  2. He might want his attorney to talk to her attorney. Unless these were given to her as part of the property settlement she might be in trouble. I've been down this road myself. A lot of my possessions went missing many years ago. Had no way to prove anything so I was just out of luck. This guy has some very good proof here. Sad life has to go this way sometimes. I hope no children are involved in this.
  3. Years ago I worked for Union Oil in southern Cal. at the Colton Distribution Center in Colton Cal. One of my jobs was to work at the fueling station at Riverside Raceway. As I remember they never raced any series in the rain.

  6. Enjoyed your lead in to the purchase of the model from a real model shop. As many Mopar fans will tell you, the GTX was a luxo muscle car of the day. The first thing I noticed on your photo of the GTX with the hood stripes is that they are incorrect for the '69 model. The '68s had a blackout area that ran between the scopes across the hood and the scopes were flat and more off a horizontal opening. The '69s ran front to back and the scopes were more upright opening on the top. The Ram Air was optional and the grills on the scopes would be painted red. Another car to look at for inspiration might be the Road Runner. This was the more hard core performance version of the same basic body style. On the chassis being warped, you cold try heating it under hot water and try bending it back into shape. I've had the same problem before and never could get the car to set flat even after mounting everything else. Most of all due it your way and please post pictures as you go.
  7. I saw a black coupe in traffic last week. I'm try to market a vital organ or two to see if I could afford one. The lottery thing hasn't worked out yet.
  8. Very good info for all to many drivers. In the KC Metro area there is a hiway that goes around the area north to south and east to west. Three lanes in each direction. One of the reasons that it is so congested all the time is what you see in the clip. Another big problem is that the slowest traffic seems to be in the center lane. This makes it very hard to move over for faster traffic, and forces many to drive in the slow lane which is what Lee may be dealing with. I try to use the cruise control so that I don't speed. As you over take some one in the middle line and signal to move into the faster lane they all of a sudden wake up and take off so that you can't pass. If you pull back in behind them they slow down again. If you do get by them and pull back in they start dropping back to see who else they can mess with.
  9. Photo etched brackets are the most correct for scale, but I have used very small strips of Plastruct and have been pleased.
  10. On the color it all depends on what vibe you're going for. When new these were the family hauler and were usually middle of the road colors. Most often a light beige or blue. They could be ordered in just about any color Chevrolet offered, even Iris Mist. I remember seeing reds and maroon, and Chevrolet even had a metallic teal that was very popular. One of my favorites was a medium blue metallic. Lighter colors will not tend to show any imperfections in the body where darker colors tend to show every sin. A trend for a short time in the mid '60s was to have the roof painted a metal flake or high metallic in a contrasting shade.
  11. Do you have a Michele's or Jo-Anns near you ? I have used items from their jewelry department. They carry many gauges of wire. They also have something that looks like a straight pin with a loop on the end. You can cut off most of the straight part. Use that to glue to a small hole drilled to the inner fender and run the heater hose thru the loop. The loop can be easily bent or reshaped as need be. Hope this is of some help.
  12. I am also have this kit on my work bench. I have also changed the front, and rear inner fenders for more tire room. Could you share more pictures with how you did the front on yours ?
  13. Wouldn't miss it. I'll have two table again this year. Lots of old kits and several NASCAR kits. I know I know, but I sold over twenty NASCAR kits last year and lots of Corvettes. Hope to have a half dozen models on display.
  14. This is a must see event. Many years ago the tour spent the night in nearby Overland Park Kansas. Drove over after work for a look see. I was pulling into the parking lot and looked in the rear view mirror to see Vic Edelbrock Jr. behind me in his '40 Ford delivery. So many great cars and people.
  15. It seems that I have had to buy a new car every few years because of changing needs. I used to keep a car for 10 years and more. Had a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP that had the head gasket go at about 120000 miles. Pontiac had a recall, but since I had it done at a local garage before they notified me about the recall they would not reimburse me. After that the car needed a valve job. Once fixed the bottom end got a rod knock. Replaced it with a 2010 Dodge Charger RT. My wife wanted a new car for her commute to her new job a couple of months ago. So we sold my '05 GTO with less than 40000 miles on it since we were not using it and got her a 2014 Dodge Avenger RT. The 26-28 mpg hiway is a lot better than anything else in your garage. I could of just put a new engine in the Grand Prix, but as nice as it was it could not hold a candle to the Charger. Just hope that nothing else changes, one car payment at a time is about our limit anymore.
  16. Great job on the new top. You cut it so precise that it will hardly need any filler. It looks like you have done this before.
  17. In the July issue of Hemmings Classic Car magazine there is a three page article on this car. It also shows pictures of : engine, dash board, right rear 3/4 view. Even with all the repairs that he has had to do it seams it cost less than buying a new car every few years. Just depends on what someone is looking for in transportation. I have owned a few of these little "shoe boxes" years ago and really loved them at the time, but it wouldn't work for me today. The newer cars have spoiled me I'm afraid.
  18. I'm not a "Service Vehicle" modeler, but do own a 2010 Charger R/T with all wheel drive. I used one of these kits to build a civilian Charger. The only issue I experienced was the intake manifold. The instructions showed the intake 180 out. Other than that this is a pretty spot on model.
  19. I know this is to late, but you can use the stock mufflers found under most Revell kits. Just cut them to length and make a new end where you cut the muffler.
  20. I didn't want to put a vent through the wall and didn't have a window near where my spray booth is. I use an area in the basement that I use to store all the garden tools and such. There is a door to the outside, and my spray both is on a shelf right next to the door. I use a dryer vent hose from Home Depot that I just stick out the door when I'm spraying. Just keep the door closed except for enough room to put the dryer hose through. This may not be the most ideal, but it has work great so far.
  21. Did something on the same order, but used the manifolds, carbs and air cleaners from the AMT '57 Chrysler 300. I know the 300 is a Hemi and the Plymouth engine is not, but it didn't take much sanding for it all to fit. I don't know where you would ever find the OEM air cleaners that Mopar used at this time. They had very low hood lines.
  22. If it feels good, do it. As others have told you the Merc. didn't get used as a gasser that often because of its weight. You should remember that the Gas Classes are set by weight and engine displacement . So just about anything will work depending on the class you want to run in. Back in the late sixties there was a group of guys that did very well at the Pomona Winter Nationals in a '50 or '51 Packard with a 283 Chevy and a Powerglide . These guys marched thru eliminations and did very well because of the handicap system. So build it already.
  23. Joe, As I said , some of what they are building is interesting. While I'm not into the rat rod thing myself that doesn't mean that I can't appreciate their efforts. It does take a fertile mind to put some of these cars together. Again its the "side show " that I can't stand.
  24. I agree with Dale on the cultural thing. I believe all to many of these auto based shows are blown way out of proportion. Its hard to believe any of these people are real. Sometimes interesting in what they are building, just to much made up drama and dialog.
  25. I was never into the whole General Lee thing like so many people,. I enjoyed all the stunts and such, but hate to see all of the Dodge Chargers lost to it all. Good video though.
