  1. If a "work - in - progress" is what's actually on the bench , I currently have two started . If it also means builds that have been started and then set aside for some reason , I count seven more . And if it also includes builds not actually started but specific parts have been purchased and/or collected to buld it , then I can add five more to the list . The ones I've started and then boxed up and put away never to be seen again don't count . Personally , I count 2 .
  2. This really means nothing since we don't know where "here" is .
  3. It's a neat kit of a cool little car back in it's day . Unfortunately none of the parts in the kit actually fit to each other , they just sort of go here or there . Very easy to get bored with it unless you know exactly what you want to build and can do it quickly ! ! I've started three of them and have only finished one . I doubt I will ever touch the other two again !
  4. Does anyone like Ford engines ? Here's a couple of 427 Cobra motors . A 700 H.P. all aluminum engine and a 650 H.P. with Inglese induction .
  5. You nailed it ! You built it straight out of the box and it looks great !
  6. I bet you lost interest while working on the engine , right ? Happens to me every time I build one of these , just something about the way it goes together bugs me . Anyway , yours turned out just fine . The pipes and bumper and everything are all straight and square , that's the hard part . I really like the color and the top ! You've got to finish it !
  7. From what I see , the detail on this kit is really good . Is this OOB or have you added to it ?
  8. Very nice . I like the color and the detailing . Nice job .
  9. It's neat looking at older builds . You should build another one and display them together .
  10. Looks great ! I like the engine and chassis detailing . Where did you get the Essex Wire decals ?
  11. Steve , I knew somebody would ask that ! I have the complete set of Ansen wheels , but wanted a deeper dish on the rear , so I just used something close ( A.K.A. parts box ) . And I actually did have an El Camino with ET's on the front and Appliance wheels on the back . They looked almost identical except for the center caps !
  12. Thanks Casey and Bart . I drilled them out with no problems and am going to use the lenses from the Chevelle wagon kit . The body got it's final coat of primer this morning and will sit for a couple of days before I prep it for paint . In the mean time I finished the interior last night . I've never spent much time on interiors because they just can't be seen unless it's a convertible . This resin interior is lacking any detail so I added a few things . I made arm rests and window cranks , used embossing powder for the carpet , and added floor mats and seatbelts . The shifter is from the Mach I kit . It's not the cleanest looking , but like I said , it will never be seen anyway . Any comments and suggestions will be appreciated .

    68 charger

One photo at a time . Time consuming , but there is no other way .
  14. That looks very real . Now I'm sorry I drilled out the lights on my current build !

    What if...?

This one almost works . Nice stuff Harry .
  17. It looks much better than the original Speedwagon . Please explain how you did the wood .
  18. Yes it is ! And you can't beat the price !
  19. I just checked and the current temp in Chicago is 85 with 43% humidity . Tampa is 89 with 58% humidity . Looks like we both have a pretty nice day compared to other parts of the country .
  20. Sorry to burst your bubble , but I spent a winter in Albequerque . Lots of snow ! My son drives OTR and he got stuck on I-20 east of there for 3 days when a blizzard closed the interstate in less than 2 hours ! Here in Tampa there has never been a recorded temperature above 99 degrees ! Summer temps are usually 89 - 93 with 75% - 80% humidity . This past week it never hit 90 degrees . Right now at almost 1 pm it is 88 degrees . What's it like in Chicago ?

    62 Impala

    Beautiful !
  22. Are you painting outside - outside , or outside in a garage ? ( Does that make sense ? ) I paint in an open garage with a couple of small fans moving the air thru the garage and out the open end . It seems to help keep my paint from blushing or turning flat .
  23. A really beautiful bug ! The paint looks perfect .
  24. Very , very nice ! !
  25. Beautiful Paint ! And the interior is really sharp ! Can't wait to see the finished model .
