Nice paint detailing of the Chassis. I also like the body color with a hint of metallic to it.
-
Beautiful Day 2 build. I like the color contrast between the interior and the outstanding exterior paint. "Show Car" pretty engine compartment.

Great looking work on the Grill and Hood. Your door lines look perfect. Very impressive conversion on this body.

'58 Bonneville Hardtop Back on the Bench! 3/20/18
espo replied to John Goschke's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I'm going to enjoy watching this restoration. After following your '58 Ford you know how this will turn out. The '58 Pontiac is a car I always thought of a beautiful Cruiser. -
Wait ! What ! You never mentioned the frame and gears thing. That is truly different.

What did you see on the road today?
espo replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It maybe because I want to see it, but the fender emblems appear to me to have a small 409 above the crossed fags. -
Because of my advanced years ...

They were done to stiffen the floor boards. Like any large flat metal surface without the ribs the metal will flex and even make a booming sound under certain conditions. The ribs actually add strength to the floor boards. -

Looks like you're off to a good start. A thought on your photos. I would try to avoid placing your model or any part of it on or near carpeting. The plastic seems to easily build static electricity and it will attract minuscule fibers from the carpet. You usually don't realize how much until you try and paint your project. A lesson learned the hard way. -
Very clean looking build. Sadly GM only offered that color for one year. I always thought it looked great. I think it looks best with the White interior as you built it.
-
Great looking build. So nice to see a model so accurately representing a car as built by the manufacture. Tulio has guided you well and look forward to seeing any of your future builds.

You sure captured the look of '62 with your build. Do you have any additional pictures of the interior and engine ?

Looks like a fun build. After watching your Rat Rod Bus I look forward to seeing what all you do with this combination. -
All 15 Varieties of 1932 Ford - Sedan Delivery - June 30
espo replied to Phildaupho's topic in WIP: Model Cars
It will be interesting to follow these builds. There are many here with first hand knowledge of the '32's both 1:1 and 1/25th. -
I applaud your "Dare to be Different" ideas on this Merc.

Nice save on the Camaro. The '58 Impala is a good kit, just take your time with the doors as they are kind of fiddly to get lined up.

Not to sure about the Level 5 rating. I understand that Revell has changed their method. The earlier issue that I have is #85-7679 that was listed as a Thunderbolt Street Machine and is listed as a Level 2. From my personal experience, and what I have seen from other builders on the forum, it is a very good kit with several building options and not a difficult one to build. As for the 7 hours. I usually have that much time in test fitting various assemblies and body prep. I have know idea what you have in mind for your build but I think you will enjoy this kit. Maybe you will share your build on the forum.

I reran Ace's provided YouTube video a couple of times. I also noticed what appears to be someone standing on the top of the bridge when it failed. The image is on the left hand side and may take more than one viewing to notice even in slow motion.

I see they are having difficulties with the video feed ?? Please keep an eye on this. Your information seems far more accurate than anything I can find in the "Main Stream Media".

How do I get better fishmouth joints
espo replied to TarheelRick's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'll have to remember your idea on cutting the Fish Mouth for may next build. -
The trim is very faint on the body and is easily missed. I think the 1:1 Suburban would have been a thin rubber gasket around the windows. Since I wanted this to look like a more upscale trim I went ahead and used foil around the side windows since I thought it looked nicer. Thank you for your interest.

Sharp looking Truck. I like the center strip and the stance. -
There are some older models that have been reissued that would represent the "Boats" you might be looking for. The down sizing of the American Automobile was brought on over time by the increase in the cost of fuel and the Federal Government regulations for Emissions and Fuel Economy rulings. After a time the cars on the road all started looking like a wet bar of soap. The models of these "Land Barges" are still around and several are still very good builds even if they are somewhat less than what we have come to expect from the Model Companies. Round 2 has reissued the MPC '70 Pontiac Bonneville in the last year or so. Can be built as a stock two door hardtop or convertible. Also has the option to convert it to a Ute type pick-up. There is an AMT '76 Chevrolet Caprice and a '70 Impala also. Several versions of the full size Chevrolet from '62 thru '67. There are still many '60's and early '70's Ford and Chrysler models being offered. I don't know if this will help with any build ideas but I would like to see any you should build.

Very nice clean looking build. The way you used detail paint treatments makes it standout even without any extra wiring or hoses.
-
My condolence for your personal loss. Your model turned out great. The Rust effect looks as if someone didn't spray any primer after they did the body work.
-
I also think you got the Winfield paint treatment correct. Very clean fit and finish thru out. Fifteen years, I guess it's just like ridding a Bicycle, you just jump right back on and ride. Look forward to seeing more of your builds.
