  1. Cool little dragster ! And yes I remember these from the late 60's , seems I even saw some with small block Chevys .
  2. Thanks much Ray ! Thanks Larry ! Thanks Andy ! The new reissue is out now .
  3. Thanks much Rob !
  4. Thanks much Snake ! Other than building it out of the box there's not a whole lot that can be done to it . To fix everything that's wrong with it you need to box it up and start over with different parts , like I did with my Eliminator II build .
  5. Thanks John !
  6. I sold one of these kits 5-6 years ago and regretted it ever since , so a couple of years ago I started searching and ended up with two of them ! I built all of these AMT Funny Car kits back in the late 60's and as a kid I thought they were great , so this is definitely a "Nostalgia" build . Even with the recent reissue there's something about building 50 year old plastic . Built right out of the box (including the plastic tires) except for a MAD distributor and some decals I still think it's a cool looking kit . And I had fun building it , brought back lots of memories ! Here's what I started with . I bought the Dyno Don decals on ebay a few months ago but decided not to build another Eliminator II . Paint is Model Master Hugger Orange Lacquer and the glass was tinted with Tamiya Clear Orange . Here's the finished engine and chassis .
  7. Holy Moly there's a lot of info there ! Go back to the Main Page and you could spend days ! http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/
  8. I like it too , it's a great looking kit ! Always wondered why more aren't built .
  9. Dang that's nice ! Outstanding job !
  10. Very well done and nicely detailed , great job painting the black hood and lower side accents !
  11. Always a challenge stepping out of one's comfort zone but it looks like you're getting the hang of it , excellent job ! And BMF does takes some practice but it's worth it !
  12. Took some guts not to paint it silver . . . good for you ! It looks great in blue !
  13. Ohhhhh Yeahhhhhhhhh , best color for that year Chevelle !
  14. I've got this black Jada 2014 which I think is pretty close to being 1/24 scale . The white one is a plastic 2012 pull-back toy made by Kidztech , it's maybe 1/22 scale but looks pretty accurate compared to mine . I have two of them and will probably make a crew cab out if them .
  15. Nice '04 ! Mine's a 2012 purchased in 2016 with 14,600 mi on it , currently at about 29K . No mods yet but I've got a lowering kit in the garage that I'll be installing this winter . I just recently came across Norscot and yes they are pricey , about $60 here plus shipping . I'm very tempted to buy one , I've read that the scale is very accurate and that's what I'm looking for more than anything else . Which one of yours is closest to being 1/25 or 1/24 scale ?
  16. Very cool , I love it !
  17. I'd love to have this parked in my garage , first class all the way Steve ! Your attention to detail is unbelievable but I gotta admit that I'm drooling over those wheels & tires .
  18. I'm also a Silverado CrewCab owner and would be very interested in seeing a comparison of different brands . I've bought a few 1/24 scale and they are all over the place . What do you know about the Norscot ?
  19. Beautiful model of one of my favorite race cars ! Your detailing is over the top , excellent work !
  20. Looks like a great model but I sure would like to see some nice photos of it !
  21. Thanks very much , wish I had another one !
  22. That's purty ! Love those colors !
  23. Thanks Dave , I forgot there were two versions of the Night Stalker Vette ! Are you sure about the date for the Streaker Vette ? I actually thought it was 1974 (I was still asleep this morning when I typed the wrong date).
  24. It started live as the 1964 Stingray kit and was eventually redone as the Streaker Vette in 1978 . Next it was released as the Night Stalker in 1981 with new parts and decals . Then again in 1984 with new decals . This kit was reissued again in 1987 with no changes . There could have been later reissues but I'm not sure .
  25. Thanks Tom ! Thanks Dave ! Thanks very much Carl !
