'78 Ford Bronco rode hard.....
espo replied to pack rat's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I like the weathering, just enough and not over the top. The windshield treatment looks great. -
I like the fine detailing of the engine and body trim. The paint color and finish show the body lines well.
-
Beautiful paint finish and color. The engine detailing looks amazing as does the interior. Enjoyed following your build on this.

Mooneyes Volkswagen Bus

Great looking build. I think your two-tone colors look better than their box art. The box art looks almost as if they have a two-tone yellow paint job. -
Datsun offroad 4x4 pickup

Great looking little truck. I like the lightly dusted look on the finish. The more you look at the pictures the more little details start to appear. -
Beautiful looking finishes and color combination.

Beautiful looking finish. I learned a lot watching how you did your paint graphics.
-
Another beautifully done Hubbly. I like the paint colors used.
-
Looks a lot better than what Chevrolet offered as a Corvair wagon.

The paint job, color and finish, are both beautifully done. Nice interior colors and trim. Too bad it's hard to see with a chopped top. Got the stance right.

Beautiful looking and such realistic trim and body proportions. Enjoyed watching your build on this and your attention to the smallest of trim details. -
Pretty amazing looking recreation. The "paint" finish looks just like the 1:1 as does the body modifications.
-
Great job on the body work and the paint looks nice and smooth.
-
Nice looking paint finish. I also remember many of this year model Chevrolets in our family, but they were all basic 4 doors without even a radio,

Great looking paint finish and color.
-
Very nicely done and the color combination looks good.
-
Great looking example of the different build styles. The Police version looks cleanly done and very much like an original. The blue street rod looks very contemporary and also cleanly built.
-
Beautiful looking paint work. The chrome trim is all cleanly done. The engine looks very realistic and hard to tell from a 1:1 in the pictures. I like how you covered this build on the forum.

Instruction sheet BLOOPERS
espo replied to Vintage AMT's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm working on the AMT "Lawman" '64 Plymouth right now. First off this is overall a really nice kit and I don't want to sound like I'm bashing it. The instructions for the engine assembly has a drawing of a Hemi engine in step #7 and the kit has the 426-wedge engine as shown in step #1 and #2. The interior floor boards have openings that would maybe mount a roll bar, but none in the kit. These are really minor but may be a little confusing for a builder if they aren't familiar with the subject. Extras in the kit include two hood scoop options, you will have to drill your own holes in the hood. A single four barrel and stock air cleaner set up. The suspension has optional front spindles to adjust the ride height and lowering blocks for the rear leaf springs as well as two different length rear shocks. The wheel options are either what looks like a set of American 5 spokes with narrow fronts and wide rears or factory looking steel wheels with the same widths varied widths. The tires are Good Year slicks and narrow front tires. There is a lot to like about this kit, but some ideocracy's on the instruction sheet. -
Why are decals lifting off after application?
espo replied to bh1701's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You might want to contact the maker of the film you're using. There could be a possibility that the setting products you are using are not compatible with their film. They should be able to tell you if this is an issue or not. A suggestion on applying decals in general. A drop or two of water on the body before applying the decal can make it easier to position the decal. Use the edge of a paper towel to draw away the water and then a very small amount of setting solution if the decal isn't laying down to conform to the body. Another thing to think about before any clear coat painting, use a very slightly damp paper towel to lightly remove any residue from the setting solution. Any setting solution from the decal that may have dried on the body can affect the appearance of the painted area around the decal. -
I have only seen a few TV specials covering both the Imposter and a few of Fooses other cars. The Impala was very interesting to me because of the basic concept, but also having owned a '66 Impala SS I had always wan ted to try and build something along the same lines but using a '66-year model instead. Your body work so far looks correct as does the interior. I'll enjoy following your build here.

I'm very impressed with the work you have done on this. Like you, I dreamed of building the same type of conversion and even thought that Revell would offer the body already done. I look forward to watching your build.
