  1. Turned out great. AMT was trying to get as many features as they could at that time in their models. Those doors will give you fits. Foiling a '58 Impala is a big challenge but I think you did a great job here. Look forward to your next build.
  2. I tried your suggestion of squinting, found that it worked best if I just closed my eyes altogether.
  3. Just think of all the YouTube videos that will be up next week.
  4. That's one way to get ride of a perfectly good Camper Shell.
  5. Unusual to see an Impala Hardtop as a Service Car and it looks as if it has the extra cost Lighting Group also. Note the white lens on the leading edge of the front fenders. This was an extra cost option, but may have been part of some Police Car Option were they could mount additional flashing lights. Thank you for sharing the photo.
  6. Your paint job looks great. Which trunk lid are you going to use?
  7. It never ceases to amaze me how some designers will put so much time and effort into designing a car and you end up with these.
  8. Very cleanly built. Great paint detailing on the chassis and interior. The color combination looks great.
  9. Service Vehicle builders should rejoice.
  10. The pictures of the body and trim on the test shot look perfect. Any idea about Who or When this will be offered ?
  11. I would jump on one of the Hyper Pak engines if I could get a nice Valiant (Plymouth) or Lancer (Dodge) two door kits.
  12. Depending on what car you are trying to convert to a coupe, they roof line is usually different between a hardtop and a coupe. I have seen a few Resin Casters that have done the conversion by adding a B pillar. The only problem is it looks like they just added a B pillar and didn't change the roof line. A good example is the current Revell '57 Ford coupe and the AMT '57 Ford Hardtop. I used the roof from the AMT to convert a Revell kit into a low line hardtop. The coupe roof from the Revell kit could be used on just about any Ford model from '55 thru '59. The same could be done with the roof from the Revell '56 or '57 Chevrolet model. But the only thing you might do there is make a nicer Revell '55 coupe from their Hardtop kit.

    '63 Vette

Kind of a Klunky kit by todays standards but when detailed like this it looks quite nice. Clean well built model.
  14. I like how you went with the more realistic Injected Hemi instead of the twin Blowers from the kit. Did the Studebaker logo come from the Avanti kit ? This is what happened to a lot of Starlite coupes back in the day since they were so aerodynamic even before you chopped the top. Great looking build and represents what so many of the Salt Flat cars looked like .
  15. Great save on the body. I also remember when guys were cutting up the 1:1 Buses but few seemed this short.
  16. You have a good mix of body parts. I think the Roof from the Buick is what gives this model a unique look. Very nice and a perfect choice of wheels for this Cruiser.
  17. Outstanding Paint and Body work. I like the Sedan Delivery concept, but the Fade Paint job is what really catches my eye.
  18. Do you realize just how lucky you are to have even found this kit ? I have looked for years and if you find one they want a Kings Ransom for it. Your build looks like it just drove out of the sales brochure. Very well detailed and with a Convertible you can really study the interior. Very impressive looking build.
  19. Another great '60's GM car. Is that your car as your Avatar ? I had an SS also, great cars.
  20. The color is blindingly bright. You mentioned that you haven't built a model in years, it's kind of like riding a bike, it comes back quickly in your case. The foiling looks great and the engine looks well detailed also.
  21. I like the "stock" look . The wheels look just like OEM with the Argent paint color and one year only center caps.
  22. That Impala would look a lot better with some American's and Cheater Slicks on the back. I hope he has something under the hood to back up that Scoop.
  23. I have enjoyed following your build and the driveline engineering you have put into it. You mentioned the "Clear over Weathered" style of finish that seems popular. My preference would be a combination of Semi Gloss and Flat clear top coat. This would seem more realistic to me, but that's just my opinion, do as what every looks best to you.
  24. The details on the engine and chassis is outstanding. The interior almost looks to nice in relationship to the exterior, but I wouldn't change it. I have to go rent that movie again and see if it's still as funny as when I saw it last.
  25. Show me a picture of the skid plates and I'll tell you if he's been off road.
