  1. I think it turned out just fine Chris , especially with that Diamond dust paint ! Even with all of the kits faults it still builds into a decent model and it's got really nice wheels and tires .
  2. Thanks Jim and hi from Florida ! I was born in Lockport , never really lived there but still have family in the area .
  3. We can do that !
  4. Thanks Bill ! I now know that the Cougar chassis isn't actually correct but it' so close and readily available . Only thing I don't like is the rear wheels , they look like they're held on with a big screw and flat washer ! The interior tin fit right into the stock body , I only cut down the front since I didn't use the blower .
  5. Thanks ! My photography's getting better , still working on it . Thanks ! Thanks you !
  6. Just going through this thread from start to finish is like a class on "How To Build A Model - The Right Way" , incredible work Steve ! It's been a long time since I've built a nice 60's street machine but I've got the itch again after seeing your Fury . Also thanks for the kudos about the dash decals , they weren't the best but I'm glad you were able to use them .
  7. Amazing work !
  8. Well done ! Your color choice goes perfectly with those decals .
  9. Thanks very much guys , I do appreciate the replies ! I don't know a lot about these cars but did try to get it to look right if not technically correct .
  10. Yep . . . that's cooooooool !
  11. I like it !
  12. Thanks Noah and Phillip ! I used a stock body from an AMT kit and the chassis/engine/inner panel from the Don Nicholson Cougar Funny Car kit . Everything fit nicely , only had to lengthen the chassis wheelbase an 1/8 inch or so . This chassis isn't actually correct , I think a better choice would be one of the Polar Light Funny Car kits . Here's a link to the WIP .
  13. Thanks Gary ! I used what was on hand so the chassis isn't the correct one but I'm happy with it . Thank you Al ! Thanks much Snake ! What a difference good photo make right ? Hope to see yours going together soon .
  14. Looking really good ! I also built this kit back in the early 70's and it's still one of my favorites , definitely watching your progress !
  15. Boy that's one sharp looking Superbird , very clean build and i love that color ! What paint did you use ? A true yellow is very hard to find .
  16. Finished this one back in April but had trouble getting decent photos with my new camera , since then I've learned a bit so yesterday I decided to try again . The front end always sat too high so I fixed that too , turns out the injector stacks were too tall and hitting the inner panel . These new photos are much better , hope you like them .
  17. Thanks ! Probably should have looked for some but no , built it strictly by the instructions .
  18. Thanks Jim ! The detail is surprising for a snap kit .
  19. The Maroon paint looks really sharp , overall a beautiful GT ! Great work !
  20. Received this info last night and thought there may be some interest here . https://www.monstersinmotion.com/cart/item-list-ae-c-13_191/ateam-1983-tv-series-gmc-vandura-bespoke-collection-112-scale-resin-model-kit-free-us-shipping-p-27163.html https://www.monstersinmotion.com/cart/item-list-fj-c-13_192/gone-in-sixty-seconds-2000-1967-ford-mustang-eleanor-bespoke-collection-112-scale-resin-model-kit-free-us-shipping-p-27164.html
  21. That does look good ! The bottom edge of the transfer is visible but for those without an airbrush this looks like a good alternative .
  22. Thanks Keith ! It is very detailed for a snap kit and comes with waterslide decals and also "stickers" so it's a great kit for young modelers .
  23. This is an impressive little kit , well engineered and it goes together exactly like it should . . . plus there's a bunch of detail in a very compact package . I built this one right out of the box to get a feel for it and to get some ideas for adding more detail to future builds . I did come up with several ideas and can't wait to start on my next Lightning McQueen !
  24. What's not common knowledge is that Dave Deal (Deal's Wheels) did the original concept drawings for the Cars characters . He also had an office at Pixar Studios .
