Thanks everyone, and Steve that is a cool little drag car you have there sir!

Well, I got a little more done. I let the paint cure for a pretty decent length of time, so today I sanded it out. Looks pretty good even before polishing it out. I also got some washes on the interior panels.

REALLY like that style. Is this the same kit that was once molded in a burgandy plastic around 1982?

I am sure you will work wonders with it, as it looks like you are already headed in that direction. -

You may not be happy, but I think it looks pretty darn good!

Another great looking model.

Looks great! Did you use Scale Finishes clear as well?

I need your opinion!

Hmm, how about a dark gray or even gloss black then weathered a little -
I remember seeing a bunch of this style car racing on the little 1/4 highbank track back in my hometown in the early 70's when I was a kid. We had the figure 8 as well. Used to be called SunValley and then years later, just went to the boring Anderson Speedway. Always fun watching the close wheel to wheel racing on such a small track.

I always wanted to build a model of this, but there was not a kit, and now...I see there was a resin body....hmmm. This still available?

The search results are determined by multiple factors, one of which inclues the filtering option a user has set on their browser. You can have it set to ignore adult content (and this works for the most part), but keep in mind that just like the above conversation about search tags in Craig's List, the "seller" (in this case the adult site owners) wants their content to be seen, so they may add search tags that you would not think of being related. In addition, the browser a person uses could also influence what you see. You could possibly also have Malware on your computer that would cause these types of results. What brower are you using?

Thanks guys. Yeah, the 32 is not a good kit at all, and I have a 34's that will get built at some point, but heck, why not a challenege!? LOL In all seriousness, I specifically want to build a 32, and this is the one I have. (not really aware of any other 32 Ford pickup kits at all to be honest). I want it to be a companion to the 32 I sedan I built last year.

Man, sorry to hear that.

'Close Contact' Street Scene Diorama (WIP)
Modelbuilder Mark replied to tiking's topic in WIP: Dioramas
I know! This guy's work is so good, and yet the pics present it in such a way, that he makes it look simple. Richard, I feel the same way about your work, and have told you as much in the past. I see what you guys do, and I just sit in amazement. I know that practice makes perfect, but I seem to struggle to get a vision to turn out the way I like without messing up the layer before etc. And where this guy posted his work with the manhole and grate, and just the staining, and then the next layer and next, until you get wast looks so very real..well, it is a pleasure to see this kind of work come together. -
Gonna start off with a really bad Lindburg kit here. I will be going for a look similar to the Alexander Brothers pickup the Grasshopper, but this will NOT be a replica. Their truck is just such a good looking truck that it inspired me to do something similar. The cab on the Lindburg kit channels over the frame, so I will be adding back some plastic at the front so the cab can sit back up higher. Also, the "vinyl" spot on the roof will be going bye bye as well. I will be using the frame and suspension from an Ala Kart kit. I started to fill in the frame in spots as well. I cut the cross members and made new ones so I could widen it to fit the 32 fenders from the Lindburg kit. I am not yet sure on the motor.

'Close Contact' Street Scene Diorama (WIP)
Modelbuilder Mark replied to tiking's topic in WIP: Dioramas
I have to tell you that I am both in awe, and a bit envious of how some modelers such as yourself have the ability to "see" something and make it happen, like how realistis the weathering is, the manhole, etc, and yet it seems to come together so very easily for you. Very nice indeed, very nice. -
DESERT SCALE CLASSIC 10 ~ April 12, 2014
Modelbuilder Mark replied to Danno's topic in Contests and Shows
Oh no! I think it might be fun at some point to find a few shows that kind of line up with travel, and make a road trip of several shows over a couple or three weeks. That will likely have to wait for retirement. -
Thanks guys. And thanks for the stories as well.,

Some great looking trucks on here folks! Here are a couple of mine. Not sure you would call the van Patina, but certainly worn for wear.
