  1. Outstanding interior detailing. I'm going to steal your shift boot idea. That looks better than what comes in most kits.
  2. Your engine compartment looks realistic, a slightly unkept look.
  3. Very nice smooth chopped top. There is no sign of the body work that I can see on the outside.
  4. The reason I asked about the squealing tires in the dirt is somewhat tongue in cheek, I'm not without experience in this type of activity. I know the sound is not necessarily from what the car was doing at the time. The point I was trying to make was that in the lose dirt, what I'm somewhat familiar with, the sound you would most often hear would be the dirt hitting the inner wheel wells. I have been around enough Sprint Car races to both see and hear the tires spinning of hard packed surfaces . For me seeing these gross misrepresentations being presented as being normal as opposed to being isolated incidences is what I find irritating . I have also had occasions during my misspent youth resulting in confrontations with authorities in regard too my driving style. I paid my fines and suspensions and all has been forgiven. I also noticed a lot of engine smoke on the Corvette that got worse as the movie went on. If this car had been pieced together as Mark mentioned the 6 cylinder engine in the Corvette that would explain both the sound and the smoke.
  5. Looking at these old movies it's no wonder Hot Rodding in general had such a bad reputation. The movie companies presented unrealistic situations with really bad acting. By the way does that Corvette sound a lot like an old Jaguar and how do you get tire squeal on dirt surfaces ?
  6. Nice to see an original Model T, as you mentioned they are usually heavily modified.
  7. Very realistic looking. I agree with everyone else on the weathering, it looks perfect. I like how you even hinged the side windows. The 1:1 car has a very interesting history as I'm sure you are aware.
  8. Are you trying to find the tires that were used in Formula 1 racing or the street tires that had a brand name of Formula ? Copies of the racing tire may be found in some older F1 type kits, but as for the street tire I just don't remember ever seeing any in a kit, but maybe some one in the after market may have something close.
  9. I have to agree on this type of car. In addition to having all the go power it can stop and turn with the best. A some what similar car was offered in the late '50's and early '60's called the BoCar. I remember reading about it in Popular Mechanics Magazine. It was also Chevrolet powered but was intended more for racing.
  10. '56 and '57 Lincoln Junior High Santa Monica Ca. Yes it was a very different world then.
  11. A family Suburban for a young growing family that needs more that a regular Station Wagon. Added features: Custom exterior trim and a Tailgate, Chrome Wheels, Lowered suspension, Dual Exhaust for the make believe high output 327 engine. Notice the aluminum high-rise intake and air cleaner. Plug wires are there if you can find them.
  12. This combo is truly impressive. The overall paint finishes are super smooth and flow perfectly. As nice as the COE looks the Boat becomes the center of attention.
  13. Very sharp super clean looking build. I didn't realize that this kit was this well detailed. I would now consider building one based on how great your build looks.
  14. Interesting terms used to describe the cars and their parts not to mention the drivers. Not since Jr. High have I seen so much Brelcreamed hair, White sox and upturned shirt collars.
  15. Build the one you want, but I think the A has so many different possibilities.
  16. Ya, that would be perfect. You could stag the engines in various stages of completion. Maybe even a couple of cars without their engines as if they are waiting for a new heart transplant.
  17. A few years ago I ordered some suspension components for a truck I was modifying. Usual Fed X delivery. I got home from work and this torn up empty box is sitting on my door step. Called Fed X and they claim someone must have stolen the Sway Bars I ordered off of my front step. Called the shipper and they sent me out a replacement, no problem. Later I get a call from a Fed X guy claiming to be some kind of internal investigator on the case. He thinks it would be impossible for one of their drivers to want the Sway Bars. So I ask him to go out in the employee parking lot and look for a then late model GM pick up and look under them for some fresh Sway Bars. He calls back a couple of days later, it's as if he never thought of that. Ding Ding Ding. It seems one of the employees all of a sudden had a nice new set of shinny Sway Bars under his truck. Da.
  18. This could be very interesting. I'd like to see what all you have in mind for your display.
  19. I haven't been in a Michaels since I can't remember when. I have never thought that they were serious about our hobby for ever and their pricing seems as though they're quite proud of the out dated kits that they have to offer. They over price what they have and even with the discount coupons they are still higher than the local hobby shop. So you can guess were most of my money is spent.
  20. A couple of things stand out to me. The open hood I think removes the possibility of this being a Promo. I know of no Promos that had that feature. The year model cast in the Bumpers was a common feature in kits and Promos at that time. Mark mentioned the possibility of a Wagon kit converted to a Sedan and I think that would be the most likely. ChrisBcritter mentioned the SS emblem on the Trunk Lid and this opens another possibility. I didn't even notice the SS emblem at first but what got my attention was the '65 Malibu 396 SS Deck lid. First the Tail Lights are noticeable as being '65s and not '64s. The Trunk Lid Chrome trim is distinctly that of the unique '65 Malibu SS 396. Who ever created this body did an excellent job but the source of some of the body features would lead you to see where the body parts came from.
  21. Great looking Hot Rod. The hinged engine cover, was that in the kit or did you create that ? Nice to see the 4 Banger detail so nicely.
  22. They all look great. You should build a Dealership Diorama set in 1957 to display them together.
  23. Great looking Convertible. Outstanding detailing and the under hood finishes are very convincing. Can't remember when I last saw a model with the base 327, especially with the RS Grill and trim. This is the type of build you just want to study for a while to see all of the little touches here and there.
  24. Lets start a rumor. Maybe another Asian Manufacture like Nissan or Subaru. Or we could look toward Europe for BMW or Audi how about Jaguar ?? I would like to see Dodge return but I think Fiat doesn't feel that it would make financial since. Still inquiring minds need to know.
  25. Thank you for sharing. Amazing creativity and many subjects that I wouldn't normally get to see. The Commercial Rigs especially are so impressive. The effort to detail all of these models is just outstanding. I enjoy seeing the cars that we don't often get to see and the Dioramas are all special.
