Great looking finishes. Like seeing a build of the basic transportation models done with the same attention to detail usually found on a top-of-the-line body style.
Like how you retained a portion of the original kits roof and drip rails. Makes a lot of sense to keep the impala window shapes and surprising how the rear window opening lines from the Chevelle wagon roof lines up with the trunk opening lines on the Impala body.
Beautiful paint finish and color combination. Seeing the construction pictures help appreciate the body changes. The rear fenders changed the overall look. The interior detailing and the golf bag look great.
Looked out the kitchen window at breakfast and noticed two Deer walking through the back yard heading out over the golf course. Seem to be seeing a lot of roadkill lately in the area. Mostly Possums, but they may only be playing possum.
Got some nice Z style stripes from STS Decals this weekend. They offer a few different colors as well. @stsdecals.com. I'm only a satisfied customer and have no other affiliations with them.
He presents at local model show and swap meets was missed this last weekend at the Heartland show. I have bought several of Steves castings in the past and have enjoyed them all. He had also bought several of my duplicate kits for resale as well. Always enjoyed talking to him about building and life in general. He will be missed for sure.
I agree with you about the validity of most of this era AMT kits. This is a build style I tend to fallow as well since it is what appeals to me the most personally and have done similar modifications to a few of my own 1:1 vehicles in the past.
