones. Thanks very much for any help.
  4. We all learn a lot of great modeling stuff here on this Forum.
  5. I don't do Facebook.
  6. First of all, welcome to the hobby, and to this Forum. Get some Purple Power cleaner/degreaser and a tupperware-like container. Pour in the Purple Power, put in the body and/or parts and let it all sit in there for a day or 2. Then take the parts out and scrub them under warm running water using an old toothbrush. Let everything air dry for a day or so and then you'll be good to go to reprime and repaint. You won't get super glue off that way though. To do that you'll have to get some super glue Debonder. You're well-stocked LHS (Local Hobby Shop) should have that, or you might find it at either Lowe's or Home Depot. Apply the debonder to the joints where the superglued parts are joined together using an old paintbrush. It may take more than one application to be able to separate the parts cleanly. Good luck with your project.
  7. That's a great looking Ford Ludwig.

  10. That's looking pretty weather-worn Blair. Nice work in the "engine room".

    56 NOMAD

That's a great looking Nomad James.
  12. That is a great looking car Michel.
  13. Thanks for that info Mike. I'd love to hear from anyone who has worked on or built up any of Banthrico's kits.
  14. Wow, that is a great looking car Al. I'll have to look into eventually getting one of these kits for my "Class of '53".
  15. I see a lot of Banthrico metal kits in 1/24 - 1/25 scale listed on EBAY. To my eye they look like unpainted, sort of diecast metal style models. I'm wondering if anyone collects and/or builds these kits, and if so, how are they??? I see that they all have the window areas filled in, and therefore would have to be Dremeled out to expose any interior, which in most cases would either have to be robbed from plastic kits or scratchbuilt. Since the bumpers & grilles are molded in, it looks like getting them to look chromed would be a real chore. I only ask this because some of the kits are of 1950's cars that are not, or have never been, made in any plastic form...... kits or promos. Thanks for any input on this.
  16. Welcome to our plastic playground Jean-Guy. Depending on the car you are working on, you can try using clear acetate from the top of a box of Greeting Cards, or clear plastic sheet protectors, or even clear plastic from soda or pop bottles.
  17. In addition to detailing the headlight lenses as has been suggested, you might also wany to give the center part of the grille a blackwash with either The Detailer, or thinned down flat black paint.
  18. That's a nice looking Ford John. Great job.
  19. I've tried working on several models together but I found that process never really works efficiently for me. So I will usually work on one car through to completion. At the moment I'm polishing out a '58 Imperial. I was previously working on a '59 DeSoto but I ran into paint problems so it's taking a bath in the paint stripper tub at the moment. Many other cars are lined up behind them in the TO DO pile.
  20. That's looking great Steven.
  21. That is a beautiful car Ludwig.
  22. Great pictures Tim. Thanks for sharing them with us.
  23. I like the color and the wood Blair. The Z Man sure does make some nice wheels doesn't he?
  24. It was a record setting 10 below zero this morning, and right now it is 10 degrees above zero. We're supposed to get about 3 to 6 inches of snow tomorrow.
  25. Ha ha ha... Tom I can only wish that my WHOLE BODY could go off to a warmer climate. This cold junk is too much for these old bones. By the way, you know that those ears in my profile pic are rubber Gnome ears that Jamie got at one of the Ren Fairs right?
