Had the 50,00 mile checkup yesterday, aced the tread mill without the enhancement shot to get the heart going. The Echocardiogram looks good, and I could hear a steady heartbeat at times from the machine. Now if the Cardiologist will just back off some of the blood pressure meds so I don't fall asleep every time I sit down.

We have a few Doves that like the pick at the seed on the ground under our feeders. They do have a soothing sound. I think they are related to the Pigeon, based on how they walk.

50 Chevy Wrecker
espo replied to Modlbldr's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great looking Boom and all the extras in the bed. Glad you mentioned how you created the bed sides. Using the headlight housings for the taillights looks like that's the way it should be done. Like how the patina is done along with all the other weathering. -
You could always paint the roof some wild metal flake with a tablecloth pattern in it. At one time that was a thing.

There was a time not too long ago the 928, even a running and driving one, was going for far less than what they should have been worth. Not sure they ever got the respect and acceptance that it deserved since it was a front engine, water pumpers.

'50 Chevy Junkyard Winch Truck
espo replied to Terry Jessee's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The Boom is a model all by itself. Like the patina paint finish and the many body modifications. The cracked windshield is realistic looking. -
Beautiful looking paint color and finish. Was the antenna from this kit?

Great paint work looks like the Ford Calypso Red color.

Great looking paint finish and tail stripes.

1960 Ford F-100 Pickup

Great looking build. You have mentioned wanting a Ford 6 cylinder engine, Texas 3D Customs offers one that would only need paint. -
Great looking paint and clean looking chrome trim.

Many of the T-Birds from this era would have the hard top painted the body color, just an idea.

What did you see on the road today?

Those are really cool V-Dubbs -
Something to remember about what can happen to someone when their body suddenly stops or changes direction, the brain and other internal organs are still going in the original direction. This can cause far more than a bad headache. Let's keep our fingers crossed and wish for the best possible outcome.

So last evening I'm shutting the blinds I notice something moving around at the base of the bird feeder in the back yard. At dusk sometimes it is hard to see all the details of a small animal and it takes me a minute to realize it is a Racoon about the size of a small dog. This explains the destroyed bird feeders of late. I stepped out the back door and the Racoon sort of freezes in place. I start down the stairs on to the patio and he takes off running for the culvert at the edge of our yard and the golf course cart path. He jumped into the culvert and then turns around and stares at me thru the bars of rebar that are supposed to keep larger thing from going down the drain. I sewer he was sticking his tung out at me.

Great looking paint work and especially the chassis detailing. Impressive wiring setup.

Great show. The Fairlane was a "right sized" car for the time as well as being a good looking and performing car. There was a guy where I was living at the time that had a '63 Fairlane with the K code engine in the same color combination as your picture. Found out later he had just graduated from the CHP academy. I was at the Winter Nationals when the Thunderbolts first hit the Drag Stripe, they were awesome to watch in action. The Dan Gurney models you mentioned were sold primarily on the West Coast and that may account for one not being around.

Goodbye Hot Rod Magazine?
espo replied to Rockford's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think "yes and no". When these magazines started to be taken over by someone other than car enthusiasts the content became less and less interesting over time and the relevance of their printed articles did the same. This is what I think has killed a lot of print magazines on many subjects. You can blame the internet in part, but with management whose sole focus of turning an ever-bigger profit without investing in the things that create that return play a much larger part of the problem. -
I agree with Jim, Customline, on the Plymouth. I have fiddled with one of those a couple of times and just put it back in the box. I felt that I didn't need the brain damage trying to get the body parts to meet up let alone deal with the chassis. Nox this Galaxie looks like it has nice body proportions and general shape.

1937 Ford pickup tow truck
espo replied to eran_k's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great looking bed conversion and crane details. Like the paint colors and the finish. Looks like it is brand new and ready for its first tow. -
Beautifully done paint and all the chrome trim. The color combination with the interior looks great.
-
Beautiful paint work and you captured the overall look of the car as it appeared in the movie. Must have been a job removing the Bel Air insert trim on the rear fenders.
-
Great looking paint color and finish. Like the low cruiser stance.

1965 Plymouth Belvedere I 426 Commando [1/25 Moebius]
espo replied to e30lover's topic in Model Cars
Beautiful looking paint finishes and color. Following this WIP it was interesting to see the attention to detailing and finish at every step of this build. So realistic looking, all it needs is some white shoe polish numbers and class designation for a Saturday night at the drags.
