New project. Nasty LX notch oct 12 almost there!
freakshow12 replied to freakshow12's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Thanks guys. It's solder wire, just under 3mm. Joints are aluminum tubing. It's nice because it bends easily and drills easily to pin it together then some 5 min epoxy on the joins and it will all come out in one piece so I can paint -

Tailpipes . Little fine tuning and I'm set. They have a nice 03/4 cobra look from the back. Soon ready to blow it apart and get paint flying on this -
GM is at it again!
freakshow12 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree it's very serious. I have been chasing a starting issue on my buddies alero. Told him it was the key but I confirmed it saturday when it all shorted out while I was wiggling the key around aggressively when it wouldn't start. Told him to take it to dealer and he could have it replaced free but he is kind of lazy that way lol -

That is how Toyota does it. Better product for it in the long term. I'm not a GM fan by any stretch but I do believe they can grow from this. If they can't, well that solidifies why I won't buy anything else from them. -
Great looking model! I am a big fan of tan interiors too

You will also eventually hit a limit you can post here. I did, so I got photobucket mobile set up as I had a bucket anyway. Now I just go to bucket, hit upload. Grabs pic off phone then I image link to here. Much easier in the long run

Just a hair under 3mm And yes the mufflers are from the saleen. Looks big but 3 inch exhaust IS big. Lol. Tailpipes are giving me fits. Have to do them in 2 pieces each to get the look I'm after -
All you do on your phone is this: Click on pic, hit edit, hit rotate 3 times, hit save. Hit edit , rotate once so it's the right way and save again. They will load the right way then

Honestly from all the ones I have or have had, for a first car the sn95 cars are wayyy better than a fox. More comfortable, handle and brake better and you can get them cheaper than a fox in similar shape. Just stay away from 96-8 gt's they are slooooooowwwww lol. My son just got his learners and he is saving money. Should have 5-6 k by next summer and he wants an 85/6 Capri RS. We already have 3 but will likely get him a nice driver

freakshow12 replied to exesivefire's topic in WIP: Model Cars
That is shaping up beautifully. I think you need to change the name though. With some nice paint this will be a high quality track day car -
Hard to beat a canary yellow gt. I had one new in 95. I added the 94/5 cobra nose and spoiler, lowered it, tinted it and had over the top stripes painted on in a custom pearl canary yellow. You could not see them in certain light and they were just a subtle ghost stripe set in the sun. I mainly took it to shows. Got lots of compliments. Not many spending that kind of money modding a brand new car in those days. Traded it for my cobra in 97 which I still have. Now my daughter is rocking a nice 94gt in lazer red. Her first car. Just turned 16 in june

Spent some time making exhaust before my riders beat Hamilton today It's full 3 inch. Tailpipes will be similar to the ones used on an IRS cobra that run under the rear axle. Headers were a tough fit so I went with stock manifolds which is no problem on these as they can make well into the high 800s hp wise on stock manifolds. Still have to add a driveshaft loop then I can blow it all apart for paint. I like to work out all my gremlins early. Thanks for looking -
Very nice guys

Wow. Welcome back to the hobby. That icy blue looks great. I have some but have not used it. I may have to change that thanks to this build

Yes it comes with the scooped hood but it's not correct for a stock hemi cuda

Turned out nice. The gen 1 zr1 was a beast in it's day

GM is at it again!

I agree with that. I think one big word plays in with that too. Outsourcing. Many things quality wise have suffered since everything has to get to plants off of boats... -

There is a different way to look at this. So they are issuing a ton of recalls, but remember Toyota ? They had a few years the issued a recall if a sun visit didn't click in properly! In the long run I think it speaks volumes about an improvement in quality! I'm no die hard GM man by any stretch but I have one. My hummer H2 has been good but a few small things that the dealer brushed off irritated me. Same with my f150s. Things that once you do some research could have been valid recalls but if they only issue a tsb then it's more cost effective for them. It looks bad in print but I thing the intentions are good to build a better, safer product.
