Advice needed for speedster build.........
espo replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
A good choice for a chassis might be any of the current Revell Model A's or '32 Ford kits. Some were offered with a Buick engine as an option, but I can't recall right off which ones. The chassis under these kits would give you a complete suspension and a few wheel and tire options. -
1966 or 1967 Plymouth Sedan model ???

Sorry, I didn't notice the small character lines on the C pillar and thought this might work. -

Wonder what stories that panel could tell? -

Moebius offers both a stock Belvedere I and a drag version as well. They are outstanding kits and well detailed and great parts fitment. -
The La Salle style grill was an option on some early '36 Ford kits. That may make your grill a little easier to do if you can find one.

Will your insurance cover the cost of replacing the lens in your eye for your Cataract surgery? There are extra cost options when doing Cataract surgery and whoever is doing that should be able to better explain those options. I had mine done so that I only need glasses for reading now.

Serious looking off roader. Nice roll bar setup and brush guard. Realistic looking patina finish. -
Beautiful looking paint treatment and body work. Like the interior as well as the engine detailing.
-
Great looking paint finish and color. Like seeing WRC cars done as street cars. Like the wide wheels.
-
Like the "Road America" style roll bars and the top would be a great idea since the original wouldn't clear the bars anyway. The paint color and contrasting interior go well together.
-
Great looking Thunderbirds. The Coral color and the finish look good on this body style.
-
Great looking '37. Like the black paint.
-
Like the paint color and finish. The seat surface decals add to the interior. The wheel and tire combination look good on this.
-
Great looking paint and trim finishes. Like how you built this with all of Jame's toys on display. Wish I had some of those features on my car with the drivers around here.

Do you also have 1:1 project cars?

For the sake of your windshield, you might want to think about some new wiper blades. They are very inexpensive compared to a scratched windshield. -

I have an unhealthy attraction to sedan deliveries myself. -
Great looking paint and body. Noticed the "Sprint" and body side stripe. Is this something the painter added or is it the OHC 6?

Great looking paint color and finish. Clean minimal body trim. Like how you did the seating surfaces, very original looking.- 9 replies

I keep a small makeup jar my wife gave me from Clinique. Can't think of a better way to attach small lenses and trim.

Maybe a big drop axle front end would work.

Someone in my area has a 1:1 in the shade of blue you mentioned that you're thinking of paint your build. Let me say when I see it is always going the other way on a six-lane divided highway around here and it is very eye catching even going 75 mph in the other direction.

Thats what I was thinking as well. The problem is that the longer they sit out like this the harder it will be to get a good body finish. I realize that many would just cover the body with a semi-flat clear and call it good, but some others would rather have them shinny and looking good. -
I would suggest a full body mockup on the frame before gluing anything together.
