You wouldn't think so if they are that new.

Beautiful looking paint color and finish. I remember your take on the grill, and it does give it more depth looking at it. The interior trim is very cleanly done.

Have to agree with everyone else on the paint color and finish. Chevrolet had a color called Danube Blue at that time and would be very close to this. Great looking chrome body trim. Wheels and tires along with a vehicle stance like this go a long way with the overall look.

Great looking paint finish and the contrasting interior.

Great looking metallic paint. Like the wheels and tires.

The paint color and finish do look great as does your Fairlane in the last picture. The vinyl roof and body trim are all cleanly done. The decal issue, is the kit a recent reissue or maybe older inventory that would account for the decals degrading with age?

You're right about the different take on the grill.

Beautiful looking paint finish and color. Sort of a Candy Green maybe?

Great looking patina finish and the camper shell looks like one where the fiberglass is starting to deteriorate. Like the flares and the wheel and tire setup. -
Beautiful looking paint finishes and you can see what you mean about the engine detailing even OOB. Great looking body trim details as well.

You mention this being your "new house". Was there any type of structure inspection done before closing? Normally finding something of this nature is when you would have your Realtor tell the sellers Realtor there is a problem that needs correcting before closing.

Great looking 442. The color scheme looks very 1969. Like the "shaved" look on the hood and trunk lid.

'62 F-100 started in 1962
espo posted a topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
As the title says, this is something I started in '62 and then life got in the way. Found in a box in the stash and thought maybe I should finish this. I had started to make this into a short bed F-100 and chopped the top before putting it all back in the box. Stayed with the short box idea and shortened the chassis to match. Not sure, or care if the bed dimensions are correct, this is eyeball engineering. The body putty used originally was from AMT as they offered small tubes of the stuff and it work well at the time. The biggest problem I had with the bed was "butt welding" the bed back together even with strips glued to the inside. The kits bed cover was trimmed to fit the shortened bed. The bed floor couldn't be found and that was just as well since I tubbed the rear wheel wells for the larger slicks and lowered the front and rear using the lowest setting that chassis plate provided along with a mild channeling of the chassis plate. Tamiya spray paints were used on the body and interior. The seat pattern is from Scale Motorsports. The engine came in the kit and only painted with no other detailing done. I was able to cut the rear window to fit but managed to destroy the windshield and made a new one out of some clear plastic. The wheels and tire were bought at a swap meet long ago and aren't anything special but convey the look I was after. The body side decals help sort of hide the point where the bed was put back together. This will never be seen at a show, but felt I had to finish it or strip it for parts.- 14 replies

Had an issue with the Kansas DMV years ago when we moved here. Going thru the usual inspection process of our vehicles, the officer who was inspecting the car had handwriting so bad that when I got inside to the person issuing the new titles wanted our white car to be listed as green. Even though she could see the car through her window she made me go back out to the officer and get back into line to have the car reinspected. This cost me another hour because the Kansas Highway Patrolman's handwriting was that bad. Maybe he should have been given a different assignment than working at the DMV and the clerk inside should have used a little more common sense, but that seems to be asking a little too much.

Great looking paint color and finish. Like the engine detailing. -
The finishes look dead on no matter where you look on this build. Like the early traditional timeless look.

Beautiful paint finish and the color looks like something that may have been original when new. The interior looks great and very realistic looking finishes. -
Beautifully detailed engine and chassis. The body colors and finishes look great. Like the interior with your added aftermarket parts.

Great improvement over the kit supplied engine.

Great job on the roof. The rear fender issue, maybe splice in a section of material to widen the original fenders? Just wanted to mention, you're one of the few men that I have noticed have furrier fingers than my own.
