  1. A few years ago I ordered some suspension components for a truck I was modifying. Usual Fed X delivery. I got home from work and this torn up empty box is sitting on my door step. Called Fed X and they claim someone must have stolen the Sway Bars I ordered off of my front step. Called the shipper and they sent me out a replacement, no problem. Later I get a call from a Fed X guy claiming to be some kind of internal investigator on the case. He thinks it would be impossible for one of their drivers to want the Sway Bars. So I ask him to go out in the employee parking lot and look for a then late model GM pick up and look under them for some fresh Sway Bars. He calls back a couple of days later, it's as if he never thought of that. Ding Ding Ding. It seems one of the employees all of a sudden had a nice new set of shinny Sway Bars under his truck. Da.
  2. This could be very interesting. I'd like to see what all you have in mind for your display.
  3. I haven't been in a Michaels since I can't remember when. I have never thought that they were serious about our hobby for ever and their pricing seems as though they're quite proud of the out dated kits that they have to offer. They over price what they have and even with the discount coupons they are still higher than the local hobby shop. So you can guess were most of my money is spent.
  4. A couple of things stand out to me. The open hood I think removes the possibility of this being a Promo. I know of no Promos that had that feature. The year model cast in the Bumpers was a common feature in kits and Promos at that time. Mark mentioned the possibility of a Wagon kit converted to a Sedan and I think that would be the most likely. ChrisBcritter mentioned the SS emblem on the Trunk Lid and this opens another possibility. I didn't even notice the SS emblem at first but what got my attention was the '65 Malibu 396 SS Deck lid. First the Tail Lights are noticeable as being '65s and not '64s. The Trunk Lid Chrome trim is distinctly that of the unique '65 Malibu SS 396. Who ever created this body did an excellent job but the source of some of the body features would lead you to see where the body parts came from.
  5. Great looking Hot Rod. The hinged engine cover, was that in the kit or did you create that ? Nice to see the 4 Banger detail so nicely.
  6. They all look great. You should build a Dealership Diorama set in 1957 to display them together.
  7. Great looking Convertible. Outstanding detailing and the under hood finishes are very convincing. Can't remember when I last saw a model with the base 327, especially with the RS Grill and trim. This is the type of build you just want to study for a while to see all of the little touches here and there.
  8. Lets start a rumor. Maybe another Asian Manufacture like Nissan or Subaru. Or we could look toward Europe for BMW or Audi how about Jaguar ?? I would like to see Dodge return but I think Fiat doesn't feel that it would make financial since. Still inquiring minds need to know.
  9. Thank you for sharing. Amazing creativity and many subjects that I wouldn't normally get to see. The Commercial Rigs especially are so impressive. The effort to detail all of these models is just outstanding. I enjoy seeing the cars that we don't often get to see and the Dioramas are all special.
  10. Great looking build. I like how you used a body color that is not often seen. This would be a great 1:1 daily driver.
  11. Very nice looking kit. The firewall is a little plane looking but you were having to work with what the kit offers. The Brush Guard and Roll Bar look good also.
  12. Very nice clean looking build. Outstanding paint work.
  13. Very nice looking build. Great job on the paint finish, very smooth.

    DeLorean

Amazing detail work. This is one of the reasons I haven't built one.
  15. Nice paint and interior. I like how you detailed the engine. I would double check the Drive Shaft, might need to flip it end for end.
  16. Beautiful build. Are you still driving the 1:1 ?? Always fun when you can build a copy of the car you're diving or have had in the past.
  17. Just need a few Presidential Flags on the front. Great extension work on this body. I like the Flower Car idea also.
  18. Nice clean looking build. I'd look around for the tires you need and retro fit them .
  19. Great looking build. The color choice looks perfect for the era. I like the smooth bumpers without the guards.
  20. I like the color combination and the engine detailing. The paint surface look good in the pictures.
  21. Very well done period build. Nice paint and interior. I remember the 413 or 426 Wedge cars well. You had better have your A game going or all you were going to see was their tail lights.
  22. Very nice paint job. Everything looks sharp a clean. Unusual style for a Caddy, but why not it looks good.
  23. While there are several steel wheels from various kits the one thing that they all seem to be lacking is accuracy with the center section. They may have fairly accurate looking lug nut area but not the mounting for the small hub caps. All to often the offset of the center in relation to the outer rim as wrong. You wind up with a hub cap that stands to far out to look realistic weather your using a small center cap or a full hub cap. As much as I like the Pegasus chrome wheels, and I'm even finishing a build now with them, the ones with the spider center cap are the only ones that look right to me. The wheels from the Dodge "Joker" car had some great looking wheels but only if you're looking for a reversed of extra wide wheel. The Revell '57 Ford kits have a fairly realistic looking wheel but again the offset is not what it should be, and you're limited as to what tires you can use unless you modify the outer edge.
  24. I'd like to know how an Ice Maker catches fire. If the manufacture doesn't want to fix it you could always go back to the Ice Cube Trays that we used before Ice Makers.
  25. Very nicely done. One of my favorite colors. An idea for the Windshield you said was missing. Just make a paper template of the Windshield. Use either the plastic stiffeners from a new dress shirt, my usual method, or the some clear plastic from a Hobby Shop. Cut to size and use a clear adhesive.
